Chang San couldn’t help but feel a bit emotional. The County Princess’s reputation and prestige were truly remarkable. In the past, many had tried to acquire that piece of land, but negotiations had always fallen through. Not only had they failed, but they had also been driven away by the Village Chief. Since then, no one had dared to pursue that land, yet it had now fallen into the hands of the County Princess.
“Now that the land is secured, I’ll go back and inform my men. Once we have everything prepared, we’ll notify you before commencing work,” Chang San said.
“Alright, thank you for your efforts,” Wang Jinhe replied. She had their best interests at heart, and they were determined to assist her in any way they could.
Wang Jinhe had initially planned to have the two men stay for a meal, but they both declined. She could only have some vegetables picked for them to take with them.
After seeing them off, Wang Jinhe continued with her other tasks. She was so engrossed that it was almost sunset.
Su Yu had some business matters to attend to, so he went to check on them. Upon returning, he found Wang Jinhe still busy. Sitting down, he expressed his dissatisfaction, “Have you rested today? Why are you still busy at this hour?”
“Today, Boss Yang brought a craftsman to discuss building the granary. We’ve also selected a location for the warehouse. It’s a bit far from here, so I’m thinking of building some houses there. The guards can stay in the granary when on duty and return to rest when off duty. What do you think?” Wang Jinhe asked Su Yu.
Su Yu naturally wouldn’t say that Wang Jinhe’s idea was wrong.
“It’s good as long as you’re happy, but they will need to undergo training, so they probably won’t be back for a while,” Su Yu replied.
“Shouldn’t we arrange for a few cooks for them? Otherwise, it will be a problem to feed so many people,” Wang Jinhe frowned.
However, there weren’t many people with trustworthy culinary skills.
“You don’t need to worry about that. There are several veterans who can cook. We can have them handle the meals,” Su Yu reassured her.
Wang Jinhe felt relieved upon hearing this.
After giving it some thought, she looked at Su Yu and asked, “Shouldn’t we go and check on the soldiers? It’s been a long time since we returned, and it might seem like we’re neglecting our duties.”
“Let’s go together tomorrow. It’s too late today, and you should rest,” Su Yu suggested.
“Alright.”
As they were speaking, Yuan Xu, who had gone to pick up the children, returned with them.
Seeing the four children looking a bit dispirited, Wang Jinhe asked in surprise, “What’s wrong with you?”
“The tutors that our parents found for us are just too strict. They are really scary,” Xiao Bao said, still feeling uneasy.
The academic tutors were manageable, but the martial arts tutors were truly terrifying.
No matter what your status is, as long as you are a student of the academy, you shouldn’t even think about skipping martial arts training.
“Mommy, you don’t know that many people have had to be supported out of the academy. Our martial arts tutor is really terrifying,” Xiao Bao said, swallowing hard.
Before Wang Jinhe could respond, Su Yu spoke up, “The person teaching you martial arts is the martial arts champion from ten years ago. He also served as a general but grew tired of the officialdom and resigned to return home.”
Upon hearing this, Xiao Bao and Xiao Zhi immediately perked up. “Daddy, you’re amazing! You managed to get the martial arts champion to teach us?”
Wang Jinhe looked at Su Yu with surprise. She hadn’t expected him to be so influential, to have even secured the presence of the martial arts champion.
“Since we’re looking for someone to teach, we naturally have to find the best,” Su Yu replied.
After giving it some thought, Wang Jinhe looked at Su Yu and asked seriously, “How many champions are there among the tutors for Xiao Bao and the others?”
“Is it four or five? One of them was a prime minister,” Su Yu replied.
Wang Jinhe looked at Su Yu in shock. “A prime minister?”
Su Yu nodded with a smile. “That’s right. The true head of the academy is him. He only teaches the class of Xiao Bao and the others. As for the other classes, they don’t have that privilege yet.”
Wang Jinhe shook her head in amazement. “You’re really something. How did you manage to get the prime minister to come?”
How did he do it? This was truly impressive.
“I lured him with our family’s vegetables and fruit wine,” Su Yu said with a smile as he explained the situation to Wang Jinhe.
After listening, Wang Jinhe silently gave Su Yu a thumbs up. This person was truly remarkable to be able to pull off such a feat.
“His teaching will only bring benefits to Xiao Zhi and the others, not harm,” Su Yu added.
“Of course, I know. I’m now thinking about one thing. If people knew that all the tutors in our academy are hidden talents, do you think more students would come to enroll?” Wang Jinhe asked.
Su Yu nodded confidently. “Definitely. After all, not everyone can hire renowned teachers.”
“The tutors here in the academy are mostly scholars or retired officials. The difference in their teaching methods compared to the ones I’ve brought in is too great to even compare,” Wang Jinhe remarked.
“That’s true. But in that case, the tuition fees…” Wang Jinhe began.
“It’s a simple matter. We can charge less for the children of common families, and the wealthy students who come seeking fame definitely won’t be charged the same. Otherwise, it would make the tutors seem less valuable. The old prime minister probably wouldn’t be pleased if he found out,” Su Yu said, sounding like a child who always fusses over everything, even when he’s old.
He didn’t seem to mind the embarrassment.
Wang Jinhe wholeheartedly agreed with Su Yu’s approach. “You’re right. It should be done this way.”
“I’ll discuss with the old prime minister about how to handle this,” Su Yu said.
“Alright.”
After listening to the conversation for a while, Xiao Bao couldn’t help but speak up. “Daddy is truly amazing. He was able to invite so many outstanding tutors. Others definitely couldn’t have done it.”
Seeing Xiao Bao’s proud expression, Xiao Zhi couldn’t help but laugh, and Hong Yi also nodded in agreement. “Brother is right. Uncle is the most amazing.”
“Why are you all so sweet-tongued today?” Su Yu raised an eyebrow and asked, teasingly.
“We’re just speaking the truth. Brother, don’t you agree?” Xiao Zhi nodded in agreement, acknowledging that their Father was indeed very capable, more so than anyone else.
“Do you have homework?” Su Yu asked.
Upon hearing this, all the children, except for Hong Yi, drooped their heads. “Yes.”
“Then go and do it. After you’re done, you can come out for dinner,” Su Yu instructed.
“Okay.”
Hong Yi also went to the study room to do his homework with the other children.
After the children had all left, Su Yu said, “I was initially worried that they might not adapt well to life at the academy, but now it seems that, aside from being a bit tired, everything else is fine.”
“The children have been practicing martial arts with you for a year or two. They have more resilience than other children, and I believe their tutors should understand the concept of moderation and won’t let the children get hurt,” Wang Jinhe added.
“The students in the other classes don’t have the same treatment. Only Xiao Bao’s class is this demanding,” Su Yu remarked. The teaching progress and workload varied across all the classes at the academy, and Xiao Bao’s class was naturally the most challenging and tiring.
