Chapter 12: Advancement to Golden Core
Anran slapped his forehead, almost fainting.
The inner core of the Red Rock Python helped Xia Chenyu absorb the poison. At the same time, during the collision with the Azure Dragon, it also absorbed part of its spiritual power. This directly helped Xia Chenyu break through his bottleneck, advancing to the Golden Core stage!
Seeing Xia Chenyu shake off his fatigue and become energetic, Du Ziming was genuinely happy: “Great! Truly, turning disaster into fortune.”
Anran, feeling a burst of anger with no place to release it, scolded him unhappily: “What do you mean ‘turning disaster into fortune’? If I hadn’t appeared earlier, he’d be dead by now.”
Du Ziming, who had been feeling guilty, heard this reprimand and thought, “What’s the meaning of this?” He also responded with some anger, “You, as the master, saw your disciple poisoned and did nothing. If you had intervened, would I have had to act?”
In the entire sect, no disciple had dared speak like this to the three supreme masters. Seeing the faint anger rising on Anran’s face, Xia Chenyu quickly grabbed Du Ziming’s sleeve and said, “Master’s actions must have a reason.”
In truth, Anran was not angry because of Du Ziming’s words. He was just frustrated because this person had disrupted his plans, and he couldn’t criticize him.
“What reason could there be?” Du Ziming retorted.
“The reason is of course to help Xia Chenyu,” came a voice before the person arrived. The three of them turned towards the door and saw a figure in a blue robe walking in.
Xia Chenyu tugged at Du Ziming’s sleeve, saluted, and said, “Master Uncle.”
“Azure Dragon’s spiritual power nourishes the spiritual meridians,” Lu Xiuyuan said with a light smile, glancing at Anran before turning to Xia Chenyu. “Your master here is just stubborn.”
Xia Chenyu nodded seriously. “When my meridians were unblocked, I also felt the damage had completely healed. After hearing Master Uncle’s words, I understood the reason.” He then raised an eyebrow and glanced at Du Ziming.
Only then did Du Ziming realize he had wrongly blamed Anran. Enlightened, he said, “I’ve wronged Immortal Master Lingyun, please forgive me,” and made a grand bow.
Anran felt that the situation was drifting further from his expectations. He clearly didn’t want to be the good guy, yet due to a series of misunderstandings, not only did he end up saving Xia Chenyu, but his earlier action of sealing his spiritual meridians with malicious intent was now seen by everyone as a good deed. How could he handle this?
He could only shake his head helplessly and say, “Forget it.” With that, he waved his sleeve and left.
