Li Yiyi couldn’t help but laugh at her reaction, “Is it really that exaggerated? I’m not giving you some rare treasure. Is it really worth showing such a happy expression?”

“Of course it is! Li Comrade, you have no idea, your pills are so precious that even money can’t buy them. Outsiders don’t know, but I do. Your pills are great—really great—so amazing,” Gu Weiwei said seriously, praising the pills.

Li Yiyi looked at her as she earnestly praised the pills, and she felt a sense of relief in her heart.

“I’m honored. These pills are meant to deal with poisonous creatures like snakes and insects. Just one can neutralize a hundred poisons. Keep them safe. We’re likely to encounter some poisonous animals and insects during this trip, so it’s better to be prepared,” Li Yiyi said.

“Mm-hmm, I understand. I’ve also brought some detoxifying things, but they surely aren’t as good as the ones you gave me, Comrade Li. I’ll always keep these pills on me,” Gu Weiwei said trustingly.

After finishing their conversation, the two of them grabbed the items they bought and quickly left the restaurant.

What they didn’t know was that there were two other customers sitting at a nearby table, who had overheard every word of their conversation.

“Old Gu, did you hear what those two ladies just said? Do you think there really is a pill that can neutralize all poisons?” one of the men asked.

“Maybe. The world is vast, and there’s always something strange. But I still think neutralizing all poisons is impossible. Anyway, this doesn’t concern us. Let’s hurry up and finish eating, then head to Wushan to see why Old Sun and the others haven’t returned after going into the mountains for so long,” the other man replied.

“Right, let’s stop talking and eat quickly,” the first man said.

Meanwhile, Li Yiyi and Gu Weiwei returned to their hotel with their bags full of items.

They went up to their rooms and parted ways since their rooms were on opposite sides of the hallway.

Li Yiyi had just put everything down when she heard a knock at the door.

She sighed, set her empty cup down, and walked over to open the door.

“What’s going on?” Li Yiyi asked in surprise as she saw Gu Weiwei standing at the door with her bags, looking a bit red-eyed.

“Li Comrade, could you let me stay with you for the night? I knocked on my door many times, but no one answered. I don’t know if they’re asleep or just ignoring me,” Gu Weiwei said, her voice filled with helplessness.

Li Yiyi nodded and let her in.

Once the door was closed, Li Yiyi looked at Gu Weiwei’s pitiful expression, as though she had been abandoned by her roommates, and sighed. “Do you want me to go knock on their door again? I don’t believe they’re asleep, not hearing all the knocking.”

Gu Weiwei shook her head. “Forget it, they just don’t want me to stay. I didn’t expect them to be this cruel, not opening the door when I went out.” She puffed out her cheeks in frustration.

“Well, I guess I’ll have to share my bed with you tonight. You don’t mind, right? Actually, I don’t mind sleeping on the floor if it’s necessary. As long as there’s a place to sleep, I’m fine,” Gu Weiwei said quickly, worried that Li Yiyi might object.

Li Yiyi smiled. “It’s fine. I never said you couldn’t sleep here. We’re both women, so I’ll be generous and let you have half of my bed.”

Li Yiyi didn’t mind because she liked Gu Weiwei’s personality. If the two of them were to share the bed for a couple of nights, it wouldn’t bother her.

“Thank you so much, Li Comrade. If you weren’t here for this mission, I don’t know what I’d do,” Gu Weiwei said, running up to her and giving her a tight hug, her eyes red.

Looking at Gu Weiwei’s soft personality, Li Yiyi sighed and pulled her hand. “Are you really going to just swallow this resentment?”

Gu Weiwei didn’t understand what Li Yiyi meant and blinked, looking confused.

Li Yiyi, seeing this, continued, “They bullied you, kicked you out of your room, and now you’re just letting them get away with it? We can’t let them off the hook so easily. At least we need to let them know they can’t mess with us.”

Gu Weiwei’s face became anxious as she asked, “What should we do?”

“Of course, we’re going to take back our dignity. Let’s go, I’ll take you to talk to them properly. Otherwise, they might really think you’re afraid of them,” Li Yiyi said, pulling Gu Weiwei by the hand out of the room.

Soon, they arrived at a closed room.

Gu Weiwei tightly grasped Li Yiyi’s hand. “Li Comrade, are we really going to confront them? What if they want to fight us?”

“Why be afraid? If they want to fight, then let them. We’re both women, and if it comes to a fight, neither of us will lose,” Li Yiyi said confidently, then turned to Gu Weiwei and asked, “Have you ever been in a fight?”

Gu Weiwei’s eyes sparkled with excitement as she heard the question, shaking her head immediately. “No, I’ve never fought before. My two brothers protected me when I was little, and no one in our neighborhood dared to mess with me. Is fighting fun?”

Li Yiyi noticed the excitement in her eyes and smiled, sensing that Gu Weiwei was a bit too eager.

“I’m not afraid. I trust you, Li Comrade,” Gu Weiwei replied, her eyes still shining brightly.

Li Yiyi smiled, still a bit concerned, and taught her a few tactics for fighting women. “Remember, if they really try to fight, just grab their hair and pull it.”

“Got it. I’ll do that,” Gu Weiwei said, rubbing her hands together, eager to dive in.

“Are you ready?” Li Yiyi asked with a smile.

Gu Weiwei nodded vigorously. “I’m ready.”

Seeing this, Li Yiyi chuckled and went up to knock on the door. She politely knocked a few times, but, just as Gu Weiwei had said, no one answered. The room was as silent as a tomb.

After waiting for a while, seeing no one come to open the door, Li Yiyi smiled deviously. This time, she knocked harder and shouted, “Are the people inside dead? If not, come out and open the door! Let us know someone’s in there, or I’ll have someone break it down!”
