Chapter 98

The impromptu addition to the schedule exhausted the volunteer performers and crew members, but at the same time, it allowed everyone to feel the enthusiasm of the audience, making it quite meaningful.

The news of the arrival of the red song star Song Haowen at Wudang Mountain caused a sensation in the local area, attracting numerous fans and media attention. Dealing with onlookers and interviewers would become the biggest challenge for the film crew.

On the second day, the Lunar New Year’s Day, to minimize disruptions, the production team promptly decided to cancel the shooting planned at Zixiao Palace under the Peak of the Exhibition Flag. Instead, they moved ahead to film a segment at Taihe Palace, which was situated on the main peak of Wudang Mountain, Jinding, where it was icy and treacherous. This decision successfully helped the crew escape the entanglement of fans and music fans.

By the sixth day of the Lunar New Year, all winter scenes at Wudang Mountain were completed, leaving only a few summer shots to be taken later. To save time, the crew had no time for a break and rushed to Min Capital for the next shoot.

From the icy Wudang Mountain to the warm climate of Min Capital, the crew members suddenly felt like they had entered spring. However, there was no time for them to explore the city or enjoy the change in weather. After a short rest, they immediately plunged into the new shoot.

Having dealt with scenes like these at Wudang Mountain and having become good friends with Zhong Lizhi and Jenny, Song Haowen and the crew faced no awkwardness during the reshoots. The filming proceeded smoothly and ended perfectly.

On the afternoon of the fifteenth day of the Lunar New Year, after completing the last scene featuring Song Haowen, the filming concerning him came to a temporary conclusion.

Other major scenes were scheduled for the summer shoot. Some scattered shots, requiring only one or two days of shooting, wouldn’t significantly impact Song Haowen’s studies.

During this period, most of the crew members weren’t idle. They had a large number of shots to capture, especially those with hundreds, thousands, or even tens of thousands of people in grand scenes, requiring a considerable amount of effort.

In these scenes, the director tried to avoid having the male lead appear. If necessary, a stand-in with a similar build to Song Haowen would be chosen from the national team to compensate for his absence.

The spring semester at Beijing University was set to begin on the sixteenth day of the Lunar New Year. Song Haowen rushed back to Beijing, with enough time to spare.

He attended the farewell dinner arranged by the crew and, after dinner, bid farewell to everyone. He then boarded the rental taxi arranged by the crew, headed to Min Capital Airport, and took the evening flight directly to Beijing.

When the plane landed at Beijing International Airport, it was just past midnight. It was a bit late to enter the city, so he took a shuttle bus to the hotel near the airport and planned to go home when it got bright.

Feeling like he had just fallen asleep for a short while, Song Haowen was awakened by footsteps in the corridor. Opening the curtains, he saw that it was already dawn. With little interest in sleeping further, he got up, freshened up, and left the hotel to hail a taxi.

Returning from the warm south to the cold north, he felt the biting cold wind, and his body couldn’t help but shiver. After waiting for about half an hour, he finally hailed a cab, rescuing him from the icy conditions.

When he arrived at store, it wasn’t 7 o’clock yet. At this moment, Zhu Hongyu and Ren Hua were just getting up. Upon hearing the sound of the door opening, suspecting it was Song Haowen returning, they didn’t even wait to put on their clothes.

They rushed out of their rooms and, seeing the dusty Song Haowen, both of them embraced him. However, when their fiery bodies touched his ice-cold one, they both exclaimed, stepping back and glaring at him with a look of disdain. “You’re like ice! So cold!”

Song Haowen felt a warm sensation upon seeing the two of them as soon as he returned home. He instinctively wanted to reach out and touch their adorable faces, but both of them pushed his hands away in unison.

“Don’t touch randomly. Your hands are so cold. Are you trying to freeze us to death?”

Song Haowen could only give up. Putting down his luggage, he went straight to the east room where the two girls stayed. He sat on the heated bed and exclaimed, “Home is still so warm.”

Because this bed was still warm, the temperature in the room was noticeably higher than in the living room.

Both girls’ faces instantly turned into red apples, but seeing Song Haowen shivering from the cold, they hesitated to kick him out.

Zhu Hongyu handed a hot towel to Song Haowen, while Ren Hua offered him a cup of hot tea.

“Did you two really not go back to your hometown during the winter break?” When Song Haowen left, they mentioned that they wouldn’t be going home for the New Year.

Ren Hua replied, “No, the winter break is short, and we were afraid of the hassle on the way.”

Zhu Hongyu lowered her head without answering. Song Haowen knew it was because of the divorce, and she was afraid of facing awkwardness if she went back. He didn’t press the matter any further.

“Why didn’t you move to Peach Blossom Alley? Didn’t we agree on that? The conditions there are much better.”

Ren Hua said, “It’s true that it’s better there, but it’s not as convenient, and there’s no heating. We couldn’t bear it at night. So, after staying there for two nights, we came back here.”

Zhu Hongyu expressed concern, “Little brother, is the movie finished? Was it smooth?”

“I can only say it’s temporarily concluded. The other scenes will be filmed during the summer break.”

Ren Hua sat next to Song Haowen, cupping his face with her hands, and said affectionately, “Little brother, you seem to have lost weight!”

Song Haowen quickly opened Ren Hua’s hands. “Sister Naren, don’t do this. Every hair on my body is standing up. I’ve got goosebumps all over.”

Ren Hua blushed and chuckled. “Hongyu sister, it seems like he hasn’t changed. He’s still a pure little prince.”

Zhu Hongyu’s face turned cold. “Who knows? Those girls might have already seduced his soul.”

“Hehe, two beautiful sisters, it seems like I haven’t offended you. How can you doubt your honest and lovely little brother?”

Zhu Hongyu didn’t want to dwell on this topic and asked, “Little brother, what do you want for breakfast? We’ll get it for you.”

Song Haowen waved his hand. “No need to trouble you two sisters. Hurry up, freshen up, and we’ll go to a restaurant for brunch together.”

Zhu Hongyu said, “Can you go to your room? It’s inconvenient with you here.”

Song Haowen scornfully said, “What’s so inconvenient? You don’t need to change your underwear.”

Ren Hua widened her eyes. “Alright, if you dare to leave, I dare to stay! I’ll change my underwear right in front of you.”

Song Haowen was persistent. “If you do, I’ll watch!”

“Go to hell!” Ren Hua’s face turned red, and she picked up the pillow next to her, throwing it at Song Haowen. Zhu Hongyu stepped forward, twisting Song Haowen’s ear, scolding, “Still saying you haven’t learned bad things? You actually want to watch your sisters change clothes! Tell me, how many women have you watched changing outside?”

“Help! The two sisters are plotting against their little brother!” Song Haowen shouted. Seizing the opportunity while Zhu Hongyu was momentarily stunned, he quickly slipped off the heated brick bed and escaped into his room.

Once in the room, Song Haowen first checked the two safes. Seeing nothing amiss, he opened them and found that treasures such as the King of Wu Sword, Rooster Cup, Ruby, and jade were all intact.

He locked the safes again, then went to the backyard to inspect the warehouse. Finding everything in good condition, he secretly gave a thumbs up to his partners in the store.

Thinking about the priceless treasures in this room, he couldn’t help but feel a bit proud.

Shortly after, the two girls were ready and called Song Haowen to have breakfast.

Song Haowen hurriedly came out from the courtyard, and the two girls suddenly hugged one of his arms each, like two undercover police officers escorting a prisoner.

They brought him to a nearby restaurant, leaving Song Haowen with a face full of embarrassment as every person looked at him with surprise.

After breakfast, the three of them went to school together for registration. It was the first day of school, and many students were meeting for the first time after the holidays, appearing very friendly towards each other.

Only Zhu and the others knew about his filmmaking plans in the class, and they kept it a secret as per his request, which saved him a lot of trouble.

Song Haowen was chatting with classmates in class when suddenly a classmate came over and told him that there was a beauty looking for him outside the classroom.

Surprised, he ran outside to see that it was his second sister, Song Huihua, who had come to find him and greeted her quickly.

Seeing Song Haowen, Song Huihua felt a mix of joy and resentment. She pulled him to a place away from the class and asked a series of questions, “When did you come back? Why didn’t you report to the family first? Where did you spend the Spring Festival? How’s the movie going?”

After Song Huihua finished her rapid-fire questions, Song Haowen calmly shared his experiences. She asked, “Little brother, can you come home for lunch? Everyone at home misses you.” Because today was the registration day, students who registered in the morning were free to do activities in the afternoon, and formal classes would start the next day.

With a slightly reddened eyes, Song Haowen replied, “I miss home a lot too. Unless there’s something urgent, I’ll go home for lunch.”

Song Huihua smiled at his words and blushing, said, “After registration, don’t wander around. I’ll come to get you for lunch.”

After Song Huihua left, the class adviser, Mr. Jin, came to the class. Seeing that most of the students had gathered, he asked the class committee member, Song Haowen, to call a few students to help and bring the textbooks from the academic affairs office.

Song Haowen immediately called seven or eight male student and brought the textbooks back.

After everyone received their textbooks, Mr. Jin held a brief class meeting. Towards the end, he reminded students who were planning to take the postgraduate entrance exam that time was limited, and they should make good preparations.

Once the class meeting ended, students were free to move around. They resumed exchanging stories from their winter break.

Song Haowen wanted to hear about his classmates’ experiences, but thinking about his second sister coming to find him, he packed up his textbooks, slung his backpack, and went to the front square.

Just then, a girl called his name from the side. Turning around, he saw that it was Gu Ziwei from the Literature Department. She was running towards him, out of breath, with rosy cheeks and her twin braids bouncing.

Seeing that she had changed her hairstyle, from the previous ponytail to a livelier and cuter look, Song Haowen smiled and greeted her, asking how she was.

Gu Ziwei, standing in front of Song Haowen, took a long breath and scolded him, “I see you busy all the time. I thought you had dropped out.”

Song Haowen was a bit puzzled. “What’s up? Do you need something from me?”
