After a relaxing bath and a hearty meal, Zhou Yi lay down in bed. Although it wasn’t the first time he’d been in this room or slept in this bed, he couldn’t shake the excitement, unable to sleep even though the lights were off and it was clearly time for bed. He tossed and turned in Liang Xianzhang’s arms.
Finally, he was pulled closer, and Liang Xianzhang’s low voice broke the quiet of the dim room. “Why don’t you sleep?”
“I’m so happy, I can’t sleep…” Zhou Yi murmured, a bit embarrassed. “You sleep first. I won’t move around.”
“Since you can’t sleep…” Liang Xianzhang’s voice was tinged with mischief. He moved his hand under the covers and kissed it lightly. “Then how about we do something bad…?”
Zhou Yi immediately felt a sudden tension from Liang Xianzhang’s touch, swallowing hard. Though the room was dark, he could still feel Liang Xianzhang’s burning gaze on him. His heart raced, and he couldn’t bear to look at him, burying his red ears in Liang Xianzhang’s chest. He didn’t say yes, but he didn’t refuse either.
Liang Xianzhang didn’t say anything. He carefully put Zhou Yi’s hands back under the quilt, tucked him in, and prepared to sleep.
“No… not ‘Z’?” Zhou Yi asked softly, gazing at Liang Xianzhang, confused by the change.
Liang Xianzhang didn’t react immediately, his brow furrowing slightly. “What?”
Zhou Yi leaned forward, kissing Liang Xianzhang on the lips, his voice low and teasing. “Just like that… the ‘bad thing’… not ‘Z’ anymore?”
Liang Xianzhang’s body tensed at the sudden warmth of Zhou Yi’s touch, his eyes darkening as his breathing quickened. He could feel the effect Zhou Yi had on him, and it was maddening.
Liang Xianzhang took Zhou Yi’s hand with his own, pressing their foreheads together. “We’ll start right away…”
The two were lost in each other’s world, oblivious to the vibrating phone on the bedside table.
After their intimate moment, the exhausted Omega, Zhou Yi, was peacefully asleep in Liang Xianzhang’s arms. He clung to him tightly, reluctant to separate even for a moment. For Liang Xianzhang, holding Zhou Yi was the only way to fill the emptiness in his heart. Yet, as much as he held him, the satisfaction only deepened the ache.
Liang Xianzhang gently brushed the sweaty hair from Zhou Yi’s forehead and placed a soft kiss on his skin, whispering to himself, “My Omega finally came back to me.”
But just as he was about to get some rest, he noticed Zhou Yi’s phone vibrating on the bedside table. Leaning over, he picked it up and saw the screen light up with messages.
Shang Yichen:
[Have you arrived at the hotel?]
[Why didn’t you reply to my message? Where are you?]
[Damn it, get back to me before I get mad.]
[Zhou Yi, you’re really brave now! Not replying to me? I asked you to find a hotel. Where the hell are you? If you don’t reply, you’ll die outside and never come back!]
The messages went on, growing more frantic and demanding. Liang Xianzhang’s eyes narrowed. He’d had enough of this person. Some people needed to be taught a lesson before they could learn their place.
He opened Zhou Yi’s address book, found Shang Yichen’s number, and wrote it down before returning to the messages and deleting all of them, his expression cold.
Afterward, he placed the phone back on the table, slipped back into bed, and pulled Zhou Yi back into his arms. He closed his eyes contentedly, ready to sleep.
Meanwhile, on the other side, Shang Yichen was tossing and turning in bed, unable to shake the feeling that something was wrong. Since Zhou Yi left, he had been uneasy, and the growing discomfort kept him awake. He reached for his phone, scrolling through the messages he’d sent without receiving any response.
Not a single call. Not a single reply.
Frustrated, Shang Yichen furrowed his brows, wondering if Zhou Yi had just been too busy with finding a hotel to reply. After all, it was understandable, right?
He stared at the phone, willing Zhou Yi to answer. Time passed, but still, no message came through. Impatient, he decided to message Zhou Yi first, telling him to check in and make sure he had found a place to stay.
He thought a reply would come soon, but after waiting in vain, his frustration grew. He sent more messages, but still nothing.
Shang Yichen, already annoyed, threw his phone aside, cursing under his breath. If he doesn’t want to reply, then fine. Who cares? I’m done catering to him.
But even as those thoughts crossed his mind, he couldn’t help himself. After an hour, he picked up his phone again, staring at the empty chat, his frustration growing.
No reply.
Enraged, he punched the pillow and decided to send an ultimatum, feeling his irritation rise. If he doesn’t answer, I’ll make sure he regrets it.
He threw the phone away again, unable to get any peace, lying there in the quiet of the night.
