Chapter 40: What’s the Point of This Attack?
Looking at the silver and bronze equipment, Wu Shaochen blinked. This is like exposing this guy’s underwear, huh? But since I’m already lucky, and with the first kill and the double drop rate scrolls, it’s not surprising to get so many drops. The best part is that nearly all of it is usable by me, so this wave is definitely an upgrade. After swapping everything, my power will at least double. As for the black iron equipment, I can’t even be bothered to look at it.
After checking the equipment, Wu Shaochen turned his attention to the skill books…
[Deep Strike]: Consumes 80 MP. The dagger strikes the target with a powerful blow, dealing 160% physical damage and silencing the target for 3 seconds. During the silence, the target cannot cast skills. Cooldown time: 1 minute. Class requirement: Assassin.
[Weakness Strike]: Consumes 100 MP. Deals critical damage to the target’s weak points. This damage ignores defense and always results in a critical hit. Cooldown time: 3 minutes. Class requirement: Assassin.
“Whoa, these two skills dropped? Finally, I’m not just an assassin relying on poison anymore,” Wu Shaochen muttered to himself.
Since entering the game, he hadn’t faced any enemies with defense, but now, with the upgraded equipment and these two offensive skills, he could finally perform like a normal assassin.
Wu Shaochen quickly learned both skills, adding them to his skill bar.
After learning the skills, he checked the remaining items one by one. Among them, one was a [Bodyguard Scroll], which grants invincibility for 10 seconds, and another was a [Random Teleportation Scroll], which teleports the user to a random location within 1 kilometer. Both were useful for survival.
Then, there were two [Agility Fruits], which permanently increase agility by 10 points each. Wu Shaochen eagerly consumed them, as these were always valuable.
Next, he came across three unfamiliar items. One was an old parchment scroll, which, when unrolled, displayed a description: [Treasure Map]: A map marking the location of a treasure. The map shows a treasure chest, clearly indicating the treasure’s location, but Wu Shaochen didn’t recognize the area on the map, and there was no label indicating where it was. It probably required him to explore the area.
The next item was a [Treasure Chest Key], which was described as “Used to open treasure chests.”
“Could it be the chest marked on the treasure map?” Wu Shaochen wondered, before storing the key in his bag.
Finally, there was a strange potion. He didn’t recognize it, but Wu Shaochen had a hunch that this potion was something special.
[Unsealing Potion]: Can解除解除 the class requirements for equipment and skills.
“!!!”
“Whoa, this is the good stuff!” Wu Shaochen became instantly excited. At first glance, it seemed like nothing special—just a potion that removes class requirements for equipment, which didn’t seem all that useful, especially for a character like an assassin using a staff.
But the real value of this potion was that it could解除解除 skill class restrictions! Many great skills couldn’t be used simply because the character wasn’t the right class, and that had always been a huge pain for Wu Shaochen.
For example, he still had a [Barbaric Charge] skill book in his inventory, which was a warrior skill. However, with this potion, he could learn it. Of course, he didn’t need that particular skill, but in the future, when he found a skill he wanted but couldn’t learn due to class restrictions, this potion would be invaluable.
Excited, he stored the potion in his bag and began to equip his new gear. Nearly all of his equipment had been swapped out, leaving only the silver wolf king ring. He replaced the attack speed ring with the silver wolf king ring since it added about 200 more critical strike chance, while the attack speed ring didn’t.
In just ten minutes, the Black Wind Village had provided him with a full set of equipment. Now, besides his pants, nearly all his gear was at least bronze level.
After equipping everything, Wu Shaochen saw that he had 40 free attribute points. He immediately assigned all of them to Root Bone. He then checked his stats again.

With these stats, his power had nearly doubled. His physical attack shot up to over a thousand, but seeing this high attack, Wu Shaochen scratched his nose. Does high attack really matter if my poison is stronger?
Sigh “What good is this attack if I don’t get to use my poison properly?”
Wu Shaochen opened the auction house to check the prices of black iron equipment. In just ten minutes, he had sold 4 pieces of black iron gear, mostly priced between 40,000-60,000, though with so many players now farming black iron gear, the prices were bound to drop.
He quickly sold his [Wild Boar King Armor] and [Wolf King Helmet] for 20,000 each. Both were low-level black iron pieces and not worth much anymore.
After waiting two minutes, the two items were sold. Wu Shaochen then posted his [Bear King Bracelet], [Attack Speed Ring], and eight other black iron items, all for a total of 60,000, as their attributes were superior to most black iron gear on the market. He had no doubt they’d sell quickly.
Sure enough, all ten items were sold within minutes, earning him 540,000.
