Chapter 27
Tang Huan was awakened by the noisy sounds in the yard after taking a nap.
Her first reaction was that her mother-in-law had a quarrel with Aunt Wu next door?
I listened carefully and found that the sound was not right. There was also the sound of gay men talking!
Aunt Wu called her husband too? Can’t it?
No, I have to go out and check it out!
Getting up from the bed, Tang Huan smoothed his hair with his hand, opened the door and looked towards the yard.
Two men were squatting at the door of the main house, doing something unknown, wearing the same blue work clothes.
Meng Zeyan stood under the eaves watching them busying themselves, Xing Cui also stood aside watching the fun, asking them a few questions from time to time.
Seeing Tang Huan coming out, Xing Cui waved to her excitedly: “Xiao Huan, come over and take a look. Your brother wants to install a phone for the family.”
Install a phone? Tang Huan took two quick steps over to take a look.
The man in charge of installing the telephone was sorting out the telephone line. The phone was installed next to the sofa in the main hall.
The phone had been placed on the table. It was an orange phone that looked just like an ordinary phone, with a rotary dial.
It looks pretty good.
Many families in this area have installed telephones. It’s not that Xing Cui can’t afford one, but it’s mainly because it’s useless, so she’s never thought about installing one.
Unexpectedly, this guy did something big without saying a word, saying that it would be convenient for them to contact him in the future, and they should call him in time if there was anything.
“Xiao Huan, there’s breakfast in the kitchen, go eat it!” Xing Cui was in a very good mood when she got up early in the morning, “Mom is going to go out for a walk.”
Tang Huan was also amused by her mother-in-law’s irrepressible pride. Her mother-in-law didn’t just go out for a walk, she went out to show off.
Before, it was other families that showed off, but this time it is finally Comrade Xing Cui’s turn.
Watching his mother-in-law walk out, Tang Huan walked into the kitchen with a smile. There was a lunch box on the stove in the kitchen. She opened it and saw that there were wontons inside.
Taking a spoon, Tang Huan sat directly beside the stove and ate. The wontons are small and you can eat them one by one. The meat filling is very delicious.
After eating a dozen wontons and taking a few sips of the fresh soup, today’s wonderful start is given by the wontons.
After washing the lunch box, I came out and saw the two installation masters were still fiddling with the telephone lines.
It doesn’t look easy to do.
Tang Huan sat under the grape trellis and watched them busying around. Meng Zeyan was still under the eaves, and it was unknown when he changed from standing to sitting.
Her hair was draped softly behind her, her elbows rested on her legs, her face supported by her fair palms, and she looked lazily at the busy installation master.
They all have stable jobs, right?
She has no business sense, and her future plan is to have a stable job and support herself.
It’s never wrong to buy a house if you have money.
What major should she study in college?
Studying medicine seemed like a good idea. Having been treated by so many doctors, Tang Huan had a special liking for the profession of doctor.
Maybe she could try to save more people.
The installation masters had already gone into the house to work, but Tang Huan was still staring at that place.
Seeing that she was distracted, Meng Zeyan sat under the eaves and watched her for one second, two seconds, three seconds…
Suddenly I woke up as if from a dream, raised my head and closed my eyes, as if the trance just now was just an illusion.
Tang Huan was thinking a bit too far ahead. He came to his senses and realized that the most important thing now was to improve his grades.
I realized that I was wasting my time watching the fun here, and I felt guilty.
Tang Huan hurried back to the room, took out the test paper and started to practice.
Hearing the sound of her footsteps leaving, Meng Zeyan’s closed eyes trembled, and ultimately did not open.
Immersed in the ocean of knowledge, Tang Huan didn’t even notice when her mother-in-law came back or when the installation master left.
Only when her mother-in-law asked her to make dumplings did she climb out of the abyss of knowledge!
Although Meng Zeyan’s trip was not particularly far from home this time, Comrade Xing Cui still followed the tradition of eating dumplings when getting on the bus and noodles when getting off, and decided to eat dumplings at noon.
The filling has been prepared and the dough has been kneaded, so Tang Huan only needs to roll out the dough.
In the room, Meng Zeyan wrote down the phone numbers for contacting him, as well as the phone numbers of some relatives and friends, in a notebook and placed it next to the phone.
After finishing these tasks, I walked to the kitchen door to watch the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law working.
Xing Cui disliked the fact that he was blocking the light by standing at the door, “Don’t just look at me, come over and wrap it up.”
It is true that Meng Zeyan also knows how to make dumplings. He went into the kitchen, washed his hands, and then helped make dumplings.
Tang Huan’s skill in rolling out the dough is quite stable. It is impossible for it to be round, and the dumpling skins have all kinds of strange shapes. It is all thanks to Comrade Xing Cui’s skillful hands that she can save them.
Originally, the number of people making dumplings was just right for one person, but suddenly Meng Zeyan joined in, and Tang Huan’s hands moved faster.
The dumpling skin is not very regular to begin with, and the shape is even weirder.
Meng Zeyan was not as clever as his mother. After the fillings of the dumplings he made three times in a row came out, he finally turned his attention to Tang Huan’s hands rolling the dumpling skins.
The movements were standard, but the results were not ideal.
When I was in the army, the kitchen staff couldn’t make dumplings for the New Year, so they would give dough and fillings to each class and let them make their own dumplings.
Meng Zeyan did have some experience, but he couldn’t tell what Tang Huan did wrong.
Tang Huan raised her head in a moment of leisure, and happened to see her uncle looking at the dough she was rolling with embarrassment…
Meng Zeyan still wanted to know what her problem was, “Tang Huan, how about I try rolling the dough?”
Tang Huan looked at the long, square, and triangular dumpling wrappers he had rolled out, and silently moved two steps to the side to make room for Meng Zeyan.
Meng Zeyan tried it, and in no time a round dumpling skin was produced under his rolling pin.
He raised his eyes to look at Tang Huan, who was watching the movements of his hands.
Meng Zeyan slowed down and did it again.
Tang Huan swore that her movements were exactly the same as Meng Zeyan’s!
After demonstrating twice more, Meng Zeyan moved away and gave the place back to Tang Huan, and he stood aside and watched.
Tang Huan took the lead and his movements were skillful. In no time at all, a square appeared.
Once again, another rhombus…
Tang Huan glanced at the side and held the rolling pin in his hand. “How about you teach me?”
“Forget it, I’ll ask my mom to teach me how to make it.” Meng Zeyan settled for the second best and turned to walk to Comrade Xing Cui to watch how she made the strange shapes into the shape of ingots.
What’s the meaning? Do you dislike her for not being able to learn?
Tang Huan worked hard and put more effort into her work than the last one. Although the shapes were still not good-looking, they were the result of her hard work.
This time I pinched a little more, boiled some of it and fried the rest in oil to make dumplings for Meng Zeyan to take with him on the road.
Tang Huan had just finished lunch and was helping to clean up the dishes when the sound of a car was heard at the gate.
She looked outside with the plate in her hand. It was the same military vehicle that had come the day her uncle came back. Last time it had brought him back, and this time it should be taking him to the army.
Meng Zeyan walked out of the yard, and Tang Huan carried the plate back to the kitchen.
Xing Cui was busy making the remaining dumplings into fried dumplings, and Tang Huan took on the task of washing the dishes.
Meng Zeyan went to the gate and called the comrade who was driving to come down and bring him into the yard. He was not in a hurry to leave yet, and it would not be appropriate to let the guards wait in the car.
