Chapter 10: A Pleasant Collaboration
On the busiest Saturday night, Lin Xingmian’s official Weibo suddenly updated.
{Lin Xingmian V: The road of life is long and rugged, and it is a great fortune to walk it with you.}
A simple official announcement, accompanied by a photo of two hands holding a marriage certificate.
The bright red booklet nearly blinded a group of fans and passersby.
【Holy crap, what is this!!!】
【When did you start dating? How come Mom didn’t know!】
【Ahhh, my Xingmian! No no no no!】
【My white moonlight has become someone else’s husband~ I can’t believe it!】
The suddenness of the event left everyone momentarily stunned.
Girlfriend fans wailed through the night, vowing to uncover the little vixen who had seduced their white moonlight.
【Look at his rough hands, and then look at mine!! Xingmian, open your eyes and see!】
【His wrist bones are so big, his frame must be huge! Xingmian, didn’t you say you liked lively and cheerful Omegas? I’m cuter than him!】
【What a joke! Show his face! Let’s settle this!】
【Little bitch! Anyone who steals my husband deserves death!】
Mysteriously, Lin Xingmian’s Weibo turned into a beauty contest and denunciation zone.
Related hashtags were rising at an astonishing rate, directly hitting the real-time hot search list.
The top searches were all about Lin Xingmian.
#Lin Xingmian’s Lover Mr. Jiang#
#Lin Xingmian Announces Marriage#
#The Dream Lover of Thousands of Omegas Has Married#
#Who the Hell is Mr. Jiang!#
#Tang Corporation Employee Arrested#
#Golden Eagle Organizers Send Best Actor Trophy#
The internet was in an uproar, with various celebrities jumping on the bandwagon to send their blessings, causing the related hashtags to explode once again.
Lin Xingmian had a large fan base built up over many years, ranging from adults of all genders to undifferentiated teenagers.
Reactions varied, with most expressing surprise and congratulations.
After all, since his debut, Lin Xingmian had been diligent and hardworking, with very few scandals to his name. There was even a dedicated paparazzi who followed him for a while.
Lin Xingmian was either filming on set or staying at home, only going out to the nearby supermarket, gym, or park for a walk. His simple, monotonous life even made the paparazzi comment on his self-discipline.
And yet, this very person had quietly gotten married!
Everyone was curious about who had managed to win him over.
However, before fans could figure it out, the official account of “Couple Travel Diary” also posted, directly tagging Lin Xingmian and his civilian partner, Mr. Jiang.
{Couple Travel Diary: Love at first sight, still thrilling after long companionship. “Couple Travel Diary” is officially set to air on November 22nd. We will explore the marital relationships of couples during our travels, bringing them a new love experience.
Love rises in the east, romance never dies, see you on Friday.}
Netizens: !!!
【Wait, Lin Xingmian is so bold, directly announcing his marriage on a reality show! Xingmian must really love him!】
【Wuwuwu, I won’t watch it! I’d rather die than watch my white moonlight date another Omega!】
【No matter what, Xingmian has worked so hard to get here, I just hope he’s happy and not deceived by bad people again.】
However, there were also some negative comments.
【Isn’t it strange to suddenly get married and then immediately join a marriage reality show?】
【The marriage certificate only shows the cover, and the other person’s face and Weibo account aren’t revealed. Is his partner really that unworthy of being seen?】
【Look at this—they got married but didn’t hold a wedding, there’s no ring on their fingers, and even their honeymoon is being filmed for a variety show. Does Lin Xingmian really love his partner?】
【Right after getting married, he’s already pushing his civilian partner onto a marriage show to make money. Has he even considered whether his partner can handle the online backlash? He’s absolutely money-crazy!】
The internet was abuzz with speculation, while the subject of their discussions—Lin Xingmian’s partner—was busy moving in with a pile of luggage.
“Put these in the wardrobe over there, and place these toiletries with my beloved’s things,” Jiang Zijin n enthusiastically directed the professional housekeeping staff as they moved his belongings into Lin Xingmian’s apartment.
Lin Xingmian looked at the boxes piled up at the entrance and rubbed his temples.
He didn’t live in this apartment often; he had bought it on the advice of a senior colleague.
Since they were filming a show, he didn’t want to expose his actual residence.
There weren’t many of his belongings in this place either—he had only brought the essentials.
“We’re just doing this for the sake of filming. There’s no need to make such a big deal out of it,” Lin Xingmian said in a low voice.
“Tsk, half-truths are the hardest to decipher. Netizens nowadays are sharp-eyed. If they notice I’ve only hung a few clothes here, they’ll start spreading rumors about our relationship being rocky,” Jiang Zijin n reasoned logically.
Lin Xingmian didn’t respond further. He silently returned to the sofa and let them continue.
As the apartment gradually filled with unfamiliar items, Lin Xingmian felt a strange sense of unease—it was as if they were really living here.
Including his early days as a rookie extra, Lin Xingmian had played hundreds of roles, portraying relationships as husbands or partners with various actors.
When acting, he could fully immerse himself in the character and detach just as quickly.
He was acutely aware that he and the character were different people. All he had to do was empty his mind during the performance and use his body to convey the character’s soul and thoughts.
But this time, he was playing himself—the lover of an Enigma.
For him, this was an entirely new experience.
Lin Xingmian shook his head, reviewing the fabricated love story he had created for the two of them, along with some of his own hobbies and preferences.
It wasn’t until the aroma of food wafted into his nostrils that he snapped out of his thoughts.
The housekeeping staff had left at some point, and the dining table was now steaming with warmth.
“What are you thinking about? The food’s ready,” Jiang Zijin n said, carrying two bowls of rice from the open kitchen.
Lin Xingmian stood up and walked over to the table.
The table was laden with dishes: glossy braised prawns, blanched lettuce, braised tofu, scrambled eggs with tomatoes, and soy sauce chicken wings.
The familiar aroma tantalized his taste buds, and Lin Xingmian couldn’t help but swallow hard. He reached out and handed a document to Jiang Zijin n .
“Here’s the document you need to review. Please look it over as soon as possible—we don’t have much time left.”
Jiang Zijin n chuckled, taking the document from him. “Can I eat first? The housekeeper worked so hard on this meal. At least let me have a bite.”
Lin Xingmian didn’t reply. He simply pulled out a chair and sat down.
Jiang Zijin n immediately understood, set the document aside, and took a seat across from him.
The two of them silently picked up their chopsticks and began eating, the only sound in the air being the quiet chewing.
Lin Xingmian’s expression was slightly awkward as he focused on the food in his bowl.
He hadn’t shared a meal with someone at the same table for a long time. His schedule was too hectic, and he usually just ordered takeout. Even when he had time, he cooked and ate alone. He couldn’t even remember the last time he had dined with someone.
A glossy braised chicken wing landed in his bowl. “You should eat some meat. Even though I bought the food, you don’t have to be so polite with me.”
Jiang Zijin didn’t act like an outsider at all. He ate quickly yet elegantly, and a small pile of chicken wing bones had already accumulated beside his plate.
Lin Xingmian scoffed and placed the last two chicken wings into his own bowl. He didn’t even realize whose house he was in—who was being polite here?
Jiang Zijin smiled and asked, “How is it? Not bad, right?”
Lin Xingmian took a big bite of the juicy chicken and mumbled, “It’s alright… but not as good as what I can make.”
Jiang Zijin raised an eyebrow, his eyes filled with amusement. “Then you’ll have to show off your cooking skills sometime. Let me see the culinary level of the great actor Lin Xingmian.”
Lin Xingmian glanced at him but neither agreed nor refused.
The meal was decent, and Lin Xingmian even ended up overeating. He sat back in his chair, feeling a bit dazed.
“Since I’ve moved in here, we might as well go all the way with this act,” Jiang Zijin suddenly said.
The man, who now held a black velvet box in his hand, slid it across the table toward Lin Xingmian.
Lin Xingmian stared at it blankly for a moment before opening it without much thought.
A dazzling light caught his eye.
Inside was a pair of minimalist yet luxurious couple’s rings.
The larger ring, designed for a man, had no main gemstone. Instead, it featured a white diamond embedded in the front, set on a sleek silver band.
The other ring was similar in design, but at its center was a pure and radiant pigeon-blood ruby, refracting a mesmerizing glow under the warm light.
It resembled a vibrant, deep red rose—or perhaps a beating heart.
Lin Xingmian looked puzzled, unsure why Jiang Zijin had given him the rings.
“I saw online that many people pointed out we weren’t wearing wedding rings. To avoid giving the internet any ammunition to attack us, I decided to buy a pair on a whim,” Jiang Zijin explained in a low, serious tone.
Lin Xingmian was taken aback, realizing he had overlooked such an important detail.
Despite his seemingly carefree personality, Jiang Zijin was unexpectedly thorough in his actions.
It seemed he was quite serious about securing the inheritance of Jingsheng.
“Alright, then we…” Before Lin Xingmian could finish, Jiang Zijin took his hand and slowly slid the ring onto his ring finger.
The cool metal brushed against his skin, and Lin Xingmian looked up, meeting a pair of clear, blue eyes.
The light-colored irises were tinged with warmth, and the shimmering surface of those eyes reflected his own face, as if they were filled with deep affection.
The ring fit perfectly, resting snugly at the base of his finger.
Lin Xingmian withdrew his hand, his fingers curling slightly.
No wonder he was of Italian descent—his ability to charm seemed ingrained in his genes.
Jiang Zijin extended his hand without hesitation, his tone commanding yet natural. “Now it’s your turn to put mine on.”
Lin Xingmian sighed and reluctantly picked up the ring, quickly sliding it onto Jiang Zijin ’s finger. “There.”
The man smirked, raising his wine glass.
“Then let’s toast to our… triumphant success and a fruitful partnership.”
“A fruitful partnership,” Lin Xingmian echoed.
