As the pregnancy progressed, Wang Jinhe’s belly grew larger and larger. Although she was only four months pregnant, her belly was as big as others at five or six months with a single fetus. Su Yu worried about Wang Jinhe’s health every day. After discussing matters with the agricultural officials for a certain period of time each day, he would send people to take her to rest.
Wang Jinhe was indeed a bit tired. When Su Yu came over, she didn’t say much and watched him dismiss the agricultural officials.
The agricultural officials knew about Wang Jinhe’s condition and naturally wouldn’t cause any trouble with Su Yu at this time.
“Madam, we’ll take our leave.”
“Alright. If you need anything, you can find Yuan Bao or Qiu Yi.”
“Thank you, Madam.”
After they left, Su Yu began to make Wang Jinhe rest.
“You don’t have to handle everything personally. You can just tell them what to do,” Su Yu said discontentedly, frowning at Wang Jinhe.
“Some things I have to explain to them personally,” Wang Jinhe said helplessly.
Su Yu didn’t know what to say to Wang Jinhe at that moment.
“Let’s not talk about this. Go and rest for a while,” he said.
Rubbing her own waist, she said, “I really should rest for a while.”
After Wang Jinhe fell asleep, Su Yu quietly left the room. Outside, he saw Xiao Bao and Xiao Zhi peeking inside carefully.
Seeing Xiao Bao and the others, Su Yu waved for the four children to follow him to the garden.
“What were you all doing just now?” Su Yu asked as he looked at them.
Xiao Bao grinned sheepishly and said, “Daddy, we just wanted to see Mommy, but since she was resting, we didn’t go.”
Xiao Zhi nodded in agreement. “Yeah, we wanted to see Mom.”
In reality, they wanted to talk to the little baby in Mom’s belly.
“We want to see the little brother and sister,” Hong Yi said in a childish voice.
“Uncle, when will the little brother and sister come out? I want to play with them,” Chang Le eagerly asked Su Yu, looking at him with a face full of longing.
Su Yu looked at the four children, feeling helpless. “You little ones really want to see your little brother and sister that much?”
All four nodded simultaneously, their bright eyes conveying their anticipation for the baby.
Su Yu rubbed his forehead. “It will probably take some time. It’s only been over four months.”
“It’s still a long way off.”
“Since you’re free, go to the study and let me see how well you’ve been studying lately.”
Upon hearing Su Yu’s words, the children were not happy, but Hong Yi anxiously spoke up, “I want to go too, I want to go too.”
Seeing him eagerly agreeing, Su Yu said, “Alright, let’s go together.”
Carrying Hong Yi, Su Yu took the three children to the study and began to test them on what they had learned recently.
Su Yu was quite satisfied with their performance and was pleased with their diligence.
“Let’s go get your rewards,” Su Yu said, taking the four children to another room to get their gifts. Chang Le received a cute rabbit plush toy, Hong Yi got a small dinosaur different from Xiao Zhi’s, and Xiao Bao and Xiao Zhi received other toys.
“Thank you, Daddy.”
“Thank you, Uncle.”
“Go and play.”
After arranging the children, Su Yu finally breathed a sigh of relief. He had finally sent the children off to play.
Su Yu had intended to attend to his own matters after sending the children off to play, but Nan Qiao hurriedly ran in from outside, looking as if she had seen a ghost. His appearance surprised Su Yu.
“Have you seen a ghost? Why are you running?”
“Brother Yu, it’s not that I’ve seen a ghost, it’s that Boss Chen has arrived,” Nan Qiao said nervously.
Nan Qiao wasn’t afraid of Boss Chen, but he didn’t like it when he lectured them every time. Moreover, this time they had come to find Su Yu without informing Boss Chen , so it would be strange if he didn’t scold them when he saw them.
Su Yu looked at Nan Qiao with a wry smile. “What’s there to be afraid of when I’m here? If Boss Chen ask if you’ve caused trouble, you haven’t caused any trouble for me by coming here. Why would he scold you?”
Nan Qiao thought about it and realized that Su Yu was right. They had been obedient by his side and hadn’t caused any trouble for him.
Feeling reassured, Nan Qiao nodded.
“Let’s go and meet Boss Chen,” Su Yu said, leading Nan Qiao outside.
As they walked into the courtyard, they saw Boss Chen walking in from outside.
Chen Jue narrowed his eyes when he saw Nan Qiao by Su Yu’s side. “Running away as soon as you see me. Have you caused trouble again?”
“I didn’t cause any trouble, Boss Chen, stop making baseless accusations. Why are you here?” Nan Qiao said, getting annoyed.
Boss Chen was really annoying.
“Boss Chen is here. Come and sit down,” Su Yu spoke at the right time.
“Have they caused trouble for you by coming here?” Chen Jue asked Su Yu, looking at him.
These guys were quite capable, but they were even more worrisome than those kids from Yin’s Group. They were troublemakers through and through. If left unattended, they might even poke a hole in the sky.
Su Yu shook his head with a smile. “No, you know that Nan Qiao and the others always listen to me. How could they cause trouble in front of me?”
Chen Jue gave Su Yu an exasperated look. “You spoil them. You’ve spoiled them to the point where they have no discipline.”
The younger ones like Nan Qiao had unpredictable personalities. Since they met Su Yu, someone had been able to manage them, but Su Yu had also indulged them, making them more willful.
They would get whatever they wanted as long as Su Yu could find it for them. Chen Jue was truly worried that he wouldn’t be able to control them in the future.
“Boss Chen, I think you’re just jealous of how well Brother Yu treats us,” Nan Qiao said, feeling so annoyed. How could there be such an annoying person?
“Boss Chen came all the way here just to talk to Brother Yu about this? That’s too much,” Nan Qiao said.
Su Yu comforted Nan Qiao by patting her shoulder. “Nan Qiao and the others are very well-behaved. Boss Chen, you don’t need to worry about anything.”
“Boss Chen, did you hear that? Brother Yu said we’re all well-behaved. You’re just worrying for no reason,” Nan Qiao said triumphantly.
Chen Jue sneered. “You actually believe comforting words? Nan Qiao, do I need to remind you of your own personality?”
Nan Qiao and the others were indeed obedient and would listen to whatever was said, but only if it was Su Yu who said it. They wouldn’t listen to anyone else, and they would even turn against them if they tried to intervene. Chen Jue was used to Nan Qiao’s words. If Su Yu said the sun rises from the west, they would agree.
It was nothing out of the ordinary.
“Boss Chen, what brings you here?” Su Yu asked Chen Jue.
Under normal circumstances, Chen Jue wouldn’t leave Forget Sorrow City, so his sudden visit must have a reason. After getting familiar with the people in Forget Sorrow City, Su Yu had heard that Chen Jue hadn’t left the city for a long time.
