A massive story was starting to form in Su Liqian’s mind as she slowly focused and poured her spiritual strength into it.
That powerful-looking sword was slanted across the back of the card, and three bold words—Oracle’s Legacy—appeared clearly on its surface.
The whole card gave off a faint green glow.
It was a function card.
When the glow faded, the card slowly floated down from mid-air and landed steadily in Su Liqian’s hand.
On the front of the card, a tiny figure wielded a sword, each move sharp and fierce. Wherever it passed, grass was crushed and flowers were broken.
After finishing the moves, the tiny figure stopped, cupped its fists toward Su Liqian in greeting, and then returned to its original stance and froze.
At the bottom of the image, four characters were written: Swift Clouds Swordplay.
Su Liqian was a bit surprised.
Wasn’t that the name of a sword technique passed down by a sect in Oracle’s Legacy? So it could actually be made into a card?
Did that mean using it would allow someone to directly learn the sword technique?
As far as she knew, there had never been a card like this in interstellar history, so all she could do was guess.
But that also meant this card might have some unexpected effects.
And it paired perfectly with her other card—Frost Piercer Sword.
The Swift Clouds Swordplay technique would absolutely boost the power of the Frost Piercer Sword to the next level.
Now the question was—would these two cards have some kind of synergy bonus like Ding Tong’s cards did?
Su Liqian ran through a bunch of possibilities in her head while gently rubbing the card, itching to try it out.
But one look at the pitch-black sky outside told her now wasn’t the time.
The contestant exchange meeting was right around the corner, and she needed to get ready to head to the central area of the Star Realm.
When she arrived at the place she and Ji Yanxi had agreed on, it only took a few minutes before she spotted him rushing over.
“Sorry, sorry! It’s all Shi Yue’s fault—he kept nagging and wouldn’t let me leave!”
Ji Yanxi apologized while catching his breath, holding onto the railing nearby. It was obvious he’d hurried over.
“It’s fine. You’re not even late—we’ve got plenty of time.”
Su Liqian smiled, not minding at all.
“Hahahahaha, I knew my junior was understanding! Let’s go, let’s go! I’ve finally escaped Shi Yue’s nagging—peace and quiet at last!”
Ji Yanxi took a big stride forward, his laugh loud enough to echo from a distance.
Honestly, no wonder Shi Yue was so worried about him. With how carefree and impulsive Ji Yanxi was, he really might charge into something reckless without thinking.
Su Liqian made a mental note to keep an eye on him later, but on the outside, she calmly followed him onto the ship.
The Zhouyi Star Realm’s central area wasn’t far. They left in the morning, and less than an hour later, they arrived.
The organizers had arranged food and lodging for every player—at a fancy hotel right next to the Zhouyi Tower.
With these carefully selected elite participants, the organizers didn’t dare be stingy—the treatment was top-notch.
Su Liqian’s room was on the 12th floor, and the moment she opened the door, she was stunned. The place was almost bigger than her entire home.
She gulped.
Living room, bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, study, prep room, balcony—it had everything. Just walking through it all took a while.
Once she unpacked, she asked Ji Yanxi about his plans for the day. When she heard he was heading out, she immediately said she’d join.
Ji Yanxi: Sure, I’ll show you around the central area.
Ji Yanxi: But why do I feel like you’re acting a little weird today?
Su Liqian felt a bit guilty but kept her cool.
Su Liqian: Not at all! It’s my first time here too, so I thought I’d take a look around.
A flicker of doubt crossed Ji Yanxi’s mind but vanished quickly.
Ji Yanxi: Hahaha, don’t worry! I’ve been to the central area tons of times. I’ll give you the full tour!
Su Liqian sighed inwardly.
With talent and strength like his, why was he lacking in the brain department?
She freshened up quickly and headed down to the hotel lobby to meet Ji Yanxi.
He was wearing a casual blue outfit, and his tall figure and handsome features drew plenty of attention—he had that aloof young master vibe.
At least until he opened his mouth.
Sure enough, the second he spotted Su Liqian, he waved enthusiastically.
That big goofy grin of his totally shattered the aloof vibe. Now he just looked like an overexcited teenager.
“Let’s go! I’ll take you to all the good spots.”
He took his self-appointed tour guide role seriously, practically dragging her around the whole central area.
“That place over there? Their set meals are amazing! And over there? That shop’s energy drinks taste really different…”
“This shop has the most variety—you can find anything there. That one has the best value for the price. And that corner over there? Super distinctive—if you come to the central area, it’s a must-see…”
Su Liqian followed him around for most of the area until they finally stopped in front of a store called Jiuyao.
“We’re here—this is the main event of the day! You have to visit this place when you’re in the central area!”
“This is a must-visit too?”
“Of course! Even though Jiuyao is a chain store across the entire interstellar, each location offers different things. For example, the Jiuyao in the central area not only has the most complete collection in the entire Zhouyi Star Realm, but it also sells items you can’t find anywhere else.”
As he explained, he led her inside.
This Jiuyao store was indeed different from the one Su Liqian had visited in the Sixth Star District. Not only was it bigger, but the interior was also much more high-end.
No wonder—it was the central area, after all.
“Over there is the simulation sphere and card section. Some rare Illusion World simulation spheres and cards can only be found here, so don’t miss your chance!”
Ji Yanxi’s pitch was so convincing, he could’ve made a killing in sales.
But in fairness, his introductions did open Su Liqian’s eyes to a lot of new things.
“Well, if it isn’t Young Master Ji?”
They were just chatting when a slightly sharp male voice suddenly cut in. Su Liqian looked up and saw a guy and a girl walking toward them.
The guy wasn’t very tall, kind of good-looking, but his eyes were narrow and gave off a shady vibe whenever he smiled.
The girl followed behind him, dressed all in black with her hair in a bun. She looked cold and distant, but when her eyes landed on Ji Yanxi, it seemed like she wanted to say something but kept holding back.
The one who spoke was the guy—Wu Yi.
They walked up to Su Liqian and Ji Yanxi. Wu Yi stuffed both hands into his pockets and gave Ji Yanxi a condescending look, letting out a snort filled with disdain.
“What brings Young Master Ji out for a stroll today? What’s the matter? Did the Star District Semifinals wear you out? Hahahahahaha…”
Even Su Liqian could easily catch the sarcasm in Wu Yi’s words.
She glanced sideways at Ji Yanxi to check his reaction.
He had his lips tightly pressed together, staring straight at Wu Yi with a rare expression of coldness.
“Get lost.”
Su Liqian had never seen Ji Yanxi this angry before.
Although, to be fair, it wasn’t exactly anger—it was disgust.
Ji Yanxi didn’t bother hiding the loathing in his eyes, looking at Wu Yi like he was trash.
“Tch, what’s there to act all high and mighty for? Even if you’re strong, didn’t you still get punished and sent back to the preliminaries?”
“Don’t make me repeat myself.”
The pressure coming off Ji Yanxi was intense. Wu Yi’s arrogant vibe instantly deflated a bit.
He knew that if he really pushed this guy too far, Ji Yanxi was fully capable of doing something extreme.
“Hmph, someone will deal with you sooner or later.”
Leaving that behind, Wu Yi slipped away. The girl with him gave Ji Yanxi a meaningful look before walking off.
Su Liqian stood silently beside Ji Yanxi, waiting patiently for him to cool down.
“Just a couple of O’Neill’s lapdogs,” Ji Yanxi muttered, exhaling deeply and trying to calm himself down.
It was clear—whenever anything about O’Neill came up, Ji Yanxi practically became a different person.
But Su Liqian wasn’t the type to pry into other people’s personal business. She simply nodded in understanding and didn’t bring it up again.
Ji Yanxi quickly pulled himself together, putting his usual smile back on and heading deeper inside.
Although the tension had eased, Su Liqian could still sense that something was off with him.
He wasn’t good at hiding how he felt. Ever since running into those two, he’d been walking around with a heavy look on his face.
“Maybe we should just call it a day and head back to rest?” Su Liqian suggested gently.
Even though she was really curious about the Illusion World simulation spheres she hadn’t seen before, she was more concerned about Ji Yanxi’s current mood.
“What? No way! We’re just getting to the good stuff! Don’t let some clowns ruin our mood! Come on, let me show you something!”
Before she could say anything else, Ji Yanxi dragged her over to one of the display cases. Rows of dazzling simulation spheres and cards immediately caught Su Liqian’s eye.
“These are the most complete set of simulation spheres in the whole Zhouyi Star Realm! You’re about to enter the finals—how can you go in without stocking up on a few rare simulation spheres?”
As he spoke, Ji Yanxi enthusiastically started introducing them to her.
“Here, this one—this Illusion World set is super rare elsewhere, has strong combat capabilities, and is packed with high-level cards! And this one—this Illusion World has a lot of cards with unexpected effects, really useful…”
Su Liqian followed along, listening as he explained each one. They all looked amazing, and she wanted them all—but budget-wise, that just wasn’t happening.
Ji Yanxi seemed to notice her hesitation. His eyes scanned the display case before landing on a luxurious simulation sphere placed right at the top.
“Why not go with that one? Strange Tales of the Divine Realm! It’s a bit pricey, but the deck’s combat power and functionality are top-notch. It’ll definitely come in handy in your upcoming matches!”

Please bear with me if I didn’t update right away 😅. I was either buried in work 💼… or buried in rereading the book 📖. (P.S. Most of the time I’m rereading it 🤭—so you know just how good the story is! 🌟)
