Chapter 57: A Pilot for Brand Authorization (1/2)
Liu Li walked into the conference room bewildered and walked out just as confused. During the twenty-minute negotiation, she didn’t even know what she had said. In general, her words were all over the place, never hitting the mark.
Manager Zhang was greatly displeased and had already written off Li Ming Clothing in his mind.
As Liu Li left the conference room, she wanted to say something to Zhao Qingfeng, but he didn’t engage in conversation. Instead, he gestured for Manager Zhang to enter and sit down before following him in and firmly closing the door.
Liu Li sat down at a vacant desk, sighing softly.
Wang Qiuyue sat beside her, thinking of other methods, but her mind was in a muddle.
A few salespeople nearby saw this and came over to chat.
“You didn’t manage to negotiate, right? That’s normal.”
“Everyone knows our Manager Zhang has a bad temper. He likes to interrupt people, and his questions are always tricky.”
“Just yesterday, two companies came to negotiate, much larger than your small contract factory, but they were all sent away by our Manager Zhang.”
“My advice is that small factories like yours should look for brands that match your level. I’m not looking down on you, but Manager Zhang’s standards are really high, and it’s impossible for him to officially cooperate with you.”
Their words were harsh realities, discouraging in nature.
Wang Qiuyue lost confidence and whispered to Liu Li, “President Liu, maybe we should call him out and think of another plan…”
Liu Li didn’t agree.
She still had hope in Zhao Qingfeng.
The salespeople sensed this and continued to dampen her spirits.
“You don’t really think that young guy can convince our old Zhang, do you?”
“Not to mention anything else, just the age difference and life experiences make it impossible for them to connect.”
“Manager Zhang has even been abroad, he’s seen a lot.”
“I bet in less than three minutes, Manager Zhang will send him away, perhaps even in a rage. Did you see? The water dispenser in the corner was kicked and broken by Manager Zhang last time, and it’s still leaking water now.”
One disheartening comment followed another.
Liu Li’s confidence dwindled.
From the recent negotiation, she could sense Manager Zhang’s broad knowledge and experience.
His analysis of the market situation, discussions about light and heavy assets, sales distribution methods, and domestic and international economic comparisons were spot on. Could Zhao Qingfeng really handle it?
Liu Li waited while watching the time.
Zhao Qingfeng had entered the room at 10:10 AM.
She thought they would talk for at most 20 minutes.
But by 11 AM, Zhao Qingfeng still hadn’t come out. Occasionally, someone would open the door to get water, make tea, or fetch Zhonghua cigarettes from Manager Zhang’s office.
The salespeople continued to enjoy the spectacle.
“See, he hasn’t come out for so long. It must be because Manager Zhang is kindly teaching that young man how to behave!”
“I think so too. That young guy seemed a bit bold; maybe Manager Zhang is interested in coaxing him to join our sales department.”
“President Liu, not only did you fail to make a deal this time, but you might also lose a man in the process!”
Liu Li couldn’t help but worry.
Was Zhao Qingfeng using this opportunity as a stepping stone to gain benefits from a big company?
But on second thought, it seemed unlikely.
After all, Zhao Qingfeng had said his ambitions lay elsewhere; he just wanted to save some money for a different venture.
A myriad of emotions churned in Liu Li’s heart.
One moment she was hopeful for success, the next she felt doomed.
Wang Qiuyue had lost faith much earlier and sent the driver downstairs, ready to leave at any moment.
As they waited and hoped, hunger set in. By the time they checked, it was already 1 PM.
The salespeople also found it odd.
After lunch, the two were still not done?
It seemed that today Manager Zhang really met a potential sales talent he admired. He had personally trained such talents before.
Some salespeople couldn’t help feeling anxious. What if the two really struck a deal, and that young man suddenly became their junior supervisor? That would be too embarrassing…
