After some thought, Qin Tianru took out anti-inflammatory medicine and a bottle of mineral water from the medical kit, struggling to feed it to the man.
Her partner had too many wounds on his body, and given their current environment, she was worried that his injuries might become infected and lead to a fever. So, she gave him the medicine in advance as a precaution.
After all, she wasn’t a doctor, and the medical supplies stored in her space were just basic first-aid medications. Besides, they were in the middle of nowhere—she couldn’t even figure out the direction. If anything were to happen, she’d be powerless to help.
So, to avoid complications, he absolutely couldn’t develop an infection or fever.
“You’ve got to pull through~ Just sleep well, and everything will be better when you wake up.”
Holding an umbrella, Qin Tianru sat beside the man, staring blankly at the rainy scene before her—a small attempt to find joy in hardship.
With the rain pouring down and an injured person by her side, there wasn’t much she could do. She had no choice but to stay here, waiting for the rain to stop and for her future partner to wake up.
Before crossing through time and space, she had been enjoying a leisurely afternoon at home, so her outfit was as simple and casual as could be. At home, she always dressed for comfort and ease.
Because of that, she wasn’t wearing any accessories, and even her phone had been left on the coffee table beside her.
So, she had no idea what time it was now and could only estimate based on the sky. However, because of the rain, the entire sky was hazy. The downpour had grown heavier, and dark clouds loomed overhead, making everything dim and gloomy—almost like dusk.
Qin Tianru couldn’t help but feel uneasy.
This place was too desolate—there wasn’t even a shelter from the wind and rain. If they were just stopping here briefly, it wouldn’t be a problem. But if they had to spend the night, things would get complicated.
First, the temperature and weather were unsuitable for staying outdoors, especially with an injured person. His condition wouldn’t allow them to camp in the wilderness like this.
In such an environment, not only would the wounded man struggle to endure, but even a perfectly healthy person would find it unbearable—it was far too easy to catch a chill or fall ill.
Second, safety was a major concern. Nighttime was when many wild animals came out to hunt, and with her slight frame, she had little ability to defend against them.
She didn’t have her eldest sister’s beast-taming ability—the power to summon and command spirit beasts or suppress all animals.
On top of that, she had always been a bit of a slacker by nature, disliking anything that required too much effort. In other words, she was a little lazy—if she could sit, she wouldn’t stand; if she could lie down, she wouldn’t sit.
So, while her eldest sister was busy learning taekwondo, jiu-jitsu, and the like, she had absolutely no interest or patience for it. Wasn’t it much nicer to stay at home, enjoying good food, air conditioning, and TV? Why bother with all that exhausting training?
In short, to use a modern term, she was a certified homebody.
If she had known her life would take such an unexpected turn, she would’ve definitely put in some effort to learn a few self-defense moves.
Being alone in an unfamiliar world, having some ability to protect herself would’ve at least given her a little more security.
But unfortunately, there were no “if onlys” in this world.
As the sky grew darker, Qin Tianru frowned slightly, her worries deepening.
She wasn’t particularly brave—she was afraid of many things, especially in pitch-black wilderness with no shelter around. It was far too unsettling.
She was terrified that something frightening might suddenly appear, leaving her completely defenseless.
