Yue Su took out the fishing rod and examined it. It was prepared by the production team, so naturally, it wouldn’t be lacking.
Yuan Jin smiled and cheered her on, “Yue Su, come on! Catch a fish, and I have a stove here!”
Yue Su made an “OK” gesture, “I’ll do my best.”
Yi Xia curiously asked, “Have you ever fished?”
Yue Su replied, “I fished just this morning.”
Yi Xia, “… Then do you know fishing requires bait?”
Yue Su raised her eyebrows lightly, “Oh? Really? It’s fine, Jiang Taiwei used a bare hook to fish, so participation is key.”
[Can she stop being so silly? Doesn’t she know fishing requires bait?]
[So dumb and selfish. Even if it’s for the sake of the fish, shouldn’t she help build a shelter with everyone first?]
[I knew she would still be as annoying as ever.]
[Pity my little Yao Yao. Poor baby is suffering.]
Yue Su shrugged off the mocking and advice, pulling Yao Yao to get ready to leave.
“Let’s go!”
The staff told her that if they walked south for a while, there was a river that led to the sea.
It was high tide, so there might be migrating salmon inside.
But whether they could catch any fish was up to Yue Su’s luck.
“Mom, this place is great, there are so many fish here!”
“Okay.”
Yue Su had really never fished before, but luckily, the fishing rod came with a manual, so she wouldn’t be clueless about how to cast the hook.
While she fiddled with the rod, Yao Yao obediently sat next to her, messing with some nearby weeds.
“Mom, I didn’t get water and food,” Yao Yao tilted her head, her bright eyes full of guilt, looking at Yue Su with big, watery eyes.
Yao Yao hadn’t realized it at first, but after hearing Jiang Wanti mention it, she understood that water and food were the most important.
Yue Su didn’t mind, “It’s fine, I want to fish. If you had gotten water and food, maybe we wouldn’t have the fishing rod.”
Yao Yao cupped her face with both hands, “What if we don’t catch any fish?”
“Then we’ll have to eat bread, poor baby.”
Yue Su sat cross-legged, placing the rod aside and waiting for a bite.
She looked into the distance. The sun was setting, casting a golden glow over the sea, making the waves shimmer.
The faces of Yue Su and Yao Yao were bathed in golden light, softening their features, making them look unrealistically beautiful.
[This pair really has godly looks!]
[Screenshot saved, every frame could be used as wallpaper.]
[The production team knows how to find good angles, I want to lick the screen.]
[I admit, I’m a face-dog, the moment I saw Yue Su’s face, I couldn’t bring myself to criticize her.]
Time passed as they waited.
Yi Xia occasionally looked up. “Why hasn’t Yue Su come back?”
She had her tent, so she didn’t need to build a shelter, and seemed much more relaxed compared to the others.
Yuan Jin was also a little worried and asked, “Should we go look for her? After all, it’s the wilderness.”
Shen Junzai sneered, “We’ve already advised her, why interfere? She’s probably too embarrassed to come back after not catching any fish.”
Jiang Wanti frowned, a few lines of worry on her face.
“Yue Su is too willful. If she went alone, it would be fine, but she’s bringing Yao Yao along, making a child suffer with her.”
She nearly scolded Yue Su for being selfish.
However, no one contradicted her. From the child’s perspective, Yue Su was indeed being too reckless.
She looked at the silent Fu Xijin. “Ah Jin, I haven’t asked you yet, why did you and Yue Su end up on the same boat when we arrived on the island?”
[What? What??]
[I knew something was off, and now I get it!]
[Yue Su is really annoying.]
Fu Xijin didn’t even move his eyelids, his voice low and calm.
“By chance.”
Jiang Wanti smiled, “It must have been coincidence. I thought Yue Su was well-informed and knew your schedule.”
Nao Nao held her face in her hands. “Auntie Su and Yao Yao only got on our boat because the ship broke down. Auntie Jiang, what were you and Uncle Shen doing on the ship for it to break down?”
Jiang Wanti’s face turned awkward, as those words could be interpreted in various ways.
“We didn’t do anything, I didn’t expect the ship to break.”
Nao Nao asked, “Is it fixed now?”
Jiang Wanti shook her head. “I don’t know.”
Nao Nao pouted, still feeling a little happy.
“Luckily, Aunt Jiang, you made the ship break, or else Yao Yao wouldn’t have come on my boat, and I wouldn’t have seen the pink dolphins!”
Jiang Wanti took a deep breath. “Nao Nao, it wasn’t Aunt Jiang who made the ship break.”
Not just Jiang Wanti, even she found Nao Nao annoying.
Nao Nao waved her hand dismissively. “If it wasn’t you, then it must’ve been Uncle Shen, it doesn’t matter.”
[Hahaha, Nao Nao’s mouth is sharp.]
[How did the ship break down after Jiang Wanti and Shen Junzai sat on it? Could it really be a coincidence?]
[Case solved, Jiang Wanti probably wanted to mock Yue Su, but Nao Nao exposed her.]
Nao Nao didn’t feel like talking to Jiang Wanti anymore. She turned to Fu Xijin. “Uncle, let’s go find Yao Yao!”
Fu Xijin bent down and sat on the ground, ignoring her.
He grew up in the Fu family but wasn’t raised in luxury. His grandfather, Fu Guohua, was a military man who had high expectations for his grandchildren.
At the age of sixteen, Fu Xijin was sent to the military for training.
The leaders of the unit said he was a great prospect, a natural soldier, and hoped to keep him in the army, but Fu Guohua refused.
“Uncle! Did you hear me? Let’s go find Yao Yao!”
Fu Xijin gave her a cold look and flicked her forehead.
“Annoying.”
Nao Nao muttered, “Even if Yao Yao didn’t catch any fish, I still want to give her two bottles of water.”
Fu Xijin looked up at the sky. Maybe he wouldn’t need to.
A short while later, a big and a small figure appeared in their line of sight.
They swayed leisurely, looking quite at ease, forming a sharp contrast to the tension here.
Nao Nao ran out ahead, calling out, “Yao Yao!”
From a distance, Jiang Wanti watched Nao Nao’s figure and said softly to Fu Xijin, “Ah Jin, Nao Nao seems to really like Yao Yao. She doesn’t get along with Xin Xin, and Xin Xin often complains that Nao Nao doesn’t like her.”
Fu Xijin leaned against a tree, his superior profile outlined by the sunset.
He lowered his head slightly, as if casually glancing into the distance.
“Hmm.”
Jiang Wanti heard his response and walked a few steps closer, her heart racing.
“I have bread here, would you and Nao Nao like some?”
Fu Xijin turned his head and looked at Nao Nao.
“No need.”
Rejected, Jiang Wanti didn’t get discouraged. At least she got a response.
“You don’t need to worry about me. I’m fine with the two kids. Nao Nao is still young, she won’t starve.”
Fu Xijin suddenly stood up straight. Jiang Wanti looked at him expectantly, waiting for his response.
He turned and walked toward Yue Su.
Jiang Wanti’s face turned pale. She clenched her fingers tightly, continuously reassuring herself that he was just going for Nao Nao.
Yuan Jin put down what he was holding and headed toward Yue Su as well.
“I wonder if Yue Su caught any fish.”
Shen Junzai clapped his hands and drank two mouthfuls of water.
After eating two pieces of bread, he finally felt a little full.
This kind of show really isn’t for the faint-hearted.
“If she catches a fish, I’ll do a live-streamed handstand hair wash!”
Yi Xia overheard and choked. “President Shen, you’ve got that skill? With your physique, it doesn’t seem like you can do a handstand.”
Shen Junzai snorted. “That’s because I’m confident Yue Su won’t catch any fish.”
[If Yue Su catches a fish, I’ll do a live-streamed poop-eating session!]
[Hold up, I’m screenshotting this.]
[Hahaha, bro, are you preparing for a live-stream? If so, I’ll get you a big chunk.]
[Waiting for a slap in the face.]
[What’s going on? Did Yue Su really catch a fish?]
[If you had seen Yue Su’s live stream, you’d know how amazing she is!]
At first, netizens shared Shen Junzai’s confidence, certain Yue Su wouldn’t catch anything.
No bait, no experience—just a complete newbie.
But Yue Su seemed to have some sort of magical protection, and she actually caught a fish!
The netizens even began to suspect Yue Su was linked to a system that practically delivered the fish to her!
Shen Junzai had no idea about this yet.
Not long after, a voice came from the distance: “Damn, Yue Su, did you catch all of these?”
Yi Xia immediately stood up and peered over.
“Are there really fish?”
Jiang Wanti pursed her lips. “Yuan Jin just likes to exaggerate, they might just be tiny fish that aren’t worth eating.”
Yi Xia gave her a look and said, “Let’s go see for ourselves. If they’re small, we’ll know once we look at them. Xing Jun, let’s go take a look.”
Jiang Wanti hesitated for a moment but followed.
She didn’t believe Yue Su could really catch fish without any bait.
