Chapter 41: He’s Really Dead
Ixia couldn’t hold back and burst into laughter with a “puchi” sound.
“Sorry… sorry, Yue Su, I just couldn’t help it, hahaha.”
She usually didn’t laugh, except when Ixia really found something amusing.
Yue Su stared at her in a daze. “It’s fine. I’ve gotten used to it.”
Even Guan Nan knew about this, and practically every day, someone would mock her.
Yuan Jin couldn’t help but chuckle and asked, “Yue Su, what happened next? How did you reject him?”
Yue Su pulled the corner of her lips. “I told him, not only do I find you poor, but I also find you ugly.”
Zhang Youlun had bothered her a few more times afterward, but after Fu Xijin found out, he gave him a good beating.
Yue Su turned to look at Fu Xijin, and after a brief eye contact, she casually looked away.
But he probably wouldn’t remember any of this.
After the beating, Zhang Youlun never showed up again.
At this moment, Ixia, still watching the live stream, continued chatting.
“Even if he weren’t poor and ugly, Yue Su Senior wouldn’t have agreed to him. As I know, she had a boyfriend back then. Many people have seen her boyfriend. He wasn’t from our school, but I heard he’s a major heartthrob!”
“Not sure if Yue Su Senior ended up marrying him. Anyway, that’s all I know.”
Ixia tilted her head, eyes mischievous.
“Was your husband, the one you married later, that heartthrob?”
“No.”
Ixia blinked in surprise. “Really?”
Yue Su’s expression softened in sadness as she wiped away an invisible tear at the corner of her eye.
“That heartthrob… he’s already dead.”
Ixia was shocked. “He’s really dead?”
Yuan Jin picked up the conversation, “I got this. A proper ex should feel like they are dead. Right, Yue Su?”
Yue Su smiled faintly. “No, Yuan Ge, he’s really dead.”
Yuan Jin paused, a little stunned and speechless.
Fu Xijin: “…”
He sneered, his anger evident.
Yuan Jin, however, turned his attention to him after hearing that laugh.
“President Fu, what are you laughing at?”
Fu Xijin’s eyes were cold, and his handsome face had a sarcastic expression.
“I’m mourning that heartthrob.”
Yue Su: “…”
Anyway, the drama with Rose Rabbit ended here, and finally came to a close.
This incident became quite the spectacle. Not only did Yue Su gain a large following, but the show’s popularity also reached new heights.
As the program’s broadcast time came to an end, there were still so many viewers that it couldn’t finish on time.
Director Liang was almost pulling his hair out—too much traffic was also a problem.
After a short while, Qian Man walked over.
“Everyone, Director Liang says the broadcast will be extended until 7 PM tonight.”
No one had objections. After all, the island was so comfortable that they sometimes forgot they were recording a show.
Yuan Jin squinted and gazed at the setting sun.
He had just eaten rabbit meat and still felt full, so he wasn’t in a rush for dinner.
“I wonder who will win the first prize of the show.”
Ixia thought it would be Yue Su.
“If you win this island, we’ll come here for a vacation, and you can’t refuse.”
Yue Su rested her chin on her knees and closed her eyes, pretending to nap.
“Teacher Ixia, if I win the first prize, the first thing I’ll do is sell this island.”
Vacations on this island were a luxury for rich people. She didn’t have the money for that; selling it for cash would make more sense.
She was always excited when it came to money.
“Mom, is this island valuable?”
Yue Su didn’t really know, so she responded, “Probably.”
But Fu Xijin’s things were always expensive.
Yao Yao, wanting money, eyed the island. She was eager to win the first prize.
“Mom, let’s try our best to win the first prize!”
Just then, Jiang Xin overheard and didn’t hold back.
“Dream on, Uncle Fu would never give you the island!”
She hated Yao Yao!
Yao Yao pouted. “This island isn’t yours. You can’t decide.”
Jiang Xin made a face. “Uncle Fu loves me the most. If I say it won’t be given to you, it won’t be!”
“You’re a poor little thing with no one loving you, so no island for you!”
Ixia instinctively furrowed her brows, about to reprimand.
But when she saw Yue Su, the mother, remain completely calm, she held back her anger and chose not to speak.
Unexpectedly, Yao Yao, who was surprisingly fierce, glanced at Jiang Xin calmly.
“If you’re poor, you can earn money, but if you’re ugly, that’s forever.”
Jiang Xin’s eyes widened, stomping her feet in frustration.
“You’re ugly! You’re the ugliest!”
Yao Yao pursed her lips, sweetly saying, “Only really ugly people would care if someone calls them ugly.”
[Hahaha Yao Yao says the most poisonous words in the cutest voice.]
[How is Yue Su raising her child? Is it okay for her to have such a sharp tongue at such a young age?]
[Well, Jiang Xin started it, why not ask how Jiang Wanting is raising her kid?]
Yue Su didn’t get involved in the children’s bickering unless it came to physical violence.
However, she could hold her own, but Jiang Wanting seemed upset.
Jiang Xin resembled her, and reprimanding Jiang Xin felt like it was a slap to her own face.
“Yao Yao, you can’t say such hurtful things. You’ll hurt others like this.”
Yao Yao cupped her face and looked at her. “But Jiang Xin Sister called me a poor little thing.”
Jiang Xin huffed, “Isn’t it true?”
Yao Yao thought for a moment, and was stunned to realize she really was a little poor thing.
She nodded. “That’s true, you didn’t lie.”
[Ahahaha, this is so cute!]
[Ouch, it’s true, she’s a poor thing.]
[This kid is so honest, didn’t lie.]
Yao Yao corrected her, “But I’m a poor little thing with someone who loves me.”
Jiang Xin pouted. “You don’t have a dad!”
Yao Yao: “…You say that like you have one.”
Jiang Xin: “…I have Uncle Fu!”
Yao Yao: “I have plenty of uncles. I’ll give you two later.”
Jiang Xin: “?”
Jiang Wanting ignored the children’s argument. She had a purpose here today.
Looking at the time, the show was already ending. She didn’t need to hide her intentions anymore.
“Yue Su, I heard you called the police?”
Yue Su hummed, waiting for her to continue.
Jiang Wanting avoided her gaze, feeling as if Yue Su’s sharp eyes could pierce through her hidden motives.
“I heard that Zhang Youlun was taken by the police. Did he say anything?”
Yue Su laughed. Her eyes were cold.
“What do you think he’d say?”
Jiang Wanting turned her eyes away. “I was just asking casually. After all, someone like him might falsely accuse others to get out of trouble.”
“Oh? Who would he falsely accuse?”
Yue Su rested her chin, tilting her head slightly as a few strands of hair fluttered in the wind.
Her eyes were bright, but when she looked at Jiang Wanting, they held a softness that seemed almost mocking.
Jiang Wanting, however, felt as if needles were pricking her all over and wanted to avoid her gaze.
“Since Teacher Jiang is so eager to know, wouldn’t it be quicker to have someone investigate?” She casually glanced at Fu Xijin.
Jiang Wanting pressed her lips together. “I saw on the internet that people are suspecting President Shen.”
Yue Su sneered, “Shouldn’t he be suspected?”
“I’ve worked with President Shen for many years, and I trust his character,” Jiang Wanting said seriously.
Yue Su raised an eyebrow. “Then you must be blind.”
“Yue Su, no matter what Zhang Youlun says, whether you believe it or not, this matter has nothing to do with President Shen. But the things that happened these last couple of days have troubled him greatly. If you make a statement, he would be willing to resolve things with you and forget the past. He would bring you back under Starshine Entertainment.”
Jiang Wanting’s tone was condescending, as if this was a great favor to Yue Su.
It felt like she was saying: “You’re just a nobody, but if Starshine wants to sign you, it’s your lucky day.”
[This sycophant Jiang Wanting, must she do this?]
[She must not want to do this, but Shen Junzai is her boss. What can she do?]
[I can’t see Jiang Wanting not willing, she just about looks down on Yue Su.]
Yue Su smiled faintly. “What attitude do you want me to show?”
Jiang Wanting lifted her chin. “As long as you settle things with Zhang Youlun, withdraw your complaint, and let it go.”
It seemed that Shen Junzai still feared Zhang Youlun would drag him down.
He couldn’t lower his head to Yue Su, so Jiang Wanting stepped in.
