Chapter 184. Demons and Monsters (8) Exhilarating Victory

     As soon as she reached the cave entrance, a dozen brown roots the size of fingers or arms that were ambushed nearby attacked the target at the same time. Ye Mo swung her sword to sever the roots and soared into the air.

     One after another, the tendrils hidden underground emerged, totaling more than eight hundred. A banyan tree hidden behind a several-thousand-year-old white poplar tree to the west also revealed itself and moved towards the battle.

     The Raven demon regarded Ye Mo with astonishment.They had originally thought Ye Mo’s talents were similar to a mole’s – speed, burrowing, plus an explosion. But her strength was also far greater than non-strength-based races, and her physical defense was not weak either.

     The never-before-seen, strangely shaped long object, coupled with her lightning-fast movements, made it impossible for the Raven demon and the Banyan Tree Spirit to deal with her for the moment.

     The feeling was mutual.

     The Raven demon doubted it ears. Is there really such a strong human-rat half-demon now? They had fundamentally guessed Ye Mo’s attributes wrong.

     “A wingless bird, buried deep underground—do you really think he could dig his way out with just his talons or beak, right in front of another monster?” Ye Mo smirked. “You’re a 50-year-old rock monster, yet your attack and defense are no different from a newborn. Even a non-sentient tiger, leopard, or bear could crush you without breaking a sweat.”

     The small stone monster replied softly, “I-I-I can play dead and not go out. As long as I’m not discovered, the spirit stones here are enough for me and the tiny stone monster to live for hundreds or thousands of years.”

     “What do the spirit stones here have to do with you?” Ye Mo retorted. “What’s the difference between you being enlightened or not in such a life of hiding?”

     The small stone monster couldn’t argue.

     If it hadn’t been for Ye Mo, it wouldn’t have discovered the spirit stone mine beneath its dwelling at all. No, it would have died in the battle between the foxes and humans, very likely silently, without the foxes or humans even glancing at it.

     This was the life of many half-demons. The deer-human demon in front of it, capable of hunting spirits, was the special one.

     The stone monster tried to convince itself, but it couldn’t.
