Su Liqian followed the direction of Ji Yanxi’s finger and looked over. The Illusion World simulation sphere titled Strange Tales of the Divine Realm lay quietly at the very top of the display case.
The price listed underneath the simulation sphere was indeed a hefty sum, but fortunately, Su Liqian had earned quite a bit from trading cards online these days, so she could just about afford it.
“Alright.”
Su Liqian nodded.
She really needed to expand her collection of simulation spheres and cards, and since she didn’t know much about the Interstellar Illusion World, following Ji Yanxi’s advice seemed like the right choice.
“Okay, we’ll take the Strange Tales of the Divine Realm simulation sphere.”
Ji Yanxi turned to the receptionist robot beside them.
“Okay, please wait a moment.”
The small robot slowly floated up to the display case, extending its mechanical arm to carefully take the simulation sphere down.
“Is there anything else I can help you with?”
Ji Yanxi turned to Su Liqian.
“How about checking out the cards over there?”
“Not for now.”
Su Liqian glanced over briefly and turned down the suggestion. She didn’t need to look to know that the prices of the finished cards there were astronomical, and she couldn’t afford them anyway, so there was no point in checking.
“Alright, let’s go pay then.”
“Sure, follow me.”
The little robot led the way, and the two followed behind.
“This simulation sphere isn’t cheap, but don’t worry, I have a VIP card. If you’re short on cash, just let me know!” Ji Yanxi said, handing over a shiny golden card. Despite his usually laid-back nature, he had a thoughtful side.
He was worried that Su Liqian might not have enough money, so he offered to cover for her.
Although the VIP card was just a regular membership card, it could save her a lot of money.
Su Liqian naturally declined Ji Yanxi’s offer to cover the cost.
“No need to help me pay, I’ve made a decent amount from selling cards online, and I also have the competition prize money. Buying this simulation sphere is totally fine. But I won’t turn down the VIP card, thanks!”
“Haha, alright, feel free to use the card. If you need anything else, just let me know.”
“Got it.”
After shopping, the two went for a meal and then returned to the hotel. Apart from running into Wu Yi and his other companion, nothing much happened.
Once back, Su Liqian sent a message to Shi Yue to reassure him.
Shi Yue: Got it, thanks for the update.
Shi Yue: By the way, Chen Lin didn’t say anything, did she?
Su Liqian: Chen Lin?
Shi Yue: Yeah, the girl next to Wu Yi.
Su Liqian: Oh. She didn’t say a word the whole time—just kept staring at Senior Ji.
Shi Yue: Sigh… alright, I see.
Shi Yue: Best to keep them from interacting, if possible.
Su Liqian: Was Chen Lin close to Senior Ji before?
Shi Yue: That’s… a long story. Wu Yi and Chen Lin are both students at Xingqi University. Wu Yi used to be Ji Yanxi’s little sidekick. Then some stuff happened, and now he hangs out with O’Neill.
Shi Yue: As for Chen Lin… she used to have a thing for Ji Yanxi.
Su Liqian was stunned by Shi Yue’s messages.
That was a lot of information to take in all at once.
It wasn’t surprising that those two were alumni of the same school, but she hadn’t expected them to have such a “history” with Ji Yanxi.
No wonder that girl’s gaze toward Ji Yanxi had seemed off earlier. Turns out, she had once liked him.
As for what had happened between them to lead to the current situation, Su Liqian wasn’t entirely sure, but it seemed to be tied to the previous incident and that of O’Neill.
Su Liqian: Don’t worry, I got it. I’ll keep an eye out tomorrow during the exchange event.
Shi Yue: Thanks, I appreciate it.
Su Liqian put down the communicator and momentarily set the issue aside. She turned and opened her bag, taking out the Illusion World simulation sphere she had bought today and placing it on the simulator rack in the preparation room.
Under the dim yellow lights of the room, the simulation sphere shimmered with colors, as if it contained a bizarre little world, which made it quite captivating.
Su Liqian slowly poured her spiritual strength into it.
In the quiet little room, a subtle connection formed between her and the simulation sphere.
Strange Tales of the Divine Realm was a story set in a divine realm, based on the cultural stories of an ancient civilization.
Although it was called a “tale,” the content wasn’t heavy. Instead, it had a light, everyday feel to it.
The Illusion World seemed to be about stories from the divine realm, with gods as the main characters. It was called “Strange Tales” because these gods had very unconventional personalities.
For example, there was the timid “Death God” who was afraid of ghosts, the mischievous “Angel,” and the love god who was determined to break up couples, among other gods with striking contrasts.
The protagonist of the story was a human who accidentally entered the divine realm. As a “special point” connecting the human world and the divine realm, this human could travel between the two worlds and see things that ordinary people couldn’t.
Strange Tales of the Divine Realm was a quirky and amusing story told from the perspective of this human’s experiences.
This Illusion World was quite rare in the interstellar. Although the developed cards from this Illusion World were very useful, there weren’t many users.
This was mainly because the story wasn’t very well-known, and the worldview and cultural elements of Strange Tales of the Divine Realm were quite different from those of interstellar civilizations. Most people couldn’t fully grasp its meaning, so they couldn’t bring out the full potential of the cards.
In simple terms, it was likely due to cultural differences.
Strange Tales of the Divine Realm wasn’t an interstellar story; it was a relic of an ancient civilization.
After generations of cultural disconnect, most people preferred stories they were more familiar with. So over time, this Illusion World was left behind in some forgotten corner, waiting for someone to discover it.
Ji Yanxi had also found this simulation sphere by chance.
If it had been anyone else, he definitely wouldn’t have recommended Strange Tales of the Divine Realm.
But it just so happened that the person next to her was Su Liqian.
Ji Yanxi knew that Su Liqian was studying some ancient civilizations and had even used many powerful Illusion World cards from these civilizations before.
For some reason, Ji Yanxi felt like this Illusion World had something in common with Su Liqian’s cards.
In her hands, maybe Strange Tales of the Divine Realm could reach a whole new level.
Ji Yanxi had a bit of hope for it, so he recommended the simulation sphere to her.
And Ji Yanxi was right.
Su Liqian was already quite familiar with the story’s background, so she adjusted quickly.
Scenes from the story flashed before her eyes, reminding her of novels and movies she had seen in her past life.
Familiar characters and familiar plots—some were heartwarming, some joyful, and some even had tear-jerking moments…
About ten minutes passed, and Su Liqian’s spiritual strength gradually receded from the simulation spheres. She could still feel the complex emotions from the story lingering in her mind.
Opening her eyes, Su Liqian took a deep breath and pulled out a transparent card from her Star Moon Stone belt.
Usually, the first cards she crafted after connecting with a new Illusion World weren’t high level, so she would wait until she was more familiar before crafting.
But this time, she decided to try it right away.
After all, the story wasn’t too unfamiliar to her, and even if the card turned out to be a low-level one, she could still sell it on the trading site.
The preparation room was smart enough to detect her crafting and adjusted the lighting accordingly.
Two beams of white light shone on her palm, and the spinning transparent card looked even more mysterious in the dim room.
Su Liqian’s full attention was focused on the light in her palm, and the whole scene almost looked like a witch performing a divination with cards.
After a moment, the transparent card began to change.
Where the light gathered, every transformation of the card was clearly revealed.
Intricate patterns shone in dazzling silver under the light, and the wings on the back of the card—one resembling angel wings and the other the shape of a death scythe—twisted together, giving the card a strange, twisted vibe.
The lights in the preparation room all focused on this card, and on its front was a large “A.”
It was an A-level card!
This was one of the rare times Su Liqian managed to craft an A-level card right after her very first encounter with an Illusion World.
Part of it was due to how well she understood this Illusion World, and part of it was probably because of her personal growth.
Yes, she had unknowingly grown a lot.
Since the initial competition, Su Liqian had gone through several battles, and she had crafted quite a few cards.
From the clueless “transmigrator” who just wanted an easy life, to a card master who truly loved her craft and had begun to form goals and ambition—she had changed.
Not just her mindset—her spiritual strength seemed to be growing too.
In the past, she had an A-rank spiritual strength, but it was fragile and thin.
Now, after all the training, Su Liqian could clearly feel her spiritual strength growing stronger and more refined, and her control over it was getting better.
She was getting stronger.
That was great news.
It meant she was getting closer to that seemingly distant goal.
The card landed in her hand, and her scattered thoughts slowly returned.
It was an A-level function card—Purification.
The card showed an angel with open arms, shining with holy light.
This Purification card could remove negative effects from cards up to A-level, and it would only slightly reduce effects from cards above A-level.
It was a really useful card. It might even help with some mental-type attacks. At least next time she faced something like that, she wouldn’t be totally helpless.
Su Liqian had just hit the jackpot.

Please bear with me if I didn’t update right away 😅. I was either buried in work 💼… or buried in rereading the book 📖. (P.S. Most of the time I’m rereading it 🤭—so you know just how good the story is! 🌟)
