The Goal Is to Become the Strongest Card Master
The Goal Is to Become the Strongest Card Master | Chapter 3: Crafting Cards

Although it was called an examination hall, it was actually a very spacious room.

The candidates were taken to different exam areas and found their seats according to the names and serial numbers on the desks.

Next to Su Liqian was a boy about the same height as him. The boy had been sitting quietly in his seat since entering without saying a word.

“Everyone, quiet down.”

The teacher at the front of the room placed both hands behind his back. “Find your seat, and swipe your registration card on the top-right corner of your desk to receive a transparent card.”

Cheng Yu paused and scanned the students seated below. “The exam content is to create an illusion world card within one hour.”

As soon as these words were spoken, the students, who had been quiet until now, immediately became restless. But Cheng Yu didn’t care about that. He sternly silenced the noise and adjusted his glasses.

“Our school, Lanxi, is not a place that just anyone can enter. You should have been mentally prepared before taking this exam.”

“Also, no form of cheating is allowed during the exam. Don’t think you can escape the electronic monitoring glasses.”

Before the students could fully process the exam instructions, Cheng Yu raised his hand and checked the time. “Alright, the exam starts now.”

With the examiner’s command, even though there were still many questions in their minds, the students had no choice but to quickly start crafting their cards. After all, there was only one hour, and every second wasted added more risk.

The method for crafting the card was thoughtfully written on the desk. Su Liqian swiped her registration card on the top-right corner of the desk, and sure enough, a transparent card appeared in the center of the desk.

Thankfully, she had glanced through some information about card crafting last night, so she wasn’t completely lost.

To put it simply, it involved constructing an illusion world in her mind and projecting it onto the transparent card using spiritual strength. The more complete the illusion world was, the higher the success rate.

For students who had just graduated from middle school, this task not only required a certain amount of spiritual strength and the ability to build an illusion world, but also a complete understanding of the world they were creating. It was definitely challenging.

But for Su Liqian, who had been a game designer in her past life, imagination was not a problem. She had countless fantasy worlds in her mind.

However, in this star system, card crafters had to first understand and study the Illusion world they wanted to create. In other words, most card crafters could only craft cards based on existing Illusion worlds.

This was not very friendly to Su Liqian, as she wasn’t familiar with this world’s Illusion worlds. Even after trying hard to recall, she could only remember fragmented pieces.

It seemed that creating an Illusion world card based on this world was not very realistic at the moment.

Su Liqian took a deep breath.

It seemed that the only option now was to take a risk.

Su Liqian followed the example of the person next to her and slowly closed her eyes. In her mind, she began to conjure up the world from the first game she had ever worked on—The Great Magician

This was the starting point of her dreams and the world she knew best. Using it as her first attempt at card crafting made sense, as its worldview was relatively simple, which would increase the chances of success.

She vividly recalled the scenes from years ago when she sat at her computer, deeply immersed in her beloved visuals. Every story and character felt like a part of her own.

Su Liqian focused on recalling every detail of The Great Magician, and she didn’t know how long it took, but gradually, a Western fantasy world began to take shape in her mind.

When she opened her eyes again, a faint blue light seemed to flash in her gaze. Su Liqian used her spiritual strength to lift the card into the air, and the spiritual strength slowly enveloped the transparent card.

When she truly began to try crafting the card, she realized it wasn’t as easy as she had imagined.

She had to continuously channel her spiritual strength into the card, while maintaining the Illusion world in her mind.

But thankfully, all her efforts were not in vain.

The originally transparent card began to show color from the top.

Su Liqian dared not wipe the sweat from her forehead, so she just kept channeling her spiritual strength.

With the first step successful, the rest was much smoother. The upper half of a magic wand began to appear on the card’s surface, and intricate silver patterns twisted across the black card back. Large golden letters were embossed in a fancy font on it.

“Whoo… whoo…”

Finally, after draining the last bit of her spiritual strength, the card emitted a faint purple glow and landed in Su Liqian’s hands.

Did… did she succeed?

Su Liqian saw the “B” on the bottom-right corner of the card and the words “The Great Magician” on the back. She couldn’t help but curiously flip the card over in her hands.

Suddenly, a dark figure blocked the light in front of her. Su Liqian looked up and met Cheng Yu’s slightly surprised gaze.

“Finished?”

Su Liqian glanced at the card in her hand.

“Should… be, I suppose.”

Hearing this, Cheng Yu suppressed his surprise and took the card. However, upon seeing the “B” on it, he couldn’t help but give Su Liqian another good look.

“The Great Magician…”

Cheng Yu opened the back of the card and furrowed his brows.

“Alright, you can leave now.”

“Oh, okay.”

Su Liqian nodded and walked out of the exam hall under the gaze of many people, some shocked, some confused.

At this moment, Cheng Yu couldn’t stay still anymore. As soon as the exam ended, he quickly left the hall.

“Director!”

“Director!”

Two voices echoed in perfect unison. Xi Wen looked at the two individuals walking toward him, both with rosy faces, and couldn’t help but feel a surge of joy inside.

“Any promising talents this year?”

Lian Yi nodded and spoke first, “It’s Ye Zilan. He created a B-level illusion card from ‘Wings of Divine Light’!”

“Wings of Divine Light? Hmm, Zilan is indeed excellent. This year, we have hope in Lanxi.”

Xi Wen nodded in satisfaction, almost forgetting about Cheng Yu, who was standing beside him.

“Oh, right, what was it you wanted to discuss?”

Cheng Yu opened his mouth and said, “There’s a little girl in my exam hall who also created a B-level card.”

“But…”

“But what?”

“But the name of the card, I’ve never heard of it. It’s called ‘The Great Magician.'”

“The Great Magician?”

Xi Wen mumbled the name a few times, but still had no idea.

“Maybe it’s from some lesser-known illusion world? Or perhaps it’s some special opportunity or something?”

Lian Yi naturally hadn’t heard of this illusion world either, so he offered his guess.

After all, it couldn’t be something completely new! The youngest Dream Caster in the galaxy only awakened their talent in their twenties!

“Yeah, that’s true… Alright, hahaha, our school has struck gold with two promising talents this time! Let’s go, I’ll treat you to a meal!”

…

Back at home, Su Liqian was unaware that she had already been listed as one of the school’s key focus students. When she saw the large table full of dishes made by Bai Yao, although unfamiliar, they looked delicious, and she quickly put all other matters out of her mind.

Bai Yao and Su Mingyang, sitting at the table, tacitly avoided mentioning the exam results.

“By the way, tomorrow your father and I have a day off, so we’ll take you to the star district center to buy a Star Moon Stone.”

“Oh… okay.”

Su Liqian nodded, confused, and after returning to her room, she searched for information about the “Star Moon Stone” online.

It turned out that card crafters in the galaxy could start participating in interstellar competitions after the age of 16. The Star Moon Stone was a tool developed by the Federation long ago to store and unlock cards.

Many card crafters would use their spiritual strength to place seals on the cards they obtained, both to prevent others from stealing them and to prevent powerful card energies from leaking and causing damage.

The Star Moon Stone can not only store a large number of cards but also unlock them quickly after being infused with spiritual strength, eliminating the need for further sealing. It’s a must-have for every card crafter.

Su Liqian had just graduated from middle school and was about to enter high school, so it was naturally time for her to buy her own Star Moon Stone.

Once the entrance exam was over, most of the burden had been lifted from her shoulders, and Su Liqian finally got a good night’s sleep.

The next morning, the three of them drove to the commercial street in the star district center.

The bustling nature of the commercial street was beyond anything she had seen in her previous life, especially with the advertisements and decorations floating in the air and the high-tech buildings. It made Su Liqian feel like a child who had never seen the world before, as she kept looking around the whole way.

“Things like the Star Moon Stone are important, so we can’t be stingy.”

Holding this belief, Bai Yao led them into the most luxurious store on that floor.

The dazzling array of products was overwhelming. As soon as they entered, a small robot with long ears flew over to them.

“Hello, may I assist you with something?”

The receptionist’s voice wasn’t as mechanical as imagined; instead, it was quite comfortable to listen to.

“We would like to see the Star Moon Stones.”

“Alright, please follow me.”

The small robot flew ahead to lead the way. Soon, they arrived at a display filled with various kinds of jewelry.

The stones, sparkling like crystals, shone even through the glass.

“This is our store’s Star Moon Stone exhibition area, where you’ll find a wide range of types and specifications. May I ask which one you’re interested in purchasing?”

Su Liqian’s gaze fell on the display case. The Star Moon Stones, from top to bottom, were either set in belts, made into bracelets, or strung onto necklaces.

“Do you have any recommendations?”

“Seventy-eight percent of our customers ultimately choose the Star Moon Belt or the Star Moon Bracelet! These two types have larger stock quantities and are also quite visually appealing!”

The small robot’s face displayed a rich variety of expressions, and with its cheerful tone, it appeared lively and cute.

Su Liqian leaned in closer to examine the Star Moon Stones in the display case. She checked the prices and ultimately chose a moderately priced Star Moon Belt.

After leaving the store, Su Liqian couldn’t wait to activate the Star Moon Stone by infusing it with her spiritual strength.

The stone, roughly the size of a fist and sparkling with tiny glimmers like the ocean, instantly floated into the air. It slowly descended and wrapped around her waist. The light blue belt spread out from both sides before disappearing.

With a wave of her hand at her waist, the belt reappeared.

How amazing!

Bai Yao and Su Mingyang watched their daughter play happily from the side, unknowingly smiling as well.

How wonderful.

Since that accident, they’d been worried their daughter would never recover, but to their surprise, not only had she recovered, but she had also become much brighter and more cheerful than before.

“Come on, let’s go browse over there.”

Su Liqian caught a glimpse of a store nearby with a crowd gathered around, filled with all kinds of “balls.” Driven by curiosity, she walked in.

“Mecha Storm Simulation Ball, 30% off today!”

Perhaps due to the discount, there was a large crowd gathered in front of the display case.

Some of the original memories told her that these balls, about the size of two fists, with swirling light and shadows inside, were the Illusion World Simulation Balls.

The Simulation Balls were miniature versions of the Illusion Worlds crafted by Dream Casters. Using advanced technology, they simulated the Illusion World and sealed them inside these balls.

When users touch the ball and inject their spiritual strength, they can experience the simulated Illusion World as if they were physically there, existing as a spiritual entity.

This was an important tool for card crafters to learn about illusion worlds and create illusion world cards.

“Only ten Mecha Storm Simulation Balls left!”
