Bian’er breathed a sigh of relief. He was terrified that M would ask him to show him the clothes, and he wouldn’t know where to find underwear for him.
Bian’er stayed at home for four days. Because he was scheduled to work at the coffee shop on the 5th and 6th, he bought a high-speed train ticket back to school for the afternoon of the 4th.
He arrived at the East Railway Station. There were a few minutes left before boarding. Bian’er was about to find an empty seat to sit down when his eyes swept across the waiting area. He suddenly stopped.
Bian’er carried his backpack and sat down next to the empty chair beside the other person. His eyes lowered, landing on the hands resting on the other person’s thighs. He carefully admired them.
Suddenly, it felt like a pair of dark eyes landed on him.
Bian’er looked up. Lian Jichuan, who had been closing his eyes and pretending to be asleep, opened his eyes and stared at him.
Bian’er’s eyelashes fluttered rapidly. He whispered, “Lian Jichuan.”
Lian Jichuan took out his phone and coldly hummed.
Bian’er was a little surprised. “Are you from Jiangcheng too?”
Lian Jichuan put his phone back in his pocket, his expression indifferent. “Yeah.”
Bian’er was delighted. “What a coincidence. I’m from Jiangcheng too. Are you going back to school now?”
Lian Jichuan: “Yeah.”
With that, Lian Jichuan stood up from the plastic chair. His long legs took a stride, and without saying anything to Bian’er, he strode towards the ticket gate.
Bian’er subconsciously straightened up. His butt left the plastic chair halfway, and he hesitantly sat back down. Did Lian Jichuan not want to be with him?
Bian’er hesitated for a moment before getting up to follow him. After a minute or two, he picked up his backpack and walked towards the ticket gate.
Five minutes later, Bian’er walked into the carriage with his backpack. He looked for his seat. When he reached his destination, Bian’er was silent for a moment. He silently took off his backpack and placed it on the luggage rack above his head.
He sat down in his seat. The boy next to him, who had been looking at his phone, looked up. Their eyes met by chance.
Bian’er raised a bright smile. “What a coincidence, Lian Jichuan. Not only are we in the same carriage, but our seats are also next to each other.”
Lian Jichuan said, “Yeah.”
Bian’er: “…”
Bian’er awkwardly withdrew his gaze. After a while, there was a rustling sound next to him. Bian’er looked sideways and saw Lian Jichuan taking out a bottle of mineral water from his shoulder bag. His long, straight right hand gripped the mineral water bottle. His hands were really big. His palm could easily wrap around the bottle and still have some room to spare.
Lian Jichuan finished drinking the water, tightened the cap, and his gaze fell on Bian’er.
Bian’er felt it and quickly withdrew his not-so-bold gaze.
The high-speed train started.
Bian’er took out his phone and sent a message to M: [M, I’m on the train back to school.]
He didn’t receive a reply immediately. Bian’er opened the chat box with Song Yongzhao.
After replying to Song Yongzhao’s message, Bian’er saw the person next to him take out his phone. His fingertips seemed to tap the screen twice.
Bian’er received a message from M.
M: [Yeah]
Little Crab: [I’m going to take a nap. I’ll tell you when I get to school.]
Bian’er saw the screen next to him light up again. The person’s fingertips lightly touched the phone.
Bian’er received another message from M.
M: [Okay]
He put his phone in his pocket. Bian’er leaned back. He casually saw that Lian Jichuan had also turned his phone upside down on his lap.
Bian’er’s eyes flew to his hands again.
A beam of sunlight shone through the glass window, landing on his knuckles, giving them a transparent, cloud-like luster. It perfectly neutralized the cold and aloof aura around him.
Lian Jichuan looked at him.
Bian’er’s head suddenly pressed against the back of the chair. He closed his eyes and pretended to be asleep.
Lian Jichuan stared at the meaningless scenery outside the window. His shoulder suddenly sank. He furrowed his brow slightly, turned his head, and saw that his classmate’s head was unceremoniously resting on his shoulder. His lips were slightly parted, his nostrils flared, and he was fast asleep.
Lian Jichuan frowned. He was about to move when he thought of something. He stared at the other person for three seconds before coldly looking away.
Bian’er felt like he was asleep, but he also felt like he wasn’t sleeping very soundly. He opened his eyes, yawned, and saw a piece of white cloth-covered skin. Bian’er instantly woke up completely.
He hurriedly moved away from Lian Jichuan’s shoulder and nervously touched his lips.
Thankfully, they were dry.
Lian Jichuan must have been disturbed by the movement beside him. He turned his head to look.
Bian’er raised the corners of his lips and said sincerely, “Sorry, Lian, I didn’t mean to sleep on your shoulder.”
Lian Jichuan withdrew his gaze and said in a flat tone, “Yeah.”
The train attendant pushed the snack cart past Bian’er’s carriage. To express his apology, Bian’er sincerely said, “Lian, I’ll treat you to a snack. What do you want to eat?”
Bian’er couldn’t see the content on Lian Jichuan’s screen, but it didn’t stop him from seeing that Lian Jichuan didn’t even look up.
Lian Jichuan said, “I don’t eat snacks.”
Bian’er, who was picking out snacks from the cart, stretched out his hand: “…”
“Do you want any snacks?” The train attendant asked with a smile.
“…No, thank you.” Bian’er retracted his hand dejectedly.
The attendant pushed the cart away. Bian’er took out his phone. It had only been half an hour since the train left. There was still over an hour left in the journey. Bian’er didn’t want to sleep anymore, so he took out his phone and started playing.
An hour and a half later, the high-speed train arrived at the station.
Bian’er took his backpack from the luggage rack. He saw the girl opposite him, who was only 1.6 meters tall, standing on her tiptoes, struggling to reach the luggage rack to get her suitcase. Bian’er stepped forward and said, “Let me help you.” He gently tiptoed and helped the girl get her suitcase.
The girl quickly thanked him.
“You’re welcome.”
Bian’er turned around, picked up his backpack, and noticed that Lian had already strode towards the carriage exit.
Bian’er hesitated. Although Lian was M’s roommate, Bian’er really wanted to build a good relationship with him. However, Lian didn’t seem to want to have anything to do with him. Bian’er didn’t go over to him.
Another half an hour later, Bian’er returned to school.
He first sent a message to M to let him know he had arrived at school. Then he reported to Bian Yulin that he had arrived safely.
In the evening, Bian’er was playing on his phone when he received a message from Song Yongzhao.
Song Yongzhao: [Bian, I ate a huge melon on the school forum today!]
Bian’er immediately perked up. He couldn’t wait to ask, [What melon?]
Bian’er: [Tell me, tell me quickly.]
Song Yongzhao: [This afternoon, a boy who studies ballet confessed to the school hunk. The school hunk heard his confession and threw up.]
Bian’er: [??]
Song Yongzhao: [Is Lian Jichuan homophobic?]
Bian’er: [I don’t know…]
He wasn’t familiar with Lian Jichuan. Thinking back to dinner that night, Lian Jichuan had said he couldn’t accept a male partner, but he didn’t seem to oppose others accepting the same sex. He didn’t seem like he discriminated against homosexuals.
Song Yongzhao: [It’s said that the boy is quite handsome. He’s the little prince of the neighboring dance academy.]
Bian’er: […………]
Song Yongzhao: [He can be disgusted by this. It seems that the school hunk really can’t accept a male-male relationship.]
Bian’er expressed strong agreement.
On the 5th and 6th, he worked part-time. On the last afternoon of National Day, Bian’er and Song Yongzhao went to the gym outside the school to exercise. They thought it would be an ordinary day, but Bian’er witnessed a big drama.
While a coach at the gym was working, a young lady rushed in and slapped him, accusing him of stepping on two boats and flirting with her best friend.
Then, a man who was lifting weights suddenly put down the barbell and asked the coach incredulously, “You have two girlfriends?”
A beautiful boy with exquisite makeup walked into the gym with a smile on his face. Three minutes later, the smile disappeared from his face. He raised his foot and kicked the coach in the private parts.
Although he had eaten some melons on the internet that were unimaginable to normal people, this was the first time he had encountered such a shocking truth in the real world. Bian’er and Song Yongzhao were amazed all the way back to school.
When they arrived at the dorm, Bian’er was still excitedly sharing this shocking gossip with M.
But Bian’er sent over ten messages, full of emotion, and M’s replies were sporadic, as if he wasn’t very interested.
Little Crab: [M, are you not interested in hearing this gossip?]
Not everyone can have a strong urge to confide in someone about these things. Maybe some people just think there’s nothing to talk about.
A few minutes later, Bian’er received a message from M.
M: [Other people say they don’t want to listen, you say there’s no way you don’t want to listen.]
M: [I’m talking to my senior now. I can’t reply to messages in time.]
Bian’er stared at the message M sent, and the corners of his lips couldn’t help but rise. The phone screen reflected his overjoyed expression. Bian’er coughed and controlled the curvature of his lips.
Little Crab: [Little cat knows jpg]
They chatted intermittently for over an hour. M suddenly asked, [What size clothes do you wear?]
Little Crab: [?]
M: [What size?]
Little Crab: [Actually, although I’m not fat, I’m still quite tall among girls.]
Because of his good proportions, people would think he was tall just by looking at him. His actual height was 1.78 meters, which was average for a boy, but if you compared it to girls, he was definitely considered tall.
M: [I don’t want to ask again.]
Bian’er took a deep breath and typed quickly.
Little Crab: [At least XL.]
M didn’t reply.
