Su Niannian’s spiritual spring space was divided into several sections. One part of it was left wild and barren, another was planted with fruit trees and vegetables, and another section was used for various items like chairs, stools, and other belongings, with a bed in one corner.
The areas for planting and storing things were off-limits to the little one. The only place the child was allowed to roam freely was the barren land.
It was rather dull.
“I’ll take you out for a walk later.” Su Niannian knew that although the space here was large, the little one would still get bored being inside alone.
Anyway, she was planning to head to the back mountain to find Gu Nan soon, so it would be a good opportunity to let the little one get some fresh air.
“Huh?” Su Niannian suddenly realized that a new area had appeared in her space.
This area had previously been obscured by mist.
Su Niannian had tried to enter the misty region before.
She found that the visibility inside was extremely low, with nothing but the dense, indistinct fog all around. It felt like there was nothing at all there.
However, in the northwest corner, the mist had cleared up a small area.
A building, resembling a warehouse or factory, had appeared.
Su Niannian patted the little one on the head, signaling it to come along and check it out with her.
The little one was clearly very strong now. Although Su Niannian felt that there shouldn’t be any danger in this space, she still found the sudden appearance of the warehouse a bit strange.
The little one, without fully understanding, followed Su Niannian as she walked toward it.
When Su Niannian got closer to the warehouse door, she peeked inside.
It was a giant warehouse, looking like it was made from shipping container material, built with corrugated iron sheets.
It appeared quite simple.
However, inside, there were baskets and baskets of items neatly placed.
The little one stepped in first.
Su Niannian followed behind.
Inside, there were baskets filled with green peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes, green beans, potatoes, and sweet potatoes.
There were also bags of rice, wheat, sorghum, and corn.
These items matched the seeds Su Niannian had planted.
Su Niannian walked out of the warehouse and headed toward her planting area.
It was then that she realized the crops had actually been harvested and placed in the warehouse.
“The matured crops… were automatically harvested by the system and stored in the warehouse…”
This was something Su Niannian never could have imagined.
At first, she had thought that she would need to pick the crops one by one herself, sort them out, and then take them out to sell.
But she never expected that this space would be so convenient, with a feature that automatically harvested the crops.
The grains weren’t threshed, but they could already be sold like this.
It seemed like she would have to make a trip to the county town tomorrow.
The 350 yuan she had spent earlier was down to just over 130, so selling some of these items would help boost her financial reserves.
Thinking about how her money would soon increase, Su Niannian couldn’t help but smile.
“I’ll take you out later.” Su Niannian said to the little one.
The little one nodded knowingly, as if understanding her words.
Su Niannian turned and left the space.
After exiting from the Educated Youth camp, she headed toward the back mountain.
When she reached the back mountain, after more than ten minutes, she let the little one out.
The little one had waited so long that the flowers had already withered.
Once released, it ran around freely, enjoying itself.
At this time, Gu Nan had already set up several traps on the mountainside of the back mountain, waiting to catch wild boars.
There were signs of wild boar activity in the area, and Gu Nan had killed two wild rabbits, using their blood to attract the boars.
Su Niannian and the little one were still quite far from Gu Nan’s location, and neither side noticed anything unusual.
Although the little one was large in size, it was surprisingly agile. Su Niannian walked slowly deeper into the mountains, with the little one’s hunting taking place not too far from her.
Before long, the little one had caught three wild chickens and a wild rabbit.
Each time it brought them to Su Niannian, she would swiftly collect them and toss them into the space.
After the little one had played for more than two hours, Su Niannian had already reached the deeper part of the mountains.
The little one seemed to sense something, letting out a tiger-like roar to signal Su Niannian to come over.
When Su Niannian walked over, she saw the little one standing amidst a pile of weeds, its head lowered, sniffing at something.
Su Niannian walked over and crouched down to take a look at the little one’s discovery.
At that moment, her eyes brightened.
“Ginseng? You actually found ginseng?” Su Niannian said, smiling with joy.
This was an incredible find!
The little one proudly lifted its head, clearly seeking praise.
Su Niannian patted the little one, saying, “You did great!”
Su Niannian then took out a small brush from the space, planning to dig up the ginseng.
However, the ginseng appeared to be only a few years or maybe over a decade old.
It would be a bit of a waste to dig it up now.
Su Niannian also considered using spiritual spring water to water it, which might help the ginseng grow faster.
But the process would definitely not be fast.
Thinking about it, Su Niannian decided to dig a larger area. Without damaging the roots, she planned to take the entire clump of soil with it and transplant it into the space.
With this method, not only could she irrigate them with spiritual spring water, but it would also accelerate their growth.
When they reach a century-old age, she could dig them up and sell them. Wouldn’t that be a huge profit?
Once the idea came to mind, Su Niannian acted immediately. There were six ginseng plants in front of her, all of similar size, and she moved them all into the space.
Then, she returned to the space with the little one. She planted the six ginseng plants carefully and watered them with the spiritual spring water.
To her surprise, the expected problem of adapting to the new environment didn’t happen. Instead, their branches and leaves became even stronger.
“Not bad, not bad!”
“You have to watch over them, don’t let them get damaged!” Su Niannian said to the little one.
The little one nodded and patted its chest with its front paw.
It was as if it was saying, “Leave it to me, no problem!”
Su Niannian smiled. The little one was truly remarkable, even finding ginseng.
After leaving enough spiritual spring water for the little one, Su Niannian left the space.
As Su Niannian wandered aimlessly, looking for Gu Nan, she suddenly heard a deep tiger roar.
The sound came from the other side of the mountain, faintly carrying a familiar scent.
Su Niannian’s heart stirred, and she quickly moved toward the direction of the sound.
After walking for a while, she saw some wild animal footprints, indicating that active animals were nearby.
She quickened her pace, following the footprints deeper into the mountain.
From halfway up the mountain came the wild boar’s tragic cry.
This sound… Su Niannian felt certain it was made by Gu Nan while capturing the wild boar.
She quickened her pace and hurried towards the halfway point of the mountain.
The flashlight in her hand was also turned on by Su Niannian.
Although the light was somewhat dim, it was still faster than walking in complete darkness.
When she was nearing the halfway point of the mountain, Su Niannian smelled a strong, pungent scent of blood.
At first, Su Niannian wasn’t too worried, mainly because she knew Gu Nan was skilled and could easily handle wild boars and the like.
However, as soon as Su Niannian heard the wolf howls, her heart began to grow more and more anxious.
“Awooo!”
“Roar…”
The wolf howls echoed, one after another, growing louder and more frequent…
