Nan Pei Crashes into Song Jingchen’s Arms
Nan Pei glanced at his phone, and the popping message made him feel a bit breathless. Why did it have to be now?!
Seeing his strange expression, Duan Heng’s gaze fell on his phone, and he frowned slightly, asking, “What’s wrong?”
Nan Pei tightened his grip, discreetly hiding the phone behind him and slipping it into his pocket. As he put his hands behind his back, he quickly took off the watch on his left wrist and quietly placed it on the chair behind him. Then, he shook his head and said, “Nothing.”
He couldn’t refuse Duan Heng’s offer to see him off. That would ruin his persona.
So, Nan Pei controlled his nervousness and smiled, “Let’s go, Xiao Duan.”
He acted normal, as if the odd moment earlier was just Duan Heng’s imagination.
As they walked out of the training room, Nan Pei deliberately started a conversation, “Xiao Duan, you played really well today.”
Duan Heng didn’t respond.
“Though the competition is tough,” Nan Pei smiled at him, “with your current state, as long as you train well, there’s a chance to advance.”
He was trying to divert Duan Heng’s attention.
Sure enough, Duan Heng frowned and said, “A chance? I said TKT will definitely advance.”
In a few words, they had already left the training room.
“Xiao Duan, having confidence is good. I just hope this competition goes smoothly,” Nan Pei explained softly, “but you shouldn’t underestimate your opponents, right?”
Duan Heng’s tone was a bit displeased as he looked at Nan Pei, “Don’t you believe in me?”
Duan Heng wanted to prove his strength to Nan Pei, so he tried hard to perform well in the game today. But Nan Pei still seemed unsure about TKT’s chances of advancing, which upset Duan Heng.
They were still a distance from the club’s entrance. The door was ajar. Through the gap, Nan Pei could see a sleek black sports car parked outside—it was Song Jingchen’s car.
The next second, the car door opened. A pair of long legs stepped out, indicating Song Jingchen was already impatient from waiting.
Nan Pei quickly looked away, focusing on Duan Heng, who was paying attention to him, and said, “Xiao Duan, I believe in you. With you here, TKT will definitely advance.”
Hearing Nan Pei’s affirmation, Duan Heng’s mood improved.
At this moment, Nan Pei suddenly raised his hand, glanced at his empty wrist, and feigned a realization, saying to Duan Heng, “Xiao Duan, I was so busy chatting with you that I accidentally left my watch in the training room.”
Hearing this, Duan Heng frowned, sounding a bit annoyed, “Why are you always so careless?”
Last time, Nan Pei hurriedly left the club and left his watch in the room. When Duan Heng went out to find him with the watch, Nan Pei drove off without a word. Duan Heng remembered this vividly.
This time, he left his watch in the training room again. Out of curiosity, Duan Heng had checked the watch’s price—it was at least nine figures. Such an expensive watch, and Nan Pei just left it lying around?
“Xiao Duan, could you help me get it?” Nan Pei showed a troubled expression, softly requesting, “I’m in a hurry, I have a business meeting tonight, so I need to get my car from the garage.”
Duan Heng’s attention was entirely on Nan Pei. He didn’t notice the figure at the door. Duan Heng pursed his lips, his tone cold and proud, “This is the last time I’ll help you.”
Nan Pei quickly showed a grateful look, “Xiao Duan, thank you…”
Duan Heng’s face remained expressionless, but he decisively turned and walked back towards the training room.
As Nan Pei moved towards the door, he kept glancing in Duan Heng’s direction. Only when Duan Heng’s figure disappeared around the corner did Nan Pei feel relieved, turning and quickly running to the door.
He had to leave quickly!
However, as soon as Nan Pei turned, he crashed directly into a firm, warm embrace.
Half a minute earlier, Song Jingchen, impatient from not receiving a reply from Nan Pei, got out of the car to wait. Through the door gap, Song Jingchen could see Nan Pei talking to someone beside him. But the gap wasn’t wide enough to see who it was, probably just a club staff member.
Seeing that Nan Pei wasn’t coming out, Song Jingchen grew more irritated and decided to stride into the club.
As soon as he entered, he saw Nan Pei slowly moving towards him, constantly looking back, completely unaware of his presence.
Song Jingchen stopped, watching Nan Pei’s actions, a hint of confusion in his eyes—what was he doing?
When Nan Pei finally reached Song Jingchen, he suddenly turned and quickened his pace, causing him to crash hard into Song Jingchen’s chest.
Song Jingchen, hit by Nan Pei’s force, instinctively stepped back and reached out to steady Nan Pei’s waist.
Both were stunned.
Nan Pei didn’t expect Song Jingchen to appear at the club so quickly.
Song Jingchen looked at Nan Pei’s surprised eyes and their intimate posture, his heart suddenly racing.
This scene was just like when Nan Pei saved him in front of the sports car.
It left Song Jingchen at a loss, his body temperature rising.
An unknown emotion quickly surged in his chest.
Meanwhile, in the training room, Duan Heng had already found the watch Nan Pei left behind. He picked it up, ready to return it to Nan Pei.
