Chapter 728: Taken Away

Yu Qingfeng laughed heartily, observing his daughter’s displeasure, he couldn’t help but jest, “Jinhe, the capable one takes on more tasks.”

Once again, Wang Jinhe didn’t feel like conversing with Yu Qingfeng. However, seeing him like this made her slightly annoyed, “Dad, you’re talking about yourself. You’re the capable one, yet you prefer to be lazy.”

Yu Qingfeng chuckled softly, “I need to prepare for my old age.”

Wang Jinhe gave Yu Qingfeng a sarcastic look, “You’re already talking about preparing for old age even though Grandpa hasn’t mentioned it.”

“And you’re only forty this year, why talk about aging? Don’t forget, your youngest son is only three years old,” Wang Jinhe retorted, feeling exasperated.

He really had the nerve to say such things.

With Mother not around, it seemed like he was starting to say anything that came to mind, unrestrained.

“Dad, I think it’s because Mom isn’t here that you can say such things. If Mom were here, would you dare say the same?”

Yu Qingfeng found his daughter’s complaints quite amusing.

“I had my responsibilities and was very happy when I was with your mother.” In Jiuning’s absence, he could only find things to do in this manner; otherwise, he’d be idle and stagnant without his wife and children around.

Wang Jinhe chuckled twice and showed no interest in engaging with Yu Qingfeng.

“Dad, do you think Uncle and the others are alright?”

“Don’t worry, your uncle won’t give those people a chance to escape,” Yu Qingfeng answered, understanding what Wang Jinhe wanted to know.

The Yu family residence had already been destroyed by Yu Jingchuan.

A fire engulfed the Yu family residence, all orchestrated by Yu Jingchuan.

Yu Baiya and his grandfather were left on the side, with Yu Baiya covered in blood. If it weren’t for the slight rise and fall of his chest, some would believe he was already dead.

Yu Jingchuan glanced at the person lying on the ground, feigning death, and coldly remarked, “Yu Baiya, stop pretending. I’m calculated in my actions; it’s just a superficial wound. Don’t make yourself look like you’re on the brink of death.”

One sentence from Yu Jingchuan made Yu Baiya open his eyes, his face stained red with blood, “Those people are truly useless. With so many of them there, they actually let you escape.”

No one had expected Yu Jingchuan to still be alive, living under their noses all these years.

Many from the Yu family perished, especially those from their lineage, dying every year. However, they had never considered the possibility of Yu Jingchuan being alive.

“Yu Jingchuan, do you think destroying the Yu family will avenge your wife and children? When did you become so naive?”

Seeing Yu Baiya, still attempting to provoke him despite his severe injuries, Yu Jingchuan chuckled, “I will seek out those behind me. They will suffer greatly, but you probably won’t be around to witness it.”

“I’ll take care of this person,” Yu Jingchuan said, looking at Yuan Xu beside him.

Then, he looked down at the elder of the Yu family on the ground, “You can take this person back and report to them.”

To Yu Jingchuan, this ancestor of the Yu family was nothing more than a mere object.

With a single sentence, his fate was sealed.

“Understood.”

Yuan Xu took the ancestor of the Yu family away.

Nan Qiao and Luo Hou exchanged a glance before leaving.

“Sister-in-law, this uncle is too ruthless, even more so than Brother Yu.” They thought.

Yu Shan glanced at the fleeing Nan Qiao and others, “Master, you scared the kids.”

Yu Jingchuan looked at the departing duo and raised an eyebrow, “With their personalities, do you think I could really scare them?”

They knew exactly  who Nan Qiao and Luo Hou is in Forget sorrow City. With their clear understanding, could a small incident like this genuinely scare them?

Yu Shan couldn’t help but chuckle. He had to admit that the master was right; they indeed wouldn’t be easily frightened.

After leaving the Yu family, Nan Qiao suddenly halted and turned to Luo Hou beside him, “Do you find Yu Jingchuan a bit familiar?”

Luo Hou paused for a moment, his brow furrowed slightly as he thought about Yu Jingchuan’s appearance. Indeed, there was a hint of familiarity there.

It seemed like they had encountered him somewhere before, but upon closer reflection, the memory eluded him.

“I can’t recall now, but I have a feeling we must have met him somewhere. Just can’t remember where,” Luo Hou shook his head.

Nan Qiao shared the same sentiment as Luo Hou. He couldn’t pinpoint where they had seen Yu Jingchuan before, but he was certain they had indeed crossed paths.

“Forget about it if we can’t remember. Let’s head back. However, we should stay away from this person in the future. I have a feeling he’s trouble,” Nan Qiao muttered.

“Alright, we’ll follow your lead.”

Upon returning to the mansion and finding Wang Jinhe there, Nan Qiao and Luo Hou finally felt relieved.

“You’re back?”

“Sister-in-law, Yuan Xu has already brought the person back. Didn’t you see him?” Nan Qiao asked, puzzled.

Yuan Xu had left before them, so why hadn’t the person returned by now?

Frowning, Wang Jinhe looked at Nan Qiao, “You say Yuan Xu has returned? I didn’t see anyone.”

Nan Qiao and Luo Hou exchanged a glance, “Sister-in-law, you stay here, we’ll go look for him.”

The two swiftly departed. When they found Yuan Xu, everyone else beside him was already dead, and he himself was severely injured and unconscious.

Nan Qiao examined Yuan Xu and his expression turned extremely serious, “The person who attacked was too ruthless. Everyone else was killed with a single blow; their strength far exceeds Yuan Xu’s.”

“Yuan Xu’s martial arts skills are already impressive. Who could be more skilled than him? The ancestor has also been taken away.”

“For now, let’s focus on getting him back before discussing further.”

Seeing Nan Qiao and the others return with Yuan Xu, Wang Jinhe’s eyes reflected concern, “What happened? How did Yuan Xu get injured like this?”

“Sister-in-law, don’t worry, Yuan Xu will be fine.”

“What’s going on, Nan Qiao? How did Yuan Xu end up like this?” Wang Jinhe hurriedly inquired, following along anxiously.

“We don’t know either. When we found Yuan Xu, he was already in that state, and the others had lost their lives. As for the person Yuan Xu brought back, he was taken away by someone,” Nan Qiao said, frowning.

Luo Hou considered the situation, his gaze turning slightly cold, “This person has likely been at the Yu family all along. They must have intervened only after seeing Yuan Xu taking the person away. They probably thought Yuan Xu was dead or were in a rush to retrieve the person, or else they wouldn’t have let Yuan Xu go so easily.”

Nan Qiao nodded in agreement, “Luo Hou is right. We need to investigate this thoroughly later. Whoever dared to harm Brother Yu’s people must face consequences.”

Those who targeted Yuan Xu were bound to meet their end.

“Alright, Nan Qiao, tend to Yuan Xu’s wounds first. Make sure he’s well taken care of.”

“Sister-in-law, don’t worry.”

Wang Jinhe returned to the study to write a letter to Su Yu.

The incident with Yuan Xu being severely injured left her feeling uneasy.

She hoped the letter would reach Su Yu’s hands soon.

Yu Jingchuan returned from the Yu family covered in blood. Wang Jinhe looked at him and spoke, “Uncle, that person has been taken away, and Yuan Xu was badly injured by him and is currently unconscious.”
