Xu Yitong was over there having the time of her life, and everyone in the YY chat was cracking up.
“This girl is something else,” Awen chuckled.
“I’ve seen fans call Fish ‘Fish God,’ ‘Fei Xi,’ or ‘Bro Xi,’ but this is the first time I’ve heard someone call Fish ‘Little Yu.’ How old is she?”
Roy pinched his throat, mimicking Xu Yitong’s tone, and teased in a mocking voice: “Little Yu is the absolute best AD in the whole wide world~!”
Yu Ge turned his head, giving them a cold glance.
The expression on his face was completely gone, back to the usual ice-cold demeanor that showed no interest in anyone.
Awen looked him up and down, genuinely impressed: “The little sister is praising you like that, and you don’t even blush or flinch, no reaction at all? Are you completely detached?”
“Little Yu, even your brother Roy can’t help but say something to you,” Roy said boldly, slinging an arm over his shoulder.
Yu Ge shrugged him off.
Roy was baffled: “Your resolve is so unshakable—do you even know how to be happy anymore?”
Awen: “He might not know how to be happy, but he sure knows how to carry a girl in a solo match. Terrifying, really!”
Little C kept quiet, holding back.
Unshakable resolve?
Little C was starting to doubt his own perception.
Had he just imagined it?
No way… That expression on Fish’s face earlier was definitely a smile… unless it was a cold smirk?
But that didn’t seem right either.
Based on his understanding of Yu Ge, if the guy was in a bad mood, there was no way he’d tolerate Awen and the others teasing him like this.
But if he was in a good mood…
Then why was he putting on this act of cold indifference now?
A terrifying thought flashed through Little C’s mind—
Could it be that Fish is actually a closet goofball?
…
By the time Xu Yitong floated back to her seat, still giddy, she suddenly heard Will laugh: “This Changde Wan guy is really something—he’s live-streaming a replay analysis now, saying Fish is using hacks.”
Xu Yitong: “?”
She immediately grabbed her phone and logged into ZhanYu.
When she entered the stream, the chat was already a cesspool of insults and mockery.
[At this point, streamer should just call him ‘daddy’ and move on.]
[Bronze player accidentally wandered into a Challenger match, confirmed.]
[How the hell does your Lucian get solo-killed by a Jinx at level 3? Are you even human?]
[Hackerman Squidward Hackerman Squidward Hackerman Squidward, what a joke XD]
[Script user plus princess cat, fits the stereotype XD]
Xu Yitong felt her blood boil.
The streamer, Changde Wan, wasn’t showing his face.
A chibi anime character hung in the bottom right corner of the screen, and his voice was as grating as the paid gaming buddy she’d hired earlier—nasally and annoying.
He was replaying the match frame by frame, whining: “I admit I lost, but look at this play at three minutes.
The moment I cast my skill, he turns around. That movement is clearly hacks.”
Xu Yitong couldn’t take it anymore.
Her account still had a stash of unused coins, so she immediately picked the most expensive floating comment and unleashed a barrage:
[You pathetic cartoon, what nonsense are you spouting?]
[Can’t win fair and square, so you accuse others of hacking? Shameless much?]
High-level accounts like hers got a special notification when entering a stream.
Combined with the premium floating comment, she instantly became the most visible presence in the chat.
Will sounded puzzled: “‘Zheng De Hen Xing’? Whose account is this? So righteous?”
Little C, also spectating, chimed in: “Are you dumb? Obviously not one of ours. Didn’t you see the Conquer fan badge on her profile?”
Xu Yitong: “…”
As fellow League of Legends viewers, people in the chat quickly recognized her: [Isn’t this Conquer’s top donator?]
Jian Leng ignored her scathing comments and brushed it off: “What does Conquer have to do with this? Don’t stir up drama.”
Will: “No way, even Conquer’s top fan is here to watch the show.”
Yiyi: “Tongtong, is this your account?”
Xu Yitong admitted sheepishly: “Yeah, it’s me.”
“Wait, this is your account?” Will stammered. “Y-you’re a Fish fan?”
Xu Yitong: “I forgot to mention—Chen Yucheng is my cousin…”
Collective silence.
Back in the stream, Jian Leng was still analyzing Jinx’s movements frame by frame, trying to prove the opponent was a hacker.
A random viewer floated a comment: “Check WeChat’s Canyon Top mini-program. Look up who Squidward really is before you talk.”
[Holy shit? Just checked, it’s actually Fish’s smurf]
[????????????????]
[The one-word ‘Yu’—no further explanation needed]
[LMAO, streamer just called Fish ‘daddy’ and didn’t even know it. Take off the clown nose already.]
[Biggest joke of the year—accusing Fish of hacking. Clown, take care of yourself.]
Within minutes, the chat exploded, with the viewer count skyrocketing.
The mods couldn’t even keep up with banning people.
Jian Leng quietly closed the replay, didn’t dare utter another word, and ended the stream in record time.
Will tsked: “Ah, Fish’s fans are too OP. What a shame, no more fun to be had.”
Awen circled back to the earlier topic: “By the way, Xiao Zhen, you like Fish—does Conquer not mind?”
“What’s it to him? He’s my cousin, not my dad,” Xu Yitong replied without hesitation. “Even if my dad showed up, he couldn’t stop me from liking whoever I want.”
Silence…
Silence…
Xu Yitong quickly backtracked: “I mean, as a fan. You guys get it.”
Roy: “We get it.”
Little C: “We get it.”
Will glanced at the still aloof and indifferent Yu Ge, then belted out loudly: “Little Yu, Little Yu, the mightiest Little Yu~ If you dare to open your eyes and look at me~ I won’t believe your heart is empty~!”
In the YY chat, they took turns calling him “Little Yu,” teasing Yu Ge relentlessly.
With a face as thick as Xu Yitong’s, even she felt a bit embarrassed.
Ah, she really had no sense of restraint—how could she accidentally blurt out what was in her heart?
Flustered, she buried her face in her arms on the table, unwilling to take off her headphones…
As she squirmed, Xu Yitong couldn’t help but recall the CP videos she’d seen online of Yu Ge with someone else—back then, she’d been both furious and envious.
How the tables have turned.
Who would’ve thought that one day, Xu Yitong herself would become the subject of rumors with Yu Ge?
After eavesdropping for a long time, Yu Ge hadn’t uttered a single word.
He was really composed.
Hypocritically, Xu Yitong said, “Oh, stop teasing Yu Ge, he might get upset later.”
But in her heart, she thought, Don’t listen to me—keep teasing him!
The more jokes, the better.
Rumors would be ideal.
Remembering something, she straightened up and quietly picked up her phone to check.
The call with Yu Ge was still connected—nearly an hour now. But there was no sound on his end, as if he’d muted himself.
Had he forgotten to hang up?
Setting her phone to silent, she frantically took screenshots.
Afterward, in keeping with her mood, she changed her WeChat nickname again.
A message came in from the renovation company, scheduling a time for this Wednesday afternoon when the designer and an assistant would visit the shop in Xuhui to take measurements.
Xu Yitong replied with an “OK.”
This Wednesday…
Xu Yitong thought excitedly, Will there be a chance to see Yu Ge?
That day, I’ll have to dress up beautifully.
Just as she was lost in her happy thoughts, another message arrived.
She opened it.
-Conquer: [People in my livestream are saying they saw you arguing with Fish’s fans?]
Xu Yitong rolled her eyes.
-Conquer: [At a time like this, can you not piss off my brother? Yu Nu still hasn’t told Fish about me and her dating. I’m kinda worried—she wouldn’t just be playing with me, right?]
-Conquer: [What kind of brother is Yu Nu’s? In my life, Chen Yuzheng has never met someone more arrogant than me, but this is ridiculous. Last time after a match, I tried to smooth things over and went to greet him, but he straight-up ignored me? Can you believe it?]
Reading his endless complaints, Xu Yitong—
[I don’t know.]
[But how did you know Yu Ge played games with me today O.o]
After sending those two messages, the other person vanished.
……
Xu Yitong giggled smugly.
Sipping her milk tea, she savored the teasing remarks about Yu Ge from earlier.
After much deliberation, she decided to strike while the iron was hot and sent him a few messages.
-Happy Zhenzhen: Actually, I wasn’t calling you Xiao Yu earlier.
-Happy Zhenzhen: Even though you ignore me, I don’t mind at all. I even secretly gave you a really cute nickname—want to know what it is?
She waited five or six minutes.
In between, she exited the chat, reopened it, excited again, reopened—still no reply.
She couldn’t help but feel deflated.
He must not have seen it.
There’s no way he’s deliberately ignoring me.
Xu Yitong comforted herself like this.
After waiting a bit longer, she glared at her phone screen, fuming.
I have my pride. If Yu Ge doesn’t reply by midnight, I won’t message him for a whole week!!
Absolutely! Definitely! Never again!
Just as she made this vow, Yu Ge’s voice suddenly came through the headphones—
“What.”
Xu Yitong jolted, staring at her phone in disbelief.
He was still there.
In an instant, all her gloom and frustration vanished.
Then, she quickly realized—Yu Ge’s surroundings sounded quiet.
Taking off her headphones, she pressed the phone to her ear.
After listening for a few seconds, she confirmed: the noisy chatter from Awen and the others was gone.
He was alone now.
Not because of the game, no one else around—just the two of them on the call.
Her heart racing, she curled her lips and tentatively asked, “Did you step out?”
A soft thud came from the other end, as if something had lightly bumped into place.
Yu Ge replied, “Getting water.”
Words tangled in her throat. Suddenly, Xu Yitong felt too shy to speak.
Afraid he’d hang up, she mumbled, “Wait a sec.”
Xu Yitong silently typed.
After editing for a while, she nervously sent the message—
[The begonia is the big fish, Yu Ge is the little fish [peeking]]
“Is it cute? What do you think?” she asked softly.
After a long pause, Yu Ge replied, “Hmm.”
