No Feeding the NPC Cub! [Infinite]
No Feeding the NPC Cub! [Infinite] Chapter 73: Cave Monster (7)

[Ahhh, so intense already!]

[Zaizai is left alone! Not crying or making a fuss! His expression didn’t even change! He’s tougher than Auntie!]

[If it were me, I’d really die of fright! No joke! I get scared even when the elevator shakes QAQ]

[No, I’m saying this cub’s aunties’ style is so peculiar. Other viewers watch gore and guts fly without batting an eye. The monster hasn’t even appeared, and you guys are starting to whimper yingyingying?]

[I suspected it long ago! This cub’s aunties might have been ‘cub-ified’! Their style really doesn’t fit a horror game, wo cao!]

[Welcome to join Zaizai-men! Long live Zaizai-men!!]

Gu Rong indeed wasn’t scared after being left alone.

Looking at the three passages suddenly appearing before him, all pitch black, indistinguishable.

Gu Rong poked his little head forward, glanced into the cave entrance, then randomly chose one and crawled inside.

Continuing to crawl through the passage, after an unknown amount of time, Gu Rong paused. He found three more passages branching off in front of him.

Gu Rong let out an “Huh?”. Without hesitation, he still randomly chose one and crawled inside.

Crawling, crawling, crawling. Soon, the same situation occurred again: three passages appeared before him once more.

“…”

006: [Little host, could we have encountered a Ghost Hitting?]

Gu Rong didn’t understand what “Ghost Hitting Wall” meant. But having crawled for so long, he was tired. He directly rested his head on his little forearms, his small body lying flat: [Zaizai tired, sleepy time.]

006: […]

Now is really not a good time for sleepy time! And how can anyone sleep in a place like this! Uh, okay, for the little host, he can fall asleep anytime, anywhere.

006 said: [Little host, getting out of the passage first is more important.]

Gu Rong rolled his little head slightly, continuing to lie still, only kicking his little legs once.

006: […]

Alright, resting a bit isn’t bad either.

Gu Rong lay prone for an unknown amount of time. Just as he was half-asleep, suddenly, he heard rustling sounds xixisusu.

Gu Rong’s little ears twitched. He lifted his little head, surprisingly alert.

The sound came from behind. Gu Rong looked back, saw nothing, and the sound disappeared.

However, when Gu Rong turned his head back forward, soon, the rustling sound started again. The sound grew closer, moving directly towards Gu Rong, and at a surprising speed.

Gu Rong turned his head again, and the sound vanished once more. His headlamp illuminated the passage; there was nothing there.

Gu Rong turned his head forward again and was suddenly shocked: the three passages in front were gone! The three paths had merged back into one! And right at the front of the passage, a dark human-shaped figure was stuck in the opening.

Gu Rong: “?”

 006: [!!!]

Livestream Chat: [!!!]

This scene was too terrifying! 006 and the aunties almost cursed out loud.

Gu Rong, however, reacted extremely quickly and calmly. In the passage, where adults couldn’t turn around, Gu Rong could manage, but turning fully was impossible.

Gu Rong was excellent at crawling, having just passed the baby crawling stage. His body was small and more flexible. He immediately got on all fours and crawled backward, retreating very quickly.

And the unknown black shape ahead started moving. Its speed was incredibly fast, as if it had been crawling in these passages for a long time and had adapted to this mode of movement, even more skilled at crawling than Gu Rong. In just a few moments, the distance shortened significantly.

Gu Rong stared at the opponent, continuing to retreat steadily without panic.

Strangely, Gu Rong had a headlamp, but shining it on the unknown moving object ahead always revealed only a dark human silhouette. He couldn’t make out features or details. Its limbs were exceptionally gaunt, resembling a monkey more than a human.

006 and the livestream aunties were scared their souls would fly out, shouting: Zaizai run quick!

Seeing the distance shrinking rapidly, 006 said: [Little host! Three forks appeared behind again!]

Gu Rong, while retreating, glanced back, accurately wriggled guyong guyong into a side passage. Simultaneously, the human-shaped creature lunged forward, but because it was too fast and couldn’t brake in time, it crashed directly into another passage fork.

Not only couldn’t humans turn around easily in the passage, this human-like monster couldn’t either. The space didn’t allow it. Having entered the wrong passage, it got stuck and couldn’t crawl backward like Gu Rong.

The monster struggled to retreat, only able to inch backward slowly.

Gu Rong crawled to the entrance of his passage, turned his little head, looked at the stuck monster, blinked his big eyes, put his small hand to his nose, stuck out his tongue, and made a face: “Lue lue lue~~”

Monster: ?

006: […]

Livestream Chat: […]

Okay, worried for nothing. The cub isn’t scared at all and even has the energy to tease the monster.

Gu Rong crawled out of the passage, returned to the previous main passage, and crawled away in the opposite direction from the monster. The monster retreated at a turtle’s pace and was quickly left far behind.

After crawling for an unknown amount of time again, Gu Rong finally crawled out of the passage and entered a cave.

This cave was very spacious. On the rock wall near the entrance, a conspicuous red “1” was written. This was Cave 1, which the villagers had already explored and marked.

Gu Rong found a flat stone and sat down, sighing like a little adult. Crawled for so long, tired Zaizai out.

Only Gu Rong, one cub, was in the cave. The others were nowhere to be seen.

Gu Rong asked: [Where are Big Brother, Little Brother, Uncle Doctor?]

006: [Probably got split into different forks. It’s like a Ghost Hitting a Wall. Amazing, these villagers could even draw a map…]

Before 006 could finish speaking, its voice caught, choked up. Looking at Gu Rong – good grief, he was already eating a large hamburger.

006: […]

Just escaped an unknown monster. If it were an adult, they probably couldn’t just start eating right away? Gu Rong, however, started eating without being affected at all.

Gu Rong’s protective suit covered most of him, only revealing his small hands. His two small hands held a large hamburger, and he ate heartily.

The livestream aunties, still recovering from the terrifying moment earlier, couldn’t help but start laughing “hahaha” upon seeing Gu Rong already eating. The atmosphere relaxed again. Sure enough, wherever Zaizai is, there’s joy. Horror? Non-existent.

Gu Rong finished a large hamburger, bought a cup of orange juice, sat cross-legged, holding the juice and drinking while chatting with 006. Just then, a bulky figure crawled out of the passage entrance.

After squeezing out of the passage, the person saw Gu Rong, paused for a moment, then looked at the number 1 on the rock wall. “Oh, Cave 1. Only you here, little fool?”

The newcomer was precisely Jones. He carried his black hiking backpack. Seeing Gu Rong holding a large cup of orange juice, looking like freshly squeezed juice, a trace of surprise flashed in his intact left eye.

The worm in his right eye also stared at Gu Rong, or more accurately, at the orange juice in his arms. It began to rotate wildly, seemingly wanting to try a sip too.

Seeing this, Gu Rong immediately hugged his orange juice tightly, huffed, and said in his milky voice: “Zaizai’s orange juice!”

As the worm rotated, Jones frowned in pain, clutching the side of his head. He walked towards Gu Rong, grinning: “Then I’ll feed this fine-skinned, fair, chubby little cub to the worm.”

Gu Rong immediately hugged his orange juice, got up, and ran.

Jones, at 160cm, was short for an adult man, but compared to Gu Rong, a two-year-old cub, he was much taller. One of his steps equaled several of Gu Rong’s. The distance quickly shrank.

Previously, when the group was together, he could still pretend, not attacking Gu Rong. Now that the cub was alone, he dropped all pretense. From the first night he saw this cub, the worm in his head had been clamoring madly. Eat him! Eat him! This was his true purpose for bringing this cub into the cave.

Gu Rong could also feel the footsteps behind him getting closer. He ran towards the passage opening, preparing to hide inside.

Reaching a passage entrance, just as Jones was about to catch up, Gu Rong unleashed a big move— The protective suit instantly emitted a dazzling rainbow light that could blind titanium alloy dog eyes.

Jones was blinded by the light, raising his hand to block it. When he lowered his hand, the light was gone, and the cub had disappeared.

Jones’s face darkened. He entered the passage in pursuit.

[Damn it! This dog bastard Jones! Really deserves death!]

[Zaizai run quickly! Why doesn’t this instance have an 18+ rating? Zaizai isn’t scared, but I am!]

[Claustrophobia, fear of the unknown, monsters, being chased, bugs… This instance really stacked debuffs to the max! All my fear points!]

After crawling into the passage, Gu Rong placed his small hands on the ground and crawled rapidly. But the passage width varied. Soon, a narrow section appeared ahead.

This narrow passage was extremely small. Even Gu Rong had to flatten his body, keeping his arms straight at his sides, creeping forward.

Gu Rong wanted to turn back, but looking behind, he found Jones had already caught up, grinning at him. Combined with the milky white worm in his eye, it was exceptionally creepy.

Gu Rong made a split-second decision and immediately continued crawling forward.

Jones quickly crawled into this narrow passage too, his speed slowing down.

His physique was very stout, but magically, his fat could be partially absorbed and stored by the parasite in his head. The worm grew larger; originally occupying a quarter of his head, it now squeezed his brain capacity, almost occupying half.

And Jones’s body actually became much thinner and smaller, his speed immediately picking up again.

Gu Rong couldn’t turn back now; the passage was too narrow. 006 and the livestream chat were silently screaming, afraid to startle Gu Rong. They could only hold their breath, almost unable to breathe… Of course, 006, the small system, didn’t breathe.

Fortunately, Gu Rong quickly reached the end of the narrow passage. Exiting, he found himself in another cave.

His upper body had already crawled out, but Jones had also caught up behind him. A hand reached out, grabbing Gu Rong’s small foot.

006: [!!!]

Livestream Chat: [!!!]

Ahhhhh!!!

Gu Rong looked down and saw Jones’s sinisterly grinning face. The worm had grown so plump it was about to burst out of his skull.

Gu Rong kicked his little foot back, directly hitting Jones’s head. He possessed divine strength, but was limited by the environment, this kick only used two layers of power. But it was enough. With a “Kacha!” sound, Jones released his hand.

006 and the livestream cheered: Zaizai is mighty!!!

Gu Rong immediately crawled forward, out of the passage, and into the cave. And Jones lay on his stomach at the passage entrance, face down, seemingly having fainted dead away.

Gu Rong stomped his little foot, huffing. If it wasn’t inconvenient to crawl back, he would have gone back and given the bad guy another kick.

And just at this moment, suddenly, Jones abruptly lifted his head.

No matter how brave Gu Rong was, the sudden movement was startling. He immediately retreated a bit.

By the light of the headlamp, Gu Rong saw Jones, stuck in the passage opening, his head actually split into two halves.

Jones’s head, originally half skull and half the parasitic milky white worm inside, had now split – the head and worm had separated.

The worm’s body, freed from the skull, was a long strip, plump and vividly alive, constantly wriggling in the air.
