Bai Linglong shielded her hands with her sleeves, and with a thought, two handguns appeared in her grasp.
These two handguns, in this world where martial arts reigned supreme, seemed out of place, yet they exuded a dangerous aura that was impossible to ignore.
“Xiaocui, Heifeng, come here.” Bai Linglong beckoned the two closer, then began patiently explaining the structure, usage, and shooting techniques of the handguns.
Her voice was clear and steady, each word like a precise command, reaching their ears. Xiaocui and Heifeng were initially bewildered, their eyes filled with curiosity and confusion towards this unfamiliar object. But as Bai Linglong explained, they were gradually awestruck by the handgun’s immense power.
“Can this thing really be that powerful?” Heifeng, half-believing, took the handgun, carefully examining it. His eyes betrayed a mix of nervousness and excitement.
He gently pulled the trigger, a light “click” was all he heard. Though no bullet was fired, the mechanical feel in that moment made him truly sense the uniqueness of this handgun.
“Yes, as long as you master its usage, its power will exceed your expectations.” Bai Linglong nodded confidently, a gleam of self-assurance in her eyes.
Under her guidance, Xiaocui and Heifeng began practicing repeatedly. At first, their movements were clumsy, sometimes forgetting to engage the safety, or holding the gun incorrectly.
Night had fallen on Qingyan Mountain. The surroundings were silent, save for the occasional chirping of insects, breaking the stillness of the night.
Bai Linglong stood by the window, gazing at the moon outside, pondering tomorrow’s plan.
Heifeng stood behind her, his posture erect. Though his injuries were not fully healed, his eyes were filled with determination.
“Heifeng, tomorrow we will set out and reclaim what is rightfully yours.”Bai Linglong turned, meeting Heifeng’s gaze. Her eyes were firm and resolute.
“Yes, my lady!” Heifeng responded without hesitation, his voice loud and unwavering, as if he already saw the light of victory.
The next morning, the soft glow of dawn gently kissed Qingyan Mountain, casting a warm golden hue over the sprawling vegetation. Every leaf seemed like a lit green jewel, sparkling brightly.
Birds chirped merrily as they hopped and flitted among the branches, as if celebrating this brand new day.
Bai Linglong, Heifeng, and Xiaocui, facing this vibrant sunrise, strode resolutely towards Mingyue Pavilion.
On the way, Heifeng’s expression was somewhat grave. He was acutely aware of the dangers ahead, but with Bai Linglong by his side, he felt an inexplicable sense of reassurance.
Clearing his throat, he began to detail the situation at Mingyue Pavilion to Bai Linglong. “My lady, Mingyue Pavilion is located deep within the valley, surrounded by mountains, making it extremely perilous. There’s only a narrow, winding path for entry and exit, making it easy to defend but hard to attack.”
As he spoke, he bent down and carefully traced the rough layout of Mingyue Pavilion on the ground with a stick. “Look here, the buildings within the pavilion are densely arranged, scattered yet orderly. The tallest and most magnificent main building is the core area where daily affairs are handled and where the residents live. However, it is currently occupied by that traitor, Heihui.”
Bai Linglong nodded slightly, her gaze focused on Heifeng’s drawing as her mind quickly constructed a three-dimensional image of Mingyue Pavilion.
Heifeng continued, “That traitor Heihui, driven by his own selfish desires, not only colluded with external forces but also brutally harmed many loyal brothers. Ever since he seized the position of pavilion master, Mingyue Pavilion has taken on many assassination missions that go against the ethics of the Jianghu. Its reputation has plummeted, and now, when people mention Mingyue Pavilion in the Jianghu, they all shake their heads and sigh.” Heifeng’s eyes were filled with anger and heartache, his fists clenched tightly, the knuckles turning white from the pressure.
