Chapter 27: Isn’t This a White-Eyed Wolf?

Gu Yan Zhi stared at Ruan Yu’s face, speechless.

Ruan Yu finished applying medicine to the wound on the back of his hand, looked up at him, “I guess you want to ask why I treated Jiang Chen like that. He hurt you, he deserves to die. Actually, I can protect Yan Zhi Ge Ge too.”

Her soft, boneless arms wrapped around Gu Yan Zhi’s waist, her cheek pressed against his chest, feeling his heartbeat, she felt an unusual sense of peace.

Gu Yan Zhi’s chest rose and fell slightly, “Thank you for protecting me, A-Yu.”

Gu Yan Zhi’s magnetic and pleasant voice came from above her head.

“The soup A-Yu made today was delicious,” Gu Yan Zhi said, “If only I could receive soup delivered by A-Yu herself next time.”

Ruan Yu looked up at him from his arms, reached out and pinched his waist, “So you wanted me to deliver soup all along.”

Gu Yan Zhi hummed in agreement.

Ruan Yu smiled sweetly, “No problem.”

At dinner, she told Gu Yan Zhi about her idea of opening a coffee shop. Gu Yan Zhi didn’t object, but he was worried that Ruan Yu would be too tired. In the end, he agreed after Ruan Yu’s persistent persuasion.

Ruan Yu was like a child who had just eaten candy. She hugged Gu Yan Zhi, kissed his face several times, and happily picked up her phone to tell Mu Luoxi the good news.

“Yan Zhi Ge Ge, can you help me find a shop?” Ruan Yu didn’t know much about this, she didn’t know which location was good.

Gu Yan Zhi picked up some food for Ruan Yu, “I have a ready-made one here, just need to renovate it.”

When she arrived at the company building, the receptionist didn’t stop her, she kindly showed her the way. Ruan Yu guessed that Gu Yan Zhi had specifically instructed them.

She got into the elevator, and as the elevator door was about to close, a handsome hand stopped it. The elevator opened again, and a man with a痞气 (playful) look walked in. His gaze lingered on Mu Luoxi’s face for a few seconds before moving away.

Ruan Yu caught the disdain in his eyes when he looked at her.

The receptionist saw the man and said, “Mr. Shen.”

Ruan Yu recognized the man. His name was Shen Yu. She had seen him a few times at the Gu residence before. He was one of Gu Yan Zhi’s few friends.

“Oh, isn’t this the white-eyed wolf? What kind of tricks are you up to now, offering your services for no reason?” The quiet atmosphere in the elevator was broken by Shen Yu’s words. His brow was filled with disdain.

He said this for two reasons. One, he was standing up for his friend, feeling that he was being wronged. The second reason was that he hated scheming women from the bottom of his heart.

The receptionist beside him lowered her head, not daring to say anything. One was a regular customer who could come and go as he pleased, the other was a girl who the CEO had specifically instructed to let in. If they said the wrong thing and offended someone, it wouldn’t be good.

Ruan Yu knew that Shen Yu was standing up for Gu Yan Zhi, and she didn’t care about his words, “Do you want some soup? I brought enough for two.”

Shen Yu was confused by her nonsensical words, he curled his lips into a carefree smile and pointed at himself with his finger, “Are you asking me?”

“Who else?” Ruan Yu blinked at him.

Shen Yu put his hands in his pockets, “Forget it, I’m not like Gu Yan Zhi, I’m afraid of being poisoned.”

He was not polite to Ruan Yu.

The elevator door opened, Shen Yu stepped out of the elevator, and Ruan Yu followed closely behind. The receptionist in the elevator breathed a sigh of relief. The thick gunpowder smell in the elevator just now made her afraid to breathe deeply.

When they arrived at the office, Shen Yu didn’t knock and went straight in. Gu Yan Zhi, behind his desk, frowned in displeasure, “Don’t you know how to knock?”

Shen Yu shrugged, “We’ll talk about that later.”

He sat down on the sofa, crossed his legs, “Your little lover is here.”

Because he walked faster and left Ruan Yu behind, Gu Yan Zhi didn’t quite understand what he meant.

The key was, where did he get a little lover?

The office door was knocked on. Gu Yan Zhi’s voice was faint, “Come in.”

Ruan Yu pushed the door open and entered. When Gu Yan Zhi saw her, he was both surprised and delighted, “A-Yu.”

Gu Yan Zhi left his desk and walked to Ruan Yu, he reached out and pinched her cheek, his eyes filled with affection.

Shen Yu glanced at the two lovebirds beside him with disgust. Today was really not a good time to come.

Gu Yan Zhi pulled Ruan Yu to sit on the sofa, seeing Shen Yu’s disgusted look, he frowned, “Not leaving? Are you being a light bulb?”

She tilted her chin, one hand lifting Gu Yan Zhi’s chin.

It looked like a scene from ancient times, a playboy teasing a beautiful woman.

Gu Yan Zhi grabbed the hand that was lifting his chin, pulled it hard, and Ruan Yu fell into his arms, “A-Yu, what if I haven’t eaten enough?”

He stared at Ruan Yu’s lips, the emotions in his eyes were unclear.
