“Because I’m your fan, I told you.”
Jun Qiu smiled while sizing up the mermaid cub in Sui Han’s arms and lightly furrowed his brow. The boy stretched out a hand, and a Winged dragon flew out of the elevator, landing in his palm.
The winged dragon cast a cold glance at the mermaid cub, who immediately shoved his little head into Sui Han’s clothes, even stuffing his little tail inside.
Sui Han: “…”
Sui Han didn’t believe Jun Qiu’s words.
He had transmigrated here for so long, and in this timeline, it had always been just him and those cubs. Jun Qiu was his fan, so that he could come in? Who are you kidding?
Not even ghosts would believe that.
Sui Han’s gaze grew increasingly indifferent. Jun Qiu seemed to understand him very well, knowing that when he showed this expression, it meant he was very displeased.
So, he immediately changed his tune, saying, “Okay, I know you can see the winged dragon, Sui Han…”
The boy walked closer to Sui Han step by step, his expression full of smiles. He placed a hand on Sui Han’s shoulder, gently patted it, and suddenly acted like an elder, “Because we are the same kind of people.”
Sui Han slammed the door shut with a “thump,” locking Jun Qiu outside.
The boy exhaled. He saw that as he pushed Jun Qiu away with disgust, the other’s lips formed the words, “God.”
Jun Qiu knew he was a God.
So, were they the same kind of people?
Sui Han didn’t want to think about this question anymore. He felt inexplicably agitated, a feeling rarely seen in him, at least since he transmigrated. he had always been very calm.
Jun Qiu made him lose control, and this agitation that Jun Qiu brought him seemed deeply rooted in his heart.
It had just been stirred up.
What exactly was he worried about…
Sui Han suffered a rare sleepless night. The next morning, he put all the cubs into that Pet Compendium [a magical book that stores his mythical creatures], tucked the book away, and walked out of the building.
Before he stepped out of the building, the outside was still a silent stillness, but as the God stepped one foot out, the silence returned to clamor, streets with streams of cars and horses, an endless sea of people, pedestrians hurrying to work, street vendors hawking their wares.
It was as if a still painting had someone press a button, and it suddenly became vivid and alive again.
Sui Han decided he was going to find Xu Songyan.
[Sui Han: Brother Xu, where is your new film crew? I want to visit the set, if it’s convenient for you.]
He would find a hotel near the film studio if it weren’t convenient. He wanted to go to that film set to see what was so strange about that scenery.
Xu Songyan received Sui Han’s message while discussing the script with the director.
“I want to know, what kind of story is this exactly?” Xu Songyan had taken the job unthinkingly. He had joined the crew without understanding the new story.
Not for any other reason but because he wanted to know why the painting, Sea Temple, from his home would appear here.
The director had always respected the old seniors in the industry, especially those at the level of a major movie star.
He couldn’t have asked for more when the other party was willing to grace them with his presence, so he answered the question very enthusiastically, “Let me tell you the specific situation first. This script was given to me by a mysterious young man. He wrote it and wanted to turn it into a TV series.”
Xu Songyan raised an eyebrow, “Oh? Which mysterious young man?”
Director: “His name is… seems to be Jun Qiu. This is the first time I’ve heard this name. It might be his pen name. And the funding he gave is a lot! I’m very confident in this drama because we can burn money as we please!”
Xu Songyan: “…”
Jun Qiu?
He seemed to be Sui Han’s friend, right?
Xu Songyan knew Sui Han was coming, so he naturally welcomed him with joy, not only booking a room for him next to his own but also taking him around the set for a few laps.
However, after Xu Songyan took Sui Han around for a morning, he finally found a place to sit down and said, “Little brother, this place is not bad, right?”
“It’s good.”
This film studio was located in Buzhou City, adjacent to Shanhai City. The sky in Buzhou City was always a grayish-blue; even when the weather was sunny, it didn’t look as transparent and pure as Shanhai City.
“Ahem… Why didn’t you bring Huan Huan today?”
Even though he had no special connection with Huan Huan, he wanted to see that lively little nine-tailed fox.
“He’ll come.”
Sui Han said ambiguously, and Xu Songyan didn’t press him too much.
Xu Songyan and Sui Han sat down to chat, and the crew members walked back and forth beside them, not for any other reason, but a mature movie star and a youthful, innocent boy sitting together were just too pleasing to the eye.
They couldn’t help but guess that Sui Han might be a distant relative of Xu Songyan, and Xu Songyan might want to bring him into the crew, so he brought him over.
Xu Songyan’s registration to the crew was also as a family member; otherwise, it would have been just a regular set visit, and Sui Han would not have been able to stay for too long.
A popular young actress glanced at Sui Han and immediately ran to get close, “Hehe, streamer Sui Han!”
Sui Han looked up at her in surprise.
The young actress delightedly said, “Wow, it is you! So you’re Brother Xu’s younger brother. It’s so great to meet you here. Are you going to join the crew later, hehe?”
Xu Songyan smiled gently and immediately explained, “My brother is just here to play, he’s not joining the crew. Zhang Ya, are you so free today that you don’t need to memorize the script?”
Zhang Ya stuck out her tongue, “I don’t want to memorize the script now, I just want to slack off.”
Xu Songyan covered his face, “If the director hears that, you’re done for.”
Zhang Ya shushed and turned her head to Sui Han again, “Streamer Sui Han, our Buzhou Film Studio is exciting, there are many buildings you’ve never seen before, you can take a stroll when you have time.”
After speaking, she took a cup of milk tea and was about to leave. Still, after only a few steps, she turned back and said, “Oh, right, right, this is the center of Buzhou City, it’s very windy at night, streamer Sui Han, remember to keep warm, and bring Huan Huan to visit the set when you have time!”
Besides being a fan of Sui Han, Zhang Ya was also a die-hard fan of Huan Huan. She was also watching the pet competition at the time.
Sui Han nodded and lowered his eyes to sip milk tea.
The boy had been staying here for three days, and besides feeling that this place was a bit gloomy at night, there was nothing else. But early on the fourth day, when he went downstairs for breakfast, he ran into the white-clothed boy in the elevator.
Jun Qiu greeted him with a bright smile, as if meeting him was normal, “Good morning, Sui Han.”
“A persistent ghost.”
Sui Han thought that he would follow, after all, Jun Qiu was the investor in this drama.
Jun Qiu leaned in, smiling but not smiling, “Sui Han, where are your pets? Don’t you think life is a little less interesting coming out on vacation without bringing your pets?”
Sui Han’s eyebrows twitched. He felt that there was something behind the other’s words.
He took out his phone and opened the surveillance camera at home, and just happened to see a group of headless men in black searching for something in his house.
Sui Han’s pupils dilated.
Although he couldn’t be entirely sure, he still turned his head to look at Jun Qiu, “So, this is your reason for searching my house?”
Jun Qiu surprisingly didn’t deny it, “Just curious.”
Sui Han was too lazy to pay attention to him.
The elevator door opened, and the boy strode out.
Xu Songyan was slightly surprised when he saw Jun Qiu behind Sui Han. He didn’t know what the two of them were arguing about, but he vaguely sensed that Jun Qiu seemed to pester Sui Han constantly, but his little brother didn’t seem to like Jun Qiu very much.
Jun Qiu was the investor, so Xu Songyan always had to greet him with a smile. He nodded as a sign of respect and then went to the restaurant with Sui Han.
Sui Han didn’t have a very peaceful meal. He couldn’t help but wonder who Jun Qiu was.
Now he could probably understand that the other party was approaching him, probably wanting to find something, but what he was looking for didn’t seem to be just his pets. Besides the pets…
Could it be that book?!
Sui Han carried that book with him and didn’t just throw it in the hotel. He wasn’t afraid that Jun Qiu would send those things to investigate again.
After Sui Han finished eating, he remembered something. He called the receptionist of the pet competition, wanting to ask about the mermaid cub’s situation.
“What? Not an egg??”
The receptionist was dumbfounded, “Ah… what egg? We customized a mini pet castle house for Huan Huan. What did you say you received?”
The receptionist thought she had misheard and quickly asked to confirm again.
Since Sui Han learned that the behind-the-scenes boss of the competition was Jun Qiu, he had suspected that the egg was a “gift” he had sent him.
When Jun Qiu found him that night, he was shocked by the sight of the mermaid cub. Although he concealed it well, his surprise did not go unnoticed.
Sui Han said a few perfunctory words, “It’s nothing, I might have made a mistake,” and immediately hung up the phone.
During the live broadcast that night, the viewers saw a bunch of cubs appearing on the screen.
The little zombie gave a very gentlemanly salute.
The little Yingyu fully demonstrated its bubble-blowing skills.
Huan Huan was more Buddhist; he moved his tail and closed his eyes to sleep again.
The newly arrived Bifang seemed to like to show off. It stretched out its golden feathers and sang a song.
The mermaid cub puffed out its cheeks. It could also blow bubbles and sing songs, but it didn’t seem to have any advantages, so it curled up its tail and said nothing.
[!!!]
[Sui Sui, how did you get so many cubs!]
[I’m so jealous that my face is distorted.]
[The rich people on the street are scattering money, you are scattering cubs on the street, wait for me to find a basin to catch the cubs 2333]
[When I used to eat Little Raccoon snacks, they would give cards, and collecting cards could be exchanged for prizes. I wonder what you can exchange for collecting cubs?]
The barrage area moved quickly, but only this sentence caught Sui Han’s attention.
Although the fan was joking, Sui Han looked at the cubs in a daze. Perhaps, the origins of these little cubs were a bit different?
Sui Han remembered that the last time he opened the Pet Compendium, it had many blank pages.
When he opened it again, he saw the winged dragon on the last page, just an outline. However, observing the silhouette, he knew it was Jun Qiu’s winged dragon.
Sui Han felt even more strange.
After nightfall, all the lights in the hotel were turned off.
“Creak—”
Jun Qiu’s door made a sound. The boy sat up in a daze. The winged dragon was dozing on the chair next to the door. Hearing the sound, it looked towards the door.
With a “whoosh,” the winged dragon disappeared.
Sui Han put away the Pet Compendium and was about to sneak away when he was stopped by Jun Qiu, who quickly jumped out of bed.
“You dare to steal my pet?”
Jun Qiu’s voice was cold and stern, utterly different from his smiling demeanor during the day. He narrowed his eyes, unable to see the other person’s appearance in the dark. He was about to turn on the light when the other person slapped his hand away.
Jun Qiu roared, “Courting death,” and a pure white umbrella appeared in his hand.
Sui Han looked at him in surprise. This white umbrella seemed very similar to his black umbrella. Sui Han dodged the white umbrella’s attack, but didn’t take out his black umbrella because he didn’t want to reveal his identity yet.
However, although Sui Han didn’t use a weapon, he could still fight Jun Qiu to a draw.
The two of them exchanged moves by the door, their movements were very light, and they didn’t attract the attention of the patrolling security guards.
Sui Han didn’t want to get entangled with him, so he kicked sideways, and when Jun Qiu dodged, he pushed the door and ran out. When Jun Qiu opened the door again, the black shadow had already run far away.
The boy bit his teeth. He didn’t expect that someone could see his winged dragon!
No.
Others couldn’t see it.
There was one person who could indeed see his pet.
Jun Qiu glanced at the elevator with cold eyes, pressed the button to go up, and strode inside.
Sui Han heard the doorbell and pretended to have just woken up to open it, “Don’t you think it’s impolite to knock on the door at this time?”
“I didn’t knock on the door, I rang the bell.” Jun Qiu’s tone was hurried, obviously lacking his usual good temper.
“…What?” Sui Han was a little guilty.
A dignified God did something like stealing cubs; it was disgraceful, but he just wanted to know the truth. The Pet Compendium had a winged dragon pattern, and he tried to figure out the problem with this book.
But if he asked directly, Jun Qiu would not lend it to him.
Jun Qiu narrowed his eyes at him, “Give me back my winged dragon!”
“What winged dragon? Are you sleepwalking?” Sui Han’s expressionless face was quite deceptive.
Jun Qiu was surprised, “It’s not you?”
“What’s me or not me? You’re a lunatic.”
Jun Qiu sneered, turned around, and left.
Sui Han was about to close the door behind him, but he didn’t expect the white-clothed boy to return. He suddenly pushed the door open and barged in.
Sui Han’s room was in full view. The room wasn’t huge. Jun Qiu looked around again, unwilling to give up. However, he didn’t see his winged dragon. Seeing that Sui Han’s quilt was wrapped in a ball on the bed, he suspiciously exited the room and turned around to leave again.
Sui Han’s quilt was pressing down on the Pet Compendium. The boy touched the tip of his nose.
A narrow victory.
The new drama that Jun Qiu invested in finally started filming. Today was the opening ceremony. Sui Han and Jun Qiu sat in a corner, drinking tea and looking at the sky.
“We have a night scene today, everyone, please work hard.”
“Props team, props team, are the things I asked for ready? If you haven’t prepared them, hurry up and find a way!”
Sui Han watched for a while and felt bored, so he returned to his room.
Sui Han didn’t go to the restaurant for dinner tonight, but ordered takeout. After he finished eating, he waited until midnight. The lights in the room were not turned on. The boy was sitting at the table, and the red-covered Pet Compendium was still there.
Sui Han took a deep breath, feeling the secret was within reach.
He gently opened the first page, and two more words appeared on the paper: Incantation.
Sui Han stole the Winged Dragon back, and the Pet Compendium was considered complete. He felt that something would happen, and sure enough, it did.
As soon as the words “Incantation” appeared, they jumped off the paper. A golden light mixed with incomprehensible words slowly entered his body.
Sui Han widened his eyes, wanting to do something.
He heard a loud explosion not far outside the hotel, and flames instantly turned into a giant dragon, circling above the film crew.
Chaotic sounds came frantically from the film crew, and someone shouted, “It’s an explosion, help!!”
