Chapter 2: Scum Dad and Smoke Together
After the mother and daughter left, Jiang Li sat cross-legged and meditated. The original owner’s sickly body was a bit difficult to handle; she needed to improve it. Although she had been struck by lightning and transmigrated into a weakling’s body, it was better than being dead. In this life, she would work hard; Jiang Li felt she still had a chance to ascend to immortality. She took out a Huiyuan Pill from her space. As a top-level figure in the Xuanmen (Taoist school), Jiang Li possessed a spatial storage.
It wasn’t large, about 500 square meters. She usually kept some pills in it, but most of her treasures were stored in the Xuanmen’s treasure vault. Jiang Li checked the contents of her space; there were various pills, but not many of each. She wished she had put more treasures in her space before being struck by lightning and transmigrated; it would have helped her cultivation here. Knowing it was pointless to think about it now, she decided to find more things to aid her cultivation later.
Jiang Li swallowed the Huiyuan Pill. Soon, the original owner’s injuries began to heal. The wound on her forehead healed rapidly, though the bloodstains remained, making it still look frightening. Jiang Li could feel her meridians and muscles rapidly repairing themselves. In less than half an hour, Jiang Li felt a significant change in her weak body; it was filled with energy and strength. Just then, Jiang Wenjun and Jiang Chengye returned from work. Jiang Wenjun was a workshop director at the machinery factory, not a high-ranking official.
As a person from the countryside with no background or ability, if it weren’t for the help of the original owner’s maternal grandfather, he wouldn’t even have gotten a minor leadership position. Jiang Chengye, like Jiang Wenjun, worked at the machinery factory, holding a respectable office position. The original owner’s maternal grandfather was considered to have died in the line of duty, and being an old leader of the factory, the factory, considering the great changes the original owner’s mother’s family had suffered, left a position in the factory office for the original owner. When the original owner came of age, she could work at the factory.
However, this position was forced by her scumbag father to be transferred to her stepbrother, Jiang Chengye. Hearing the sound of the door opening, Jiang Wan and Xia Meifeng, who were busy cooking in the kitchen, saw a glimmer of hope. They had both been beaten by Jiang Li and were waiting for Jiang Wenjun to complain to him. They couldn’t be beaten for nothing; they couldn’t let Jiang Li ride roughshod over them.
As soon as Jiang Wenjun came back, Xia Meifeng started crying to him. Seeing Xia Meifeng’s injuries and Jiang Wan’s swollen face, Jiang Wenjun was terrified. “What happened to you?” Xia Meifeng immediately started crying to Jiang Wenjun. “Wenjun, it’s all that bitch Jiang Li. She attacked me and Wanwan.
Go deal with her; she’s gotten out of hand.” Upon hearing this, Jiang Wenjun immediately went to Jiang Li’s door and knocked loudly. “Jiang Li, get out here!” Jiang Li, who had been meditating, adjusted her breathing, got off the bed, and cracked her neck. Oh, another one looking for death. Jiang Li was itching for a fight, so she didn’t mind taking them all on. Opening the door, she faced the furious Jiang Wenjun.
Jiang Li looked at Jiang Wenjun with disdain and disgust. This look stung Jiang Wenjun. Jiang Li’s gaze was similar to how his former father-in-law and mother-in-law had looked at him. Jiang Wenjun felt he was a country bumpkin, a temporary worker, and was looked down upon by his former father-in-law and mother-in-law. Even after all these years, the self-doubt in Jiang Wenjun’s heart was once again stirred up by Jiang Li’s contemptuous gaze.
Angered by Jiang Li’s look, he yelled at her, “Jiang Li, do you think you’re grown up now, with wings? You dare to hit your mother and sister?” Jiang Li sneered, “My mother? My sister? I don’t recognize them. So what if I hit them? They live in the house my grandfather left me, and they still try to boss me around. I should hit them. If you keep talking, I’ll hit you too.” Jiang Wenjun’s face turned red with anger.
Xia Meifeng quickly fanned the flames, “Wenjun, look, Jiang Li doesn’t respect me as her stepmother, and you’re her father! She even wants to hit you. This girl is truly rebellious.” Jiang Wenjun already had little affection for Jiang Li. After Xia Meifeng’s provocation, he decided to teach his daughter a lesson. Xia Meifeng and Jiang Wan watched with anticipation. They didn’t believe Jiang Li would dare to hit her own father.
If she did, she would be drowned in public scorn. Besides, Jiang Li was just a little girl. She could beat Xia Meifeng and Jiang Wan, but she probably couldn’t beat a tall and strong man like Jiang Wenjun. Unfortunately, Xia Meifeng and Jiang Wan’s expectations were not met. Jiang Li performed an over-the-shoulder throw on Jiang Wenjun. The tall and strong man was instantly thrown to the ground. Jiang Wenjun felt his internal organs shaking with pain. He never expected Jiang Li to have such skills.
When did this girl become so terrifying? Seeing Jiang Wenjun fall to the ground, Xia Meifeng yelled at her son, “Chengye, what are you doing? Help me, control this little bitch Jiang Li!” Jiang Chengye, snapping back to reality, rushed towards Jiang Li. Seeing Jiang Chengye charging at her, Jiang Li sneered, “You’re asking for it.” Jiang Li kicked Jiang Chengye, sending him flying into the wall before sliding down. “Puchi.” Jiang Chengye spat out a mouthful of blood.
Xia Meifeng and Jiang Wan were stunned. Seeing his son beaten, Jiang Wenjun tried to hit Jiang Li again. But before he could touch her, Jiang Li grabbed his wrist. With a “crack,” Jiang Li twisted his wrist, breaking it.
Jiang Li slapped him several times, “Want to hit me? I’ll beat you until you don’t know which way is up.” The most disgusting person in the family was Jiang Wenjun, the scumbag father. It was normal for Xia Meifeng, the stepmother, to be unkind to the original owner, but Jiang Wenjun was her biological father.
Even animals protect their young, but Jiang Wenjun didn’t, making him worse than an animal.
