Chapter 25 – Business Is Back
The others also looked at her in unison.
Yan Qiao had already made up her mind: “Burn it down.”
“Huh? Burning down such a big villa will attract attention, won’t it? What if the police come looking for you?” Su Min was a little worried.
But Yan Qiao gave her a reassuring look. “It won’t. I’ll take care of it.”
In fact, she had already pasted quite a few talismans inside the house just now.
This villa had absorbed too much yin and dark energy. If it remained, who knows what kind of misfortune it could bring.
Besides, the location of this mansion was already suspicious.
There weren’t any other houses nearby. Surrounding it were several large locust trees, and it was close to the suburbs.
She had just checked—the cemetery wasn’t far from here.
…
…
No doubt, the original decision to build the house in this spot must have been influenced by some malevolent forces. This place naturally attracted negative energy. Combined with the interior layout, it was simply malicious to the extreme.
Seeing her so certain, the others finally felt at ease.
“Ah Qiao, how are we going to burn it? Should I go light the fire?” Yan Hao, who was quite bold, volunteered.
“No need. I’ll do it myself. I have to recite incantations too,” Yan Qiao declined calmly.
Half an hour later, the villa began to burn. What felt strange to everyone was that it burned completely silently. By now, the sky had completely darkened. There weren’t any streetlights in the area, and in the darkness, a roaring fire burned fiercely. The scene itself was eerie and a little frightening.
No one knew what exactly Yan Qiao had done.
But their respect for her visibly deepened.
By the time they returned to their own villa, it was already 9 PM.
But Mu Yunzhe still hadn’t woken up.
Li Xiao had to ask, “Ah Qiao, he’s still unconscious. Could something be wrong?”
“No. Just place this protective talisman back on him. The previous ones probably lost their effectiveness. He’ll wake up after a good sleep,” Yan Qiao said calmly. She glanced at the sleeping Mu Yunzhe and couldn’t help but feel a bit sympathetic.
Truly unlucky.
Thankfully, he had paid respects to the ancestral master earlier and donated a significant amount of incense money. With the ancestral master’s blessings, it hadn’t gotten worse. Unfortunately, he still wouldn’t be able to rest anytime soon…
“Alright, that’s good.”
After a brief pause, Yan Qiao reminded him again: “We went to a place heavy with yin and dark energy today. Pick a few pomelo leaves from the courtyard and boil them in water to bathe. It’ll ward off the evil energy.”
“Then wear the protective talisman close to your body.”
“If you feel any more discomfort, let me know immediately,” Yan Qiao instructed seriously.
After all, this was a major merit case, a VVVVIP client—she had to maintain excellent service.
“Okay,” Li Xiao agreed.
Today had once again reshaped his perception of her.
This young girl, despite her age, really had the skills! He felt as though he’d regained a sense of hope in life. He definitely needed to properly thank the master who had directed him to her.
There were two pomelo trees planted in the courtyard out front, so it would be easy to grab some leaves later.
Yan Qiao wasn’t aware of what he was thinking. After giving her instructions, she returned to her room.
She still had to burn incense for the ancestral master. And there was something very important she had to do.
After such a major event today, the entire Su family had essentially been wiped out—except for Su Min.
Seeing such horrifying scenes, Su Min’s mood must have been severely affected.
She hadn’t spoken much on the way back, just leaned against Yan Zhentian the whole time.
Yan Zhentian was very worried about his wife. Yan Hao and Yan Chen were also concerned about their mother.
“Take some pomelo leaves and bathe to wash off the bad luck. Otherwise, you might fall ill. After you’re done, keep the talisman close to your body,” Yan Qiao reminded her family as well.
Finally, her gaze fell on Su Min, and her voice unconsciously softened. “Pretty mom, come with me.”
Hearing her daughter call her, Su Min finally snapped out of her daze and pulled herself together.
“Okay.”
Su Min followed her beloved daughter into the nearby guest room.
It was the room where the ancestral master’s memorial tablet was kept.
Yan Qiao grabbed two floor cushions, which were called putuan in the Taoist temple.
“Pretty mom, would you like to offer a stick of incense to the ancestral master?” Yan Qiao left it to her choice—such matters couldn’t be forced.
“Yes.” Facing her precious daughter’s request, of course Su Min would agree.
She picked up an incense stick and lit it.
Standing in front of the ancestral master’s tablet, she bowed respectfully before offering the incense.
Yan Qiao also lit incense afterward.
Silently, she prayed about the events that had occurred today.
The incense burned with an unsteady flame. Yan Qiao knew the ancestral master was warning her that there were still many people using dark forces to satisfy their own greed.
She might encounter even more dangerous cases in the future.
He was reminding her to stay alert.
Over the past eighteen years, she had spent most of her time in the Taoist temple and hadn’t had to handle too many things on her own.
It was only natural that the ancestral master would worry.
But Yan Qiao wasn’t overly concerned—perhaps because she was still young and fearless.
Still, since the ancestral master had warned her, she nodded to show that she understood and accepted the message.
She sat down and motioned for Su Min to sit beside her.
“Close your eyes and calm your mind.”
Yan Qiao’s voice was low and steady.
Su Min followed her instructions.
Before long, she heard Yan Qiao begin to chant softly.
Su Min felt her previously heavy and stifled emotions gradually easing, and the oppressive feeling above her head slowly dissipated.
She let out a long breath and suddenly felt her whole body relax.
After about half an hour, Yan Qiao finally stopped.
She waited for Su Min to open her eyes.
“Ah Qiao, I feel so much better. You’re amazing!” Su Min said emotionally.
At the same time, a strong sense of pride and joy surged in her heart.
Her daughter really had the ability! She was definitely not some scam artist like those outsiders claimed!
“Go take a bath, then get a good night’s sleep,” Yan Qiao said as she stood up. Today’s matters were finally settled.
However, she had used up a lot of talismans today. She’d need to draw more later to replenish her stock.
“Okay. You should rest early too.”
Back in their room, Yan Zhentian had already bathed and was waiting for his wife. To say he wasn’t worried would be a lie.
The door turned, and Su Min walked in.
Yan Zhentian immediately noticed that her demeanor was completely different from when she’d first returned.
“Minmin, are you alright now?” Yan Zhentian came over and gently embraced her shoulders.
“I’m much better. Our daughter is amazing! Though she usually doesn’t talk much, she really cares about us. Just now, she chanted a spell for me for half an hour. I think it was some kind of calming incantation.”
“After she finished, I immediately felt better. It was magical.” Su Min shared the recent events with her husband.
Yan Zhentian nodded.
He felt deeply comforted.
The next day, around noon, Yan Jue finally returned—bringing Shen Zhiyin with him.
Just in time for lunch. He had called in advance, saying he wanted to properly thank Yan Qiao.
It was also the first time the two sisters-in-law were meeting.
Su Min had already asked the housekeeper to prepare the meal.
And unusually, Yan Qiao hadn’t gone out that morning.
Because she had already predicted—business was coming again.
