A Model Student?
“Give it.” Shen Sichen gritted his teeth and spat out the word, casually putting the photos in the drawer, a smile playing on his lips, “Deduct it from your year-end bonus.”
Wei Chuan, who was about to agree, instantly changed his expression, “Don’t, boss, if you deduct it, I won’t have a year-end bonus for twenty years.”
Wei Chuan said with a grin, “Don’t be angry, we’ll get back at him later and help you get revenge, sell his boss’s black material to their competitors…”
……
In the blink of an eye, it was afternoon, Jiang Younian had called the school in advance to say that someone would be attending in his place, and the school leaders were waiting at the entrance of the auditorium to greet him.
The car stopped, Wei Chuan got out and ran over to open the door for him, “We’re here, boss.”
Shen Sichen got out of the car and nodded slightly to the row of school leaders.
Everyone passing by stopped, separated by the cordon, their eyes all focused here, people in the crowd occasionally made low conversations and laughter.
There were many people in the auditorium, the buzzing sound was a bit hypnotic, Shen Sichen rested his arm on the armrest of the chair, his fingers pressed against his temple, rubbing it, closing his eyes to take a nap.
The auditorium suddenly fell silent, first a burst of music, then the host spoke, boring and noisy, no wonder that kid didn’t want to come.
“Next, please welcome the outstanding student representative – Zhou Xingyang, to give a speech.”
The applause thundered and then quieted down, followed by a series of footsteps.
“Respected leaders, teachers, dear classmates, hello.”
The moment this voice sounded, Shen Sichen slowly opened his eyes and looked at the person on the stage.
It was her.
Zhou, Xing, Yang… her name is pretty good.
Unlike the sharpness and embarrassment that day, she was standing in front of the podium, her hair tied in a ponytail, a smile on her face.
She must have recognized him, and her eyes were full of terror when she looked over, as if she had seen something terrifying.
This is kind of fun.
Zhou Xingyang originally looked calmly at the audience in the hall, the faint smile on her lips suddenly froze when she met his gaze.
That look, filled with surprise, confusion, and a hint of amusement.
It made her shiver.
The microphone was knocked by her moment of panic, emitting a sharp and piercing whistle.
Zhou Xingyang immediately retracted her gaze, suppressing the panic in her heart and calming herself down.
The five-minute speech seemed to be stretched infinitely long, finally she said the last sentence.
Zhou Xingyang took two steps to the left and stepped off the podium, bowed to the audience, then quickly exited.
“What’s wrong, Xingyang, why are you leaving in such a hurry?” Xia Shu was organizing things backstage, seeing her almost running over, she asked.
Zhou Xingyang shook her head, picked up a bottle of water, was about to twist it open and drink, then brought it closer to take a closer look at the mouth of the bottle.
“Nothing, maybe I was a little nervous just now.” After confirming that there was no problem, Zhou Xingyang opened the lid and took a sip, “Can we go back now?”
Xia Shu said, “Maybe not yet, the teacher said there’s a group photo session later.”
“By the way, it’s only a few days before the holiday, aren’t you going home?”
Zhou Xingyang, who was helping her organize the documents on the table, said, “I’m not going back, the round-trip fare is a bit expensive, I applied to stay at school, I’ll find a summer job later.”
“Okay.” Xia Shu pulled her down to sit.
“By the way, did you see the person in the first row, C position, when you were giving your speech? I heard he’s the newly appointed chairman of the board of directors, I just saw someone say in the group that he’s very handsome.”
Zhou Xingyang paused, remembering that disgusting face, she frowned and whispered, “He’s a wolf in sheep’s clothing.”
“What?” Xia Shu didn’t hear clearly, she was about to ask again, when a lazy voice suddenly came from behind them, the upward inflection at the end of the sentence carried a hint of weariness.
“Is that so? A model student?”
Zhou Xingyang turned her head, and instantly, like a startled rabbit, she subconsciously wanted to hide, she frowned in disgust, “What are you doing here!”
She pretended to be calm, but there was a hint of guilt in her voice, as if she had been caught swearing behind someone’s back, but thinking about it carefully, he was the one who should be feeling guilty for doing something wrong.
Shen Sichen just smiled at her, a curve appearing at the corner of his lips, he had originally planned to come and apologize, but it turned out she was swearing behind his back.
“Boss, why are you here!”
Wei Chuan came over, he felt that the girl opposite Shen Sichen looked familiar, as if he had seen her somewhere.
“Mr. Shen is here, I heard you were saying you wanted to see him.”
Shen Sichen looked at her angry but dare not speak out appearance, his mood was inexplicably happy, he turned around and glanced at Wei Chuan.
The two of them walked a little further away, Xia Shu leaned over to Zhou Xingyang’s ear and whispered, “Xingyang, who is he?”
Zhou Xingyang said slowly, with anger, “Dog.”
“Ah?!” Xia Shu had never seen her be so malicious to anyone before, then she said to herself, “He’s quite handsome, the person next to him is also pretty good, is he his assistant?”
Zhou Xingyang: “Lapdog.”
The voice, which wasn’t deliberately lowered, accurately reached their ears.
Wei Chuan looked at Shen Sichen in confusion, “Boss, is she scolding us?”
Shen Sichen asked back, “Go back and ask her?”
Wei Chuan immediately shook his head, “Mr. Shen is in a meeting, he said you should wait in the office first.”
“Then why were you so anxious to find me just now?!” Shen Sichen kicked him.
Wei Chuan nimbly dodged, “Was I? I was just afraid I wouldn’t be able to find you.”
“Why did you run to the backstage for no reason, what if Mr. Shen finished the meeting early and you were late?”
Shen Sichen was too lazy to listen to his nagging, he glared at him and told him to shut up.
Wei Chuan led him to the lounge next to the meeting room, Shen Sichen leaned back on the sofa and started to rest, he could faintly hear Shen Yanheng talking next door through the wall.
After a while, Wei Chuan heard the sound of applause, and quickly woke him up.
But Shen Yanheng had already pushed open the door and came in, “Didn’t get enough rest last night?”
The secretary behind him stopped at the door and guarded it, Wei Chuan saw this and retreated.
Shen Sichen sat on the sofa and yawned, “Where’s the time to rest? The Yanhua project is tight, I have to keep an eye on it.”
“Did you fight with someone the other day?” Shen Yanheng asked again.
“Big brother—” Shen Sichen called out, he lay down on the sofa with a look of despair, “I just stepped on him a few times, it’s good that I didn’t kill him.”
“He drugged me, you know? I’m so mad!”
With his close ones around, Shen Sichen spoke without any restraint, lying on the sofa, he thought about that day and regretted not kicking him a few more times.
“You’re always talking about death, what are you like.” Shen Yanheng reprimanded.
