Chapter 34: Stand Behind Me
Yu Tian was stunned by Jian Ruo Ci’s hard slap. She covered her face, looked up at Jian Ruo Ci angrily, her eyes bloodshot. She covered her face with one hand and pointed at her with the other. “You bitch! How dare you hit me!”
“I hit you because I wanted to!”
Yu Tian had been focused on Jian Ruo Ci since she came in, not paying much attention to the man behind her.
She hadn’t noticed the sharp gaze behind her yet.
Her son, Yang Rui, looked at her with disgust in his eyes, unable to hide his disdain. His mother was acting like a shrew in the principal’s office.
Yang Rui said, “Are you embarrassed? I’ll handle my own business! Why are you making a scene at school?”
Being scolded by her son, Yu Tian felt a chill in her heart. She scolded, “You ungrateful child. Who am I doing this for?”
“Who? You’re doing it for yourself!” Yang Rui roared. “To get revenge. Don’t think I don’t know.”
“Go ahead and make a scene. Just transfer me to another school tomorrow.”
The principal stood aside, watching the three of them clash. He was helpless. He couldn’t persuade them. He couldn’t afford to offend either side. He knew the Yang family, but he didn’t know who was behind Jian Xu.
Yang Rui put his hands in his pockets and was about to leave. He stopped beside Jian Xu. “No matter what, you can never change the fact that your mother was a mistress and you’re an illegitimate child.”
After saying that, Yang Rui put his hands in his pockets and left.
“Stop!” Jian Ruo Ci coldly snorted.
Yang Rui stopped. Jian Ruo Ci pulled Jian Xu to stand in front of him. “Apologize!”
Fifteen-year-old Yang Rui was tall and stout, slightly overweight. He was taller than Jian Ruo Ci, who stood a head shorter than him.
Yang Rui pointed his finger at Jian Ruo Ci’s nose. “You better get out of my way, or I’ll beat you up too.”
Jian Xu exuded an aura of gloom. He grabbed Yang Rui’s finger and twisted it hard. Yang Rui frowned and cried out in pain.
Jian Xu grabbed his neck with one hand, his voice cold, like a vengeful ghost crawling out of hell. “Who are you pointing at?”
He tightened his grip. “Hmm? Who are you pointing at?”
“I’m asking you a question. Who do you want to hit? Speak!”
Yang Rui’s back felt cold. He couldn’t speak a word. He hadn’t seen Jian Xu like this when he insulted Jian Xu and his mother.
He felt that the young man in front of him was terrifyingly inhuman.
Jian Xu’s expression was cruel. His thin lips parted. “If you dare to touch her today, I’ll kill you.”
His eyes were gloomy. The principal and Yu Tian were both intimidated by Jian Xu. This wasn’t the kind of look a fifteen-year-old should have.
Yang Rui felt that Jian Xu in front of him was terrifying, like a devil crawling out of hell.
Jian Xu released him and kicked him in the stomach. Yang Rui staggered back a few steps and fell to the ground, clutching his stomach in pain.
Yang Rui was furious. His nose was already bruised and swollen. He got up from the ground clumsily, looking quite comical.
After getting up, he swung his fist at Jian Xu. Seeing her son being bullied, Yu Tian pulled the green plant out of the glass vase on the principal’s desk. She picked up the glass vase and ran towards Jian Xu.
The principal stepped forward to stop her, but he was pushed to the ground.
This was outrageous…
This was outrageous…
He was a principal, but he was so pathetic. He was letting a student and his parents fight in his office.
Jian Ruo Ci saw what was happening and didn’t hesitate to stand in front of Jian Xu. Yu Tian raised the glass vase and smashed it towards her head, her eyes filled with anger, her hand full of force.
She reflexively closed her eyes. The expected pain didn’t come. She opened her eyes and saw Pei Yan Zhou, who had come over at some point, grab Yu Tian’s wrist and forcefully flung it to the side. The vase in her hand fell to the ground and shattered into pieces.
Yang Rui was no match for Jian Xu. He was quickly pinned to the ground, with Jian Xu’s foot on his chest.
Noticing the commotion, Jian Xu quickly released Yang Rui and rushed to Jian Ruo Ci’s side. He grabbed her shoulders and looked her up and down. “Are you hurt?”
Jian Ruo Ci shook her head. “No.”
Jian Xu finally breathed a sigh of relief. Pei Yan Zhou looked at her. His gaze was no longer as gloomy and cold as before. It softened slightly. “Do you have a wet wipe?”
Jian Ruo Ci looked at him, stunned. Then, she pulled out a wet wipe from her bag and handed it to him. He took it, lowered his gaze, and used the wet wipe to wipe the hand that had grabbed Yu Tian’s wrist.
She blinked at him. “Do you have OCD?”
“Not really OCD.” Pei Yan Zhou said. “I just hate dirt.”
After wiping his hand, Pei Yan Zhou threw the wet wipe in the trash can. Jian Ruo Ci handed him another wet wipe. “Here.”
He took it, a hint of a smile playing on his lips. “You understand me.”
Jian Xu looked at Pei Yan Zhou, his expression grim. He looked at him with suspicion, his gaze cold as a blade, his eyes narrowed.
Yu Tian was intimidated by the grimness in Pei Yan Zhou’s eyes. She looked at her son, who was lying on the ground, beaten up. She rushed to the ground and hugged Yang Rui, venting her anger on the principal. “Is this how you educate your students at this school?”
Pei Yan Zhou’s sharp gaze pierced the principal. His deep, cold voice echoed softly. “As the school principal, you bully the weak and fear the strong.”
“You jump to conclusions without investigating the matter clearly. You made Jian Xu apologize. You want to sweep it under the rug.”
“As the principal, where is your integrity?”
“This position should be given to someone else.”
The principal was terrified, breaking out in a cold sweat. Yu Tian sneered. “Who are you? You have a big mouth. An illegitimate child beat up my son. Shouldn’t he apologize to my son?”
Although Yu Tian was a little afraid of Pei Yan Zhou, she couldn’t swallow her anger after being wronged today.
“You…” Jian Ruo Ci couldn’t stand it when people called Jian Xu an illegitimate child. She stepped forward, but Pei Yan Zhou grabbed her wrist. “Go back. Don’t get your hands dirty. Stand behind me.”
Pei Yan Zhou’s words seemed to have magic. She obediently stood behind Pei Yan Zhou.
His aura was gloomy and terrifying. He looked down at the two miserable people on the ground. “Why don’t you ask your son why Jian Xu only beat him up and not anyone else?”
“Don’t you know what kind of person your son is?”
“If I hear you call him an illegitimate child again today, I’ll make sure your son won’t be accepted by any school.”
Pei Yan Zhou curled his lips coldly. His gaze made Yu Tian’s scalp tingle.
Yu Tian searched her memory. She didn’t know this person. She hardened her heart. “You’re bullying the weak. Just you wait. I’ll call my husband over now. Then, I’ll make the three of you pay.”
“One Jian family’s unwanted eldest daughter, one illegitimate child, and you, a nobody with a big mouth.”
The principal felt sorry for Yu Tian. She was so naive.
Pei Yan Zhou’s cold eyes narrowed. “Your husband?”
“Yang Qin.” Yu Tian saw Pei Yan Zhou’s expression change and thought he was scared. “It’s not too late to be afraid now. The three of you kneel down and apologize to me and my son. I’ll reluctantly let the three of you stay in Beijing. Otherwise, I’ll make sure you can’t step foot in Beijing.”
“Oh, really?” Pei Yan Zhou sneered. “Then let’s wait and see.”
When Pei Yan Zhou turned around, his expression softened. He put his arm around Jian Ruo Ci’s shoulders and walked towards the sofa. “Please watch the show.”
“Hmm?” Jian Ruo Ci was confused.
Jian Xu looked at the hand on Jian Ruo Ci’s shoulder. He wanted to chop it off. He stepped forward and pulled Pei Yan Zhou’s hand off Jian Ruo Ci’s shoulder. “Don’t touch her.”
