Chapter 23: Boss Liu’s Order
Boss Liu was a typical gourmand, who loved food the most.
Therefore, he liked to go to the state-owned restaurant for every meal.
He was lucky that his scrap yard was profitable and his family was well-off, otherwise, he wouldn’t be able to spend so much.
Yesterday, Qin Zhiyi left him two buns.
He didn’t eat them in the afternoon.
He was a bit picky about food. Cold buns were dry and tasteless.
But he couldn’t waste food, so in the evening at the state-owned restaurant, he asked his old buddy to help heat them up.
When the buns were brought to him, he only took a bite, and he couldn’t stop.
But when he ate the second one, he realized something was wrong.
He thought it was made by the chef at the restaurant.
Because he had also ordered three meat buns.
He didn’t remember the two buns Qin Zhiyi had given him for a while.
He only remembered when he asked.
Maybe it was because he hadn’t had enough and couldn’t eat them anymore, so he couldn’t forget them.
He thought about asking Qin Zhiyi today if his family could make some for him.
Qin Zhiyi frowned and nodded, “Yes, is there a problem?”
Boss Liu smiled like the Maitreya Buddha.
“That, Da Qin, I don’t know if your family would be willing to take on a small business?”
Qin Zhiyi, “?”
Boss Liu chuckled, “It’s just that your buns are really to my taste, so I want to order a batch from your family. I can provide all the ingredients. The price of the buns will be the same as at the restaurant. I don’t need many, just 50 to start. What do you think?”
Qin Zhiyi was truly surprised.
But soon, he looked enlightened.
He had been dealing with Boss Liu for a while and knew that he loved to eat.
The buns Xu Sangluo made were indeed delicious. At least he had never eaten better buns.
So it was normal for Boss Liu to remember them.
But he still shook his head helplessly.
Boss Liu, who was waiting for his answer, was immediately anxious.
“Don’t rush to refuse. If there are any difficulties, we can talk about it. I’ll see if I can solve them. If it’s because making buns will delay your work, I can also pay you extra. I won’t let your family suffer any losses.”
Qin Zhiyi couldn’t help but laugh, “That’s not the reason. These buns weren’t made by my family. The person who made them is just a tenant in our house. I can’t make decisions for her. How about this, I’ll ask her tonight?”
Boss Liu was relieved to hear this. He quickly nodded, “Okay, okay. You ask her tonight.”
“Okay.”
With this matter off his mind, Boss Liu could finally eat in peace.
He had been waiting for Qin Zhiyi to come back, but he couldn’t wait any longer and decided to eat first. He didn’t expect to meet him on the way.
But Qin Zhiyi stopped him, “Wait, Boss Liu. I want to buy a few scrap items. I don’t know if it’s possible?”
Boss Liu was asking for a favor from him now, so of course it was possible.
Besides, his business was to buy and sell.
“Of course, what do you want to buy? Go ahead and choose. I’ll settle the bill when I come back. I’ll give you a discount.”
When Xu Sangluo returned home, she saw Qin Zhifeng and Qin Xiaoyan squatting outside the yard, playing with ants.
When they saw her come back, their eyes lit up.
“How was it? How was it?” Qin Zhifeng ran over first, his eyes fixed on the bamboo basket, a little nervous.
Xu Sangluo couldn’t help but smile, “It went very smoothly.”
Qin Zhifeng’s eyes lit up, “Did you really sell them? How many did you sell?”
Qin Zhiyu immediately said, “What do you mean how many? You should ask how many are left.”
Seeing her excited and proud expression, Qin Zhifeng’s eyes shone even brighter, blinking at Xu Sangluo.
Xu Sangluo couldn’t help but laugh, “Let’s go inside and talk.”
The two of them finally realized that they were still outside.
They understood the principle of not showing off their wealth.
They immediately shut their mouths and helped push the bicycle into the courtyard.
Qin Mama wasn’t in the courtyard today. She had been in the house doing handicrafts all morning.
She had actually made quite a lot.
It wasn’t early anymore, so they started to prepare dinner.
Xu Sangluo took charge and decided to eat in Qin Mama’s room.
This was the main room, and it was bigger.
There was an eight-legged table and chairs next to the bed.
The four of them sat around the table, eating and talking.
When they heard that they had almost sold out, even Qin Mama was very surprised.
She thought that if they were lucky, they might sell a dozen or so at most.
But they had sold out in just half a day?
They had only been to town, they hadn’t even gone to the county yet.
After getting the answer he wanted, Qin Zhifeng was completely confused.
Hearing Qin Zhiyu excitedly say that her classmates had pre-ordered a lot, he couldn’t help but blurt out,
“No, why do you girls like this stuff? Isn’t it just for tying your hair? Why do you need so many? You change them every day?”
As a straight man, Qin Zhifeng didn’t understand the appeal of these things to girls.
So he was the most nervous today, afraid that they wouldn’t sell a single one.
Now that they had all sold out, he couldn’t understand.
Qin Zhiyu rolled her eyes at him.
“You don’t understand anything.”
She was in a good mood today and didn’t want to argue with him.
From the morning to school, she had been praised, satisfying her proud teenage heart.
Before, she had envied others, but now it was others who envied her.
“By the way, Sister Sangluo, why don’t I bring some to school tomorrow for them to choose?”
But Xu Sangluo shook her head, “Don’t do that at school. I’ll just set up a stall at the school gate at noon tomorrow.”
“Okay.” Qin Zhiyu was a little disappointed.
But then she thought about it and perked up again.
“Then I’ll go to more classes tomorrow and let everyone know.”
Seeing her enthusiastic look, Xu Sangluo couldn’t help but laugh.
“Just focus on your studies.”
After dinner, they closed the courtyard door and all gathered around the eight-legged table.
Then, they all stared at Xu Sangluo with bright eyes, suppressing their excitement.
Xu Sangluo smiled and turned her bag upside down.
Immediately, a pile of banknotes and coins poured out of the bag.
The four of them stared in disbelief.
Little Qin Yan leaned on the edge of the table, his big grape-like eyes wide.
“Wow, so much money!”
Xu Sangluo smiled and divided the pile of money into four parts.
Each person was responsible for counting one part, and then they added them up.
The little guy who didn’t have a task watched the adults count money with envy.
“10 cents, 1 yuan and 10 cents…”
Everyone began to count with all their attention.
When everyone finished counting, their bright eyes blinked, and their faces were full of disbelief.
Xu Sangluo chuckled and said, “Tell me your numbers one by one.”
The three of them looked at each other.
Qin Zhifeng couldn’t hold back any longer. He swallowed hard and stammered,
“I’ll go first. I have… 18 yuan and 80 cents.”
His voice trembled at the end.
Xu Sangluo nodded and recorded the amount in her notebook.
Qin Mama took a deep breath and said, “I have a total of 29 yuan and 60 cents.”
“Whoa!” Qin Zhifeng gasped.
He thought he had the most, but there was someone who had more.
Then he excitedly turned to Qin Zhiyu.
Qin Zhiyu was even more nervous when he looked at her. She swallowed hard, “I have 17 yuan and 50 cents.”
Then they all looked at Xu Sangluo.
