Jiang Qiongyin looked at Zang Ling, who had suddenly come back to the family residence, and teased, “Lingling, what brings you back today? Decided not to stay at the apartment anymore?”

Zang Ling sat beside her somewhat wearily. “Mother, you’re right. I’ll definitely come back often from now on. I promised you all back then, but I broke my word. I’m sorry.”

“You’ve only been gone for three days. That doesn’t count as breaking your promise. And your dad and I can take care of ourselves, so don’t worry.”

“I can’t help but worry,” Zang Ling said sadly. “It’s only been three days…”

The teasing expression on Jiang Qiongyin’s face disappeared. She turned to look Zang Ling over and frowned, “What’s wrong? Did you have a fight with Xiao Yan?”

Zang Ling leaned her head on Jiang Qiongyin’s shoulder and murmured, “I don’t know why, but lately he’s been a little cold towards me. Whenever he talks, it always feels kind of absent-minded. Jiang Qiongyin frowned even deeper. “Yan Wenshu suddenly started distancing himself from you? Without any reason at all?”

Zang Ling nodded gloomily. “I don’t think I did anything wrong. Just a few days ago, I even prepared a birthday surprise for him, and he seemed really happy.”

“Could I have unknowingly upset him? But why wouldn’t he tell me? Even when I asked him, he wouldn’t say anything.”

“Actually, I’m older than him, so I should be more tolerant,” Zang Ling said in frustration.

“Love is about mutual understanding and tolerance,” Jiang Qiongyin gently stroked her hair. “Maybe there are things you didn’t do well, but the way Yan Wenshu handles relationships… I don’t agree with it.”

“I do.”

“The things between them should be settled by themselves.” Jiang Qiongyin calmly took a sip of water. “Calm down. Lingling is my daughter too. I won’t let anyone hurt her.”

Zang Xiuming was troubled, “So we’re just going to stay out of it?”

“Stay out of it. Lingling knows what she’s doing. Has she ever really made us worry?”

“…When she comes back, I want to have a talk with her.”
