Chapter 5: Wearing My Husband’s Clothes
Lu Tingshen smiled wordlessly.
“Who was that person who just tried to take advantage of you? From his tone, it seemed like he knew you.”
Lu Tingshen’s cold eyes narrowed slightly, his voice carrying a hint of danger.
At the mention of that person, Ji Jinbai’s eyes showed a trace of annoyance and rejection.
With one arm wrapped around the man’s neck and the other clutching his shirt collar, Ji Jinbai leaned against Lu Tingshen’s chest.
With reddened eyes, he recounted every word of how Zhou Yang had harassed him.
With each word spoken by the person in his arms, Lu Tingshen’s gaze grew colder. He couldn’t bear to imagine how Ji Jinbai had endured those days.
“Don’t worry, you won’t see him again.”
The man held the thin, aggrieved figure in his arms with heartache.
“Hmm?”
Ji Jinbai looked at him with confusion, not understanding his meaning.
“By the way, Mr. Lu, why were you here?”
Thinking about it, Lu Tingshen felt that his earlier actions had been absolutely correct.
“I was driving past the intersection when I happened to see you walking into the alley, followed by a suspicious-looking guy. I felt something was off.
I was worried that person might harm you, so I followed both of you. As expected…”
He felt that kicking that person twice had been too lenient.
“I’ll take you back to school later. It’s not safe for you to be alone.”
“No, I don’t want to go back to school, wu…”
Ji Jinbai tightened his grip around the man’s neck, his legs wrapping around his waist, unwilling to let go or return to school so soon.
Having just gone through such an ordeal, the man had saved him and given him a sense of security. At this moment, Ji Jinbai felt deeply dependent on him.
“Then what should we do? Go back to my place?”
Lu Tingshen lifted Ji Jinbai’s chin, looking into his reddened eyes. Though his gaze seemed casual, his tone made it clear he had seriously considered the matter.
“Okay, I’ll go home with you.”
Ji Jinbai looked at Lu Tingshen with a smile, his eyes shining brightly, like stars in the vast night sky.
Hearing the expected answer, Lu Tingshen felt an inexplicable sense of relief.
Holding the young man’s slender waist, he couldn’t help but notice how thin he was. For someone like Lu Tingshen, who exercised daily, the person in his arms felt almost weightless.
Lu Tingshen carried him in a childlike manner, striding steadily toward the car parked nearby.
Opening the back door, he placed Ji Jinbai on the seat. Ji Jinbai scooted over to make room, and Lu Tingshen sat down beside him.
Assistant Lin, sitting in the front, glanced at his boss in surprise, his eyes landing on the beautiful, noble-looking young man who had been carried into the car and now sat beside Lu Tingshen.
The young man’s eyes were red, and he clutched Lu Tingshen’s shirt with his left hand. Could he be in that kind of relationship with the boss?
“This is Lin Cheng, my assistant.”
Lu Tingshen introduced him to Ji Jinbai.
“Hello, Assistant Lin. I’m Ji Jinbai. You can call me Jinbai.”
“Hello, Young Master Ji…”
Lin Cheng turned to look at the beautiful young man, curious about his identity and why he was being held in Lu Tingshen’s arms.
When Assistant Lin turned back, he met his boss’s deep, displeased gaze in the rearview mirror.
Startled, he quickly averted his eyes, not daring to look at the young man again.
“Head back to West Bank Villa. Don’t look at things you shouldn’t!”
“Ahem… Understood.”
West Bank Villa, located in the heart of the city, is a high-end apartment complex known for its beautiful environment and steep prices. Its residents are all wealthy and influential.
As the car slowly started moving, Assistant Lin wisely raised the partition to avoid seeing anything inappropriate. It was indeed a foresighted move.
Ji Jinbai glanced at the man sitting beside him. Lu Tingshen noticed the intense gaze and turned to him, asking gently, “What’s wrong, Jinbai?”
“I want a hug.”
Before the man could respond, Ji Jinbai quickly climbed onto his lap, wrapping his arms around his neck and burying his face into his shoulder.
Seemingly uncomfortable, the person on his lap kept fidgeting.
Lu Tingshen concealed the depth in his eyes. “Sit still, don’t move around.”
Suddenly, Ji Jinbai was lightly tapped by the man, leaving him momentarily stunned.
Ji Jinbai immediately settled down, not daring to move anymore. He buried his head tightly into the man’s neck, mumbling in a sticky yet slightly shy tone, “Mr. Lu, you… you…”
“I’m angry. Let me down.”
Ji Jinbai, flustered, made a show of trying to get down.
Lu Tingshen held his waist, warning, “What are you fussing about?”
Sensing the danger in the man’s tone, Ji Jinbai quieted down in his embrace, his watery eyes glaring at him with a hint of grievance.
Lu Tingshen chuckled softly, looking at the young man who was glaring at him from his chest.
Ji Jinbai looked up in shock, his innocent, watery eyes wide as he stared at the man.
He actually…
Lu Tingshen placed his hand on his waist, applying a bit of pressure, feeling the young man almost jump up before leisurely moving his hands away.
Lu Tingshen felt Ji Jinbai tightly gripping his shirt collar, his eyes glistening with a mix of anger and moisture.
Oh no, did I tease him too much?
Lu Tingshen was about to apologize when he heard Ji Jinbai glaring at him fiercely.
“Do you do this with other guys too? Do you… do you touch them like this?”
As Ji Jinbai spoke, the thought of this man treating others the same way made him feel upset. He leaned against his chest, looking dispirited.
Lu Tingshen, both helpless and amused, lifted his face. “There’s no one else. You’re the first. I shouldn’t have done that without your consent. Forgive me, okay?”
“Really?”
“Of course, I’m not lying to you,” Lu Tingshen reassured him, stroking his hair.
Ji Jinbai let out a soft hum in his embrace, thinking to himself, I’ll reluctantly believe you, old man. Hmph.
…
Lu Tingshen opened the door and stepped into the foyer, taking out a new pair of slippers from the shoe cabinet for Ji Jinbai.
“These are new, never worn.”
After changing his shoes, Ji Jinbai followed him inside.
It was a spacious duplex apartment. The first floor housed the kitchen, a gym, a guest room, and a semi-open bar.
The glass wine cabinet was filled with various bottles of alcohol, indicating that the man enjoyed a drink now and then.
The second floor had only a large master bedroom, a guest room, and a study—Lu Tingshen’s private domain.
The interior decor and furniture were mostly in black, white, and gray, exuding a business-like, cool, and steady vibe.
Ji Jinbai thought it perfectly matched the man’s personality.
Lu Tingshen led Ji Jinbai to the living room and walked over to the bar.
“Would you like plain water or tea?”
“Plain water is fine.”
Ji Jinbai leaned back on the sofa, watching the man pour water.
He felt a bit dazed and couldn’t believe he had actually followed the man home. Jinbai was so happy that he was practically rolling around with joy in his heart.
The man led Ji Jinbai to a guest room on the second floor. Looking at the boy he had brought back, standing obediently by the bed with a soft and sweet expression, his tone carried a hint of gentleness.
“The toiletries are in the drawer on the bathroom wall. If you need anything else, just let me know.”
Ji Jinbai nodded.
Lu Tingshen suddenly realized that since Jinbai had come unexpectedly, there were no clothes here that would fit him.
“There aren’t any clothes here that would fit you. You can wear my clothes for tonight, and I’ll have a set sent over tomorrow. Is that okay?”
“Ah, sure, that’s fine.”
The thought of wearing Lu Tingshen’s clothes, which carried his scent, reminded Ji Jinbai of the faint sandalwood fragrance that lingered on the man.
Ji Jinbai’s ears turned red as he thought of something.
He felt that this trip wasn’t in vain and that he couldn’t let this good opportunity slip away. His little schemes began to stir in his mind.
Lu Tingshen went to his room and brought back a new shirt and a pair of pants for him.
“The underwear is new. I bought it too small before, so it’ll have to do for now.”
Lu Tingshen looked at the person in front of him, who obediently accepted the clothes, and couldn’t help but feel that he resembled a little kitten.
