Chapter 56: Just the Two of Us Talking (2/2)
It was inexplicable yet seemed just right, like a breeze that should blow at the right season and in the right place.
“Brother Wang, can you find out what he’s been up to lately?”
Liu Ruoxin sighed. Her plan to win over Zhao Qingfeng by playing the victim had failed, but she didn’t feel too disappointed. Instead, her interest in the current Zhao Qingfeng had grown significantly.
The driver nodded and added, “Ruoxin, your dad is coming back from out of town tonight. Let’s eat something and then pick him up together.”
After speaking, the driver coaxed Liu Ruoxin into the car.
…
Leaving Liu Ruoxin aside, Zhao Qingfeng had finally arrived at the Erlunsiheadquarters.
When he got out of the car, it was 9:50 AM. He was 20 minutes late.
Wang Qiuyue was anxiously pacing back and forth at the entrance.
Seeing Zhao Qingfeng, she hurriedly grabbed his arm. “Mr. … Zhao, you better hurry up. The negotiation isn’t going well. Manager Zhang from the sales department is getting impatient. The meeting is about to end.”
As she finished speaking, a few staff members at the front desk couldn’t help but cover their mouths and giggle.
They had asked Wang Qiuyue earlier whom she was waiting for, and she mentioned someone extremely important.
“So, this is the important person she was waiting for?”
“He looks so young, almost like a middle school student.”
“Our Manager Zhang is over forty. How could he possibly negotiate with a middle school student? I’ve been at this front desk for years and never heard of such a thing. This is ridiculous.”
“Besides, with all the refunds recently and franchisees and agents constantly coming in, he’s been scratching his head over it. He doesn’t have time to listen to a child’s nonsense.”
Zhao Qingfeng heard everything clearly but ignored it.
He asked Wang Qiuyue to lead the way to the second-floor meeting room.
In the elevator, he furrowed his brows, recalling his recent experiences.
Wang Qiuyue also looked worried, thinking today’s efforts were doomed.
She had tried contacting the school last night, which shouldn’t be a problem.
But if they couldn’t resolve things at the Erlunsi headquarters, everything else would be moot.
Ding.
The elevator door opened.
Wang Qiuyue led Zhao Qingfeng to the conference room door.
Just as they were about to knock, the door suddenly opened.
A middle-aged man in a suit, frowning, came out, complaining, “What are you talking about? It’s all a mess. Talking about naming rights and trademarks, does a contract factory like yours even deserve to negotiate with us? Excuse me, please move.”
The man pushed past Zhao Qingfeng, instructing his staff to see the visitors out.
Liu Li saw Zhao Qingfeng and gestured towards the middle-aged man.
Zhao Qingfeng understood this must be Manager Zhang of the sales department.
After stepping back to clear the way, he spoke confidently, “Manager Zhang, what if I told you that if your company doesn’t transform, it will go bankrupt within two years? Would you believe it?”
“What did you say?” Manager Zhang, already furious, stopped in his tracks and turned back angrily.
“Let me put it another way. What if I said I could help your company turn losses into profits and remain standing in the industry for the next ten to twenty years? Would you like to hear more?” Zhao Qingfeng continued confidently.
As he finished, the sales staff sitting around the conference room chuckled.
Who doesn’t know how to talk big?
Where did this kid come from? Isn’t he the son of that Li Ming Clothing boss?
Manager Zhang was also amused, looking at Zhao Qingfeng with interest. “Young man, you have the guts for sales. If you apply, I’ll make the decision to hire you on the spot. We need someone in our sales department who can talk big without batting an eye.”
Zhao Qingfeng immediately nodded, seizing the opportunity. “In that case, can we have a proper talk? I have a few immature suggestions I’d like to discuss with you. Could you make an exception and give me some time? I think I can convince you.”
“Convince me? Ha, try!”
Manager Zhang couldn’t show weakness in front of so many people, or else wouldn’t he be overshadowed by a young kid?
Seeing his agreement, Zhao Qingfeng turned to look at Liu Li, still sitting in the conference room. “Sister Liu, please come out. Let’s have a private conversation.”
