Chapter 8: Bullied Badly
Ji Jinbai fled from the sports hall back to his dormitory, taking a few deep breaths to calm himself down.
Sitting at his desk, he tried to distract himself by picking up his sketchbook and skillfully drawing lines and outlines.
While drawing, Ji Jinbai was completely focused, his face serious and his mind fully immersed in the task.
Ten minutes later, Ji Jinbai looked at the portrait he had drawn and was momentarily stunned. The person on the paper was someone familiar.
The figure had sharp, sword-like eyebrows, deep and intense black eyes, and a high, straight nose. The person in the drawing was gazing ahead with a nonchalant expression.
This was the scene of their first encounter, where the man had looked at him from a distance.
Looking at the portrait, although it was somewhat rough, the man’s facial features were all accurately captured.
Ji Jinbai didn’t know why, but as he drew, he had unconsciously incorporated Lu Tingshen’s face. Looking into the eyes of the drawing, Ji Jinbai felt his heart racing inexplicably.
He felt he was being too weak, losing his composure over just a man.
The dormitory door opened from the outside, and Ji Jinbai hurriedly closed his sketchbook, turning to see Luo Qin.
“Why are you alone? Where did Lu Mian go off to?” Luo Qin put down his backpack, asking casually.
Seeing that only Ji Jinbai was in the dorm and Lu Mian was nowhere to be found, Luo Qin frowned slightly, wondering if the guy had gone off to fool around again.
“Ah, he… he…”
Ji Jinbai wasn’t sure if he should tell Luo Qin that Lu Mian had gone to watch his idol play volleyball.
“What, you don’t know where he went either?” Luo Qin frowned, sensing hesitation in Ji Jinbai’s words.
“He went to watch a volleyball match and hasn’t come back yet.”
Ji Jinbai sighed, omitting the part about Lu Mian watching his idol play.
“Hmm.” Luo Qin remembered that Lu Mian had never been interested in sports, so why would he go to watch a volleyball match?
He shook his head, thinking maybe it was just a spur-of-the-moment thing.
The dormitory door was forcefully pushed open from the outside, making a loud banging noise.
Lu Mian, seeing only Ji Jinbai, couldn’t help but loudly complain.
“Damn, Xiao Bai, I declare he’s no longer my idol. Not only did he show off his abs, but he also didn’t refuse any girls who wanted to add him on WeChat.”
“I must have been blind before, thinking he was handsome.”
“Xiao Bai, what’s wrong? Did something get in your eye?”
Lu Mian was speaking excitedly when he noticed Ji Jinbai blinking at him. Clueless about the hint, he thought something had gotten into Ji Jinbai’s eye.
Ji Jinbai facepalmed. From the moment Lu Mian started speaking, he had been trying to signal him to shut up, but it was too late.
He clearly saw Luo Qin behind the door, his face darkening with every word Lu Mian said. It was over.
Luo Qin’s eyes were cold and gloomy as he stepped out from behind the door and walked up to Lu Mian.
“Why were you hiding behind the door without making a sound? Don’t you know it’s scary when you suddenly appear like that?” Lu Mian complained.
Luo Qin stepped forward, grabbing Lu Mian’s chin and forcing his head up.
“Since when did you have an idol? How come I didn’t know?”
“Who do you say you like?”
Luo Qin spoke coldly, his tone filled with severity and pressure.
Lu Mian, feeling the pain from Luo Qin’s grip, tried to pry his hand away but failed.
“Luo Qin, you’re hurting me, let go.”
“Answer my question first!”
Lu Mian’s eyes were red with pain, tears silently slipping from the corners. Luo Qin, seeing him like this, belatedly realized that he had lost his temper and had been too rough with him.
He let go and tried to touch the reddened area, but before he could, Lu Mian slapped his hand away fiercely.
“What does it matter to you if I have a crush? It’s none of your business. I can have as many as I want. Even my parents don’t interfere this much. Who do you think you are to control me?”
“I can’t control you?”
Hearing his cold questioning tone, Lu Mian felt both wronged and angry, pushing him away forcefully.
Luo Qin couldn’t help but laugh in exasperation. He forgot who usually washed his clothes and socks, taking care of everything personally.
He had almost treated him like a god, and now he was saying such things. He really needed to be taught a lesson!
Seeing Lu Mian in such a rage, Luo Qin decided to go all the way and hoisted him onto his shoulder, saying to the stunned Ji Jinbai beside him.
“I’m taking him out to handle something.”
With that, he carried the person on his shoulder out of the dorm. Lu Mian, feeling uncomfortable being carried, kept squirming.
“If you have the guts, put me down. What are you doing? Let me go, ah…”
He was so unruly that he almost fell off. Luo Qin gave him a smack, and the person on his shoulder instantly froze.
Two seconds later.
“Luo Qin, you old dog! How dare you hit me! You’re done for, done for!”
“Put me down!”
“Wuwuwu…”
Lu Mian felt his dignity was at stake. How dare he! He felt like he had lost all face. He was determined to beat this guy to death.
…
Ji Jinbai, watching the two of them, thought that Luo Qin, after all, wouldn’t hit Lu Mian. He was a man of discretion. He decided to let them be and not get involved.
Two hours later, Luo Qin and Lu Mian returned one after the other. Luo Qin’s face showed no particular expression.
But his eyes kept following Lu Mian, with a faint smile in them, looking quite pleased.
In contrast, Lu Mian’s face was slightly red, his eyes moist, and his lips a bit red. As soon as he returned, he didn’t know where to look, angrily washed his face, and then climbed into bed.
He no longer had the defiant attitude he had when he left. Now he was like a tamed little fire dragon.
Ji Jinbai felt somewhat complicated, silently mouthing to Luo Qin, “Did you bully him?”
Luo Qin was momentarily stunned, then gently nodded.
Seeing Lu Mian’s state, Ji Jinbai guessed he hadn’t fared well and had probably been “bullied” quite a bit.
