Chapter 9: The Successful Stolen Kiss
He Yinhui knew that Luo Tiancheng usually woke up late, so he didn’t visit until noon, bringing a lot of nutritional supplements with him. “Hello, how are you doing now?”
Luo Tiancheng couldn’t help but smile brightly when he saw him. “Brother He is here! Sit here. Have you eaten?”
“No, I didn’t wake up much earlier than you, so I’m not hungry at all right now.”
“Then I’ll order two portions of takeout later, and you can eat with me.”
“Sure.”
“It’s cafeteria food. Can you handle it?”
“It’s fine. I’m not that picky. You know, when I didn’t see you online yesterday, I thought you were mad at me.”
Luo Tiancheng gestured a hole the size of a bowl on his chest. “I’m not that petty. My heart is this big.”
“What the heck? Is that the Black Tiger Clawing Heart?”
“Hahahaha!”
He Yinhui reminded him, “You can’t do live streams these days. Make sure you’ve taken leave.”
“I already took leave this morning, and I have the hospital report and proof.”
“That’s good. What about the driver who caused the accident?”
“He’s already been detained by the police, and his family is responsible for the compensation.”
“Drunk driving is really unacceptable!”
“Yeah, the penalties are so strict now, but some people just don’t listen, harming others and themselves.”
As they chatted, Qin Yue came in and asked, “How’s the recovery?”
“Hello, Doctor Qin. I feel fine, nothing out of the ordinary.”
“Good. If there are no major issues, you can be discharged tomorrow.”
“Okay.”
Before leaving, Qin Yue glanced at He Yinhui.
When lunch arrived, Luo Tiancheng ate with He Yinhui.
Compared to the silence of the past few days, the two of them talked and laughed more today.
Luo Tiancheng was grateful that even though He Yinhui had dreamed of being kissed twice, he didn’t dislike him for it. This person was really kind.
After finishing the meal, He Yinhui helped him clean up and asked, “Why isn’t there anyone staying with you?”
“…I don’t need anyone to stay. I can move around on my own. If you weren’t here, I could use a crutch to take out the trash.”
“Don’t you have any friends to stay with you?”
“Mainly, I don’t need it.”
“…”
He Yinhui could tell that Luo Tiancheng had a hard life. Given his family situation, he probably didn’t have many suitable friends.
“How about I stay with you?”
“No! If you stay with me for a day, how many Rockets would you miss out on? That’s too much of a loss!”
“…”
He Yinhui sat down and looked at him seriously, asking, “Have you always been like this?”
“…Like what?”
“On your own.”
“…”
Luo Tiancheng bit his lip, then forced a smile and said, “It’s fine. I’m used to it. You don’t need to worry.”
He Yinhui suddenly asked, “Are you seeing anyone?”
“…No. I’m doing well enough just taking care of myself. And since I was young, I’ve never known what it’s like to like someone. I guess I’ve never had the energy to think about that.”
Luo Tiancheng swallowed half of what he wanted to say: “Except after meeting you.”
It was true. He had never liked anyone before, but suddenly, he liked He Yinhui.
To change the subject, Luo Tiancheng asked, “What about you? You’re famous, handsome, gentle, and come from a good family. You must have someone, right?”
“…We broke up.”
“I’m sorry…”
“It’s fine. It’s been several years.”
Luo Tiancheng was curious about why they broke up and even more curious about what kind of person He Yinhui liked, so he continued, “Since it’s been several years, haven’t you thought about finding someone new?”
“I don’t want to date anymore.”
“…Oh.”
Luo Tiancheng really wanted to ask why, but he felt that asking too much might make him angry, so it was better not to inquire.
After He Yinhui left, Luo Tiancheng zoned out for a long time.
He actually wanted to keep He Yinhui around, but their current relationship wasn’t close enough for that.
Before Qin Yue left work, he came to see Luo Tiancheng, who then remembered the mission.
The Dream Connection required a photo, but he didn’t have a picture of Doctor Qin on his phone.
After Qin Yue left, he opened the official website of the city hospital and downloaded Qin Yue’s work photo.
To survive, he had no choice but to complete the mission.
Luo Tiancheng planned to stealthily kiss Doctor Qin in the dream without anyone noticing.
Before sleeping, he adjusted the settings and turned on the Dream Connector.
After entering the dream, Luo Tiancheng arrived in Qin Yue’s Dreamscape.
It was a vast, endless white space with no entrance or exit.
Luo Tiancheng walked for a long time before finding Qin Yue. He was sitting on the white floor, holding a few photos in his hand.
Following the plan, Luo Tiancheng pretended to fall, exclaiming, “Doctor Qin, Doctor Qin, please help me up! My leg is broken! It hurts so much, it hurts so much!”
Hearing the voice, Qin Yue rushed over and helped him up by supporting his arm.
Seizing the opportunity, Luo Tiancheng aimed for Qin Yue’s lips and planted a quick kiss.
Qin Yue widened his eyes in confusion, about to ask, but Luo Tiancheng had already pressed the exit button and escaped the Dreamscape.
“Phew, that was close. If I had been two seconds late, would he have hit me? I saw him clenching his fist…”
Fortunately, his phone notified him that the mission was complete. His remaining lifespan was 66 days and 19 hours, with 2882 Game Coins.
New Mission 12: Kiss He Yinhui in his arms for more than ten seconds. Mission Reward: Life Extension of six days, 720 Game Coins.
Ten seconds? Luo Tiancheng’s eyes nearly popped out! The previous missions were all sneak attacks, but how was he supposed to manage ten seconds? The missions were getting harder and harder, weren’t they?
The main issue was: the harder missions used to offer better rewards, but now the missions were getting more difficult while the rewards remained the same.
Luo Tiancheng zoned out for a while, muttering softly, “Heaven is out to get me…”
He looked at the items in the Game Coin exchange store. 2888 could buy divination tools, but what use were they? Could they prevent car accidents?
Or should he save up for Mission Navigation?
Invisibility seemed quite useful too, sneaking in to complete missions late at night when people were asleep didn’t seem like a bad idea…
After looking around, it seemed like Navigation might be more useful.
There were other people in the ward, and the sound of snoring occasionally came from nearby.
Luo Tiancheng turned over, gently moved his casted leg, and changed his sleeping position.
Since he couldn’t think of a solution, he might as well sleep.
…
After dawn, Luo Tiancheng continued his routine of eating, sleeping, and playing small games when bored.
In the afternoon, he suddenly received a call from the company’s operations, expressing concern about his injury. Then, they mentioned that they wanted to package Wuyue Qingfeng as the face of a gaming blogger because his skills were good enough. But the prerequisite was that he had to attend official offline events.
Luo Tiancheng was reluctant, but the company promised to arrange the best makeup artist for him, ensuring he would look very handsome and unrecognizable to acquaintances.
Naturally, Luo Tiancheng was tempted and said, “I’ll think about it.”
He called He Yinhui and explained the situation. He Yinhui thought it was feasible: “With today’s makeup techniques, they could practically give you a whole new head. Here’s what you can do: if you really need to do offline promotions, just wear a wig. That alone will make it hard for anyone to recognize you. Then, with some additional makeup, you won’t have to worry at all.”
“Alright, what kind of wig should I wear then?”
“The least recognizable would probably be long hair… How about a straight black wig?”
“…”
