Chapter 32: Sleep with the Boss

Cen Wan’s phone buzzed with a message notification.

Xu Zhi Tang: [North Alley Bar tomorrow night.]

She was about to decline when another message came in.

Xu Zhi Tang: [How long have you ignored me? Are you going to stand me up again?]

Cen Wan: [I’ve been chasing my husband lately, it’s a crucial moment.]

Xu Zhi Tang: [Cut the crap, coming or not?]

Cen Wan glanced at Lu Beixun and quickly typed a few words.

Cen Wan: [Coming, I get off work at 5.]

Xu Zhi Tang had asked her out a few times before, but she had declined. If she declined this time, her best friend would probably break up with her.

Xu Zhi Tang: [You’re working?]

Cen Wan: [Yeah, Lu Beixun’s company.]

Xu Zhi Tang: [Are you sure you’re not going to cause trouble and make Lu Beixun go bankrupt sooner?]

Cen Wan: [Break up.]

She put away her phone and looked at Lu Beixun, “Miss Xu asked me out. Can I go out tomorrow? I’ll be home by 8 sharp.”

Lu Beixun never restricted her freedom. She could go out directly after work.

But she wanted to report her whereabouts to him, giving her man a sense of security.

“Hmm.” Lu Beixun’s tone was gentle, “I’ll drive you.”

“No need.  You’re tired after a day of work.  Go home early and rest.  Get cleaned up and wait for me in bed, okay?”

A strange look flashed in Lu Beixun’s dark eyes, fleeting and gone.  His aura gradually turned cold.  He didn’t say anything else.  He remained silent all the way.

Cen Wan didn’t notice his change.  Lu Beixun’s silence was her cue.  She didn’t think about it any further.

The next day after work, Cen Wan sent Lu Beixun a message, left the company, and hailed a cab.  She went directly to the North Alley Bar.

Cen Wan found Xu Zhi Tang in a corner of the bar.  The bar was filled with flashing lights.  She was drinking alone at the bar, looking a little down.

Cen Wan walked over and sat next to her.  She asked the bartender for a drink and then looked at her, “Not in a good mood?”

“Not really.”  Xu Zhi Tang took a sip of her drink and casually swirled the glass in her hand.  She was beautiful and decadent, “Just feel like it’s all meaningless.”

“Where are your little puppies and wolves?”  Cen Wan raised an eyebrow.

“They’re so boring.  I just have to wiggle my fingers and they’re all over me.”  Xu Zhi Tang flipped her hair, “No challenge.”

Cen Wan lowered her head and silently chuckled.  She didn’t say anything else.  Soon, the man who wouldn’t be easily manipulated by her would appear in her world.

Xu Zhi Tang glanced at her, “What are you laughing at?”

“Thinking about what it would be like for Miss Xu to be manipulated.”

Xu Zhi Tang scoffed and finished her drink.

Compared to Xu Zhi Tang, Cen Wan had a more innocent look.  She was wearing her work clothes, making her seem out of place.  She attracted the attention of many men.  Men who frequented this kind of place were used to seeing heavy makeup.  Seeing a woman with an innocent look and delicate features, they were stirred.

Cen Wan’s unattainable aura made the men hesitate, but they couldn’t help but want to approach her.

Noticing the gaze of a man nearby, Cen Wan casually flipped her hair with her right hand, revealing the wedding ring on her ring finger.  The man who was already walking towards her stopped and retreated.

A wedding ring could really save a lot of trouble sometimes.

After a while, Cen Wan said goodbye to Xu Zhi Tang and went to the bathroom.  She also touched up her makeup.

A few minutes later, she finished and came out of the bathroom.

When she went back, the bar was in chaos.  Her and Xu Zhi Tang’s spot was surrounded by other customers.  She pushed through the crowd and walked over.  Xu Zhi Tang was holding a broken wine bottle and pointing it at a man with a pointed nose and a narrow face.

Cen Wan had a slight impression of the man because of his pointed nose and narrow face.  He was with the man who had tried to chat her up.  They must have been friends.

Cen Wan quickly walked to Xu Zhi Tang’s side and asked, “What happened?”

“I just don’t like him.”  Xu Zhi Tang’s tone was light and airy.  She didn’t say anything else.

Even if she didn’t say it, Cen Wan knew that it couldn’t be just because she didn’t like him.  Xu Zhi Tang wasn’t that kind of person.

Everything had a reason.  After Cen Wan went to the bathroom, the man with the pointed nose and narrow face had said some nasty things to her, like “pretending to be innocent,” “older women are easier to sleep with,” and “you’re more experienced.”  He said some disgusting things.

Xu Zhi Tang had been spoiled since she was little.  She never understood the meaning of compromise.  She couldn’t stand it when he called her a fake friend.  She directly smashed her wine glass at the man.

This was the current situation.

The man with the pointed nose and narrow face wasn’t a pushover either.  His brothers directly surrounded Xu Zhi Tang and asked her to apologize.

The way to apologize was for Xu Zhi Tang to sleep with him for a night and take good care of him.  Then, they would forget about it.

The man with the pointed nose and narrow face looked at Cen Wan, “We were chatting, and your friend smashed her wine glass at me.  Don’t you think she should apologize?”

“Shouldn’t you be the one apologizing?”  Xu Zhi Tang curled her lips, “Did you forget what you just said?  Should I remind you?”

The man with the pointed nose and narrow face didn’t want to waste words, “So what if your friend is married?  She’s married, but she’s still running around bars.  She’s just a slut.  What’s she pretending to be innocent for?”

Cen Wan understood the situation.  She coldly scanned the man with the pointed nose and narrow face.  Her eyes were sharp.

The man with the pointed nose and narrow face looked at Xu Zhi Tang and sneered, “I have so many brothers.  If you want to fight, you won’t get anything good.  Sleep with the boss for a night.  Consider it an apology.  I won’t hold it against you.”

He liked women like Xu Zhi Tang, who had a wild side, more than married women.  Maybe she was even a virgin.

As soon as the man with the pointed nose and narrow face finished speaking, he was hit on the head with a wine bottle.  The bottle shattered into pieces on the ground, making a crisp sound.  Warm liquid flowed down his forehead.  He was stunned.  His vision blurred.

The person who smashed the man with the pointed nose and narrow face was none other than Cen Wan.  Cen Wan’s aura was in place, but she was scared.  It was too violent.

She was scared, but she wouldn’t let anyone bully her best friend.  Besides, her fake friend was defending her.

If you looked closely, you could see that her hand holding the wine bottle was trembling slightly.

Xu Zhi Tang chuckled, “You go girl.”

Cen Wan rolled her eyes at her.  It was already this bad, and she still had the mood to tease her.  She was scared to death.  She thought that next time this woman asked her to go to the bar, she wouldn’t go unless it was a VIP luxury room.

Some men were just disgusting.

Cen Wan thought of something and leaned closer to her, poking her with her elbow, “You’re so brave.  Did you bring a bodyguard?”

Xu Zhi Tang raised an eyebrow at her, “Guess?”

“Don’t mess around.”  If she didn’t bring a bodyguard, wouldn’t they both be done for?  There were so many of them, and they were two weak women who couldn’t fight.

The man with the pointed nose and narrow face recovered from his daze.  He looked like a fierce demon and called his brothers to deal with the two of them.

Cen Wan nervously grabbed Xu Zhi Tang’s arm.
