Chapter 7: The Crown Prince Can’t Do It?

After giving Xie Yanli a once-over, Shen Huaichuan raised his brows and mocked,
“Someone hurry and go check whether the sun rose from the west today. How is it that His Highness the Crown Prince is actually interested in playing games with us today?”

Everyone present knew that Shen Huaichuan and Xie Yanli were long-time friends, and the Shen family’s power in Jing City was formidable. Shen Huaichuan dared to joke freely with Xie Yanli — they, however, did not dare to follow suit. They all just smiled silently.

Not far away, Jiang Xinhui’s brow furrowed sharply, her eyes brimming with anger. She knew perfectly well why Xie Yanli, who was not the type to sit around and play games, had decided to join today. Under the table, her hand clenched tightly into a fist.

Xie Yanli shot a cold glance at Shen Huaichuan and said flatly,
“Shen Huaichuan, if you’ve drunk too much, go back to your room and sleep. Stop chattering here.”

Shen Huaichuan immediately frowned and retorted,
“Who says I’ve drunk too much? I proposed the game rules, of course I’m participating. Fine then — let’s start with me, and everyone will take turns after.”

He scratched his head in thought, then smirked confidently and said,
“One time, I got so drunk that I drank someone else’s urine.”

The room erupted into an uproar. Seeing the commotion, Shen Huaichuan grinned smugly,
“What are you all waiting for? Hurry up and drink!”

“Huaichuan, you’re the young master of the Shen family — and you’ve done something like that? I’m speechless.”

“Huaichuan, are you making this up just to win the game? Why would you do something so disgusting?”

Shen Huaichuan shot them a disdainful look,
“I wouldn’t lie for something like this. Enough nonsense — drink up.”

After berating him a little, everyone begrudgingly picked up their glasses. Song Qiao was no exception; she raised her glass and downed it in one gulp.

Xie Yanli’s lips tightened imperceptibly as he watched Song Qiao drink so boldly.

Once everyone had drunk, it was Xie Yanli’s turn. For a man already standing at the top of the social pyramid, everyone was intensely curious about what he’d say. The crowd fell silent, all eyes fixed on him.

Xie Yanli glanced slowly around and spoke in an unhurried tone:
“I once had a one-night stand.”

The words landed like a muffled thunderclap, instantly blowing up the entire room. If someone else had said it, maybe it wouldn’t have been so shocking — but Xie Yanli? The aloof, untouchable Crown Prince of Jing City, known for his indifference to women? He had a one-night stand? My god! Was this really something they were allowed to hear?

If word of this got out, it would surely shake all of Jing City. Everyone exchanged glances, and soon their eyes shifted toward Song Qiao and Jiang Xinhui.

Song Qiao’s fingers curled involuntarily. She noticed all the gazes converging on her, her eyes darkening slightly. Then, acting indifferent, she looked back at the crowd without saying a word.

Xie Yanli caught her nonchalant expression from the corner of his eye, his thin lips pressing into a straight line. Jiang Xinhui, on the other hand, forcibly suppressed her anger and calmly faced the crowd.

The atmosphere in the room grew subtly tense until Shen Huaichuan broke the silence,
“Anyone else here ever had a one-night stand? If not, we’re going to lose and have to drink.”

“I have.”
“Me too.”

Soon, two cautious hands rose in the crowd.

Song Qiao recognized them — they both looked refined and well-mannered. She hadn’t expected they’d had such experiences. Then she thought of Xie Yanli — wasn’t this Crown Prince always projecting an upright, woman-averse image? And yet he had done the same thing.

He had a one-night stand, and he still had the nerve to claim he was a clean freak? Song Qiao pursed her lips, irritation bubbling up in her heart.

Seeing hands raised, Xie Yanli straightforwardly downed two shots of baijiu.

At that moment, Shen Huaichuan stood again and reminded everyone sternly,
“We’re all brothers and friends here. What’s said at the table stays at the table. If I find out anyone dares leak today’s talk, I won’t forgive it.”

Everyone understood exactly what he meant — leaking the Crown Prince’s secret was tantamount to suicide. They all nodded in agreement, and only then did Shen Huaichuan sit back down, satisfied.

Next, it was Song Qiao’s turn. Knowing she couldn’t escape under Shen Huaichuan’s watch, she stood and said seriously,
“I was in a car accident once.”

As soon as she finished, a long, mocking voice came from the crowd,
“Ha! That’s nothing. I’ve had that too.”

Song Qiao realized her answer wasn’t unique enough. She had already resigned herself to drinking. She picked up her glass and poured it down her throat in one go. Then she quickly refilled her glass, shut her eyes, gritted her teeth, and drank it again.

When she finished, everyone gave her a thumbs-up, praising her drinking ability.

As others took turns revealing their secrets amid laughter and chatter, Xie Yanli pressed his lips together and, glancing casually at Song Qiao, asked,
“I remember you used to never touch alcohol. How come you can drink so much now?”

Song Qiao was feeling dizzy from drinking too quickly. Assuming Xie Yanli was belittling her, her face flushed red as she shot back,
“I thought President Xie didn’t do one-night stands either? And yet you did. People change.”

Xie Yanli froze, staring directly and openly at her.

Seeing him look her way, Song Qiao worried he’d misunderstand her words as caring too much. She pouted slightly and added,
“Don’t get me wrong. I’m just saying — it doesn’t mean I care about you.”

Xie Yanli’s face darkened instantly, his gaze shifting away.

Having drunk too much, Song Qiao grew distracted. Whatever others said afterward blurred in her ears — all she knew was that when others raised their glasses, she followed suit.

By the time it was Jiang Xinhui’s turn, Song Qiao’s mind cleared slightly. Since they were seated far apart, she strained her ears to catch what Jiang Xinhui would say.

A moment later, Jiang Xinhui’s gentle voice drifted out,
“I’m still a virgin.”

The room fell completely silent. At their age, in this fast-paced era, most people had already experienced everything. Someone as pure as Jiang Xinhui was rare.

However, everyone’s curiosity only deepened. After all, when Xie Yanli went abroad, Jiang Xinhui had followed him. Now he’d returned, and so had she — clearly, there was something between them.

But if Jiang Xinhui was still a virgin, things didn’t quite add up. Everyone’s minds involuntarily replayed Shen Huaichuan’s earlier words — could it be the Crown Prince really had… an issue in that area?

As their furtive gazes shifted toward Xie Yanli, Song Qiao suddenly shot to her feet. Unsteady, she declared,
“Me too.”

The entire room was stunned. After all, Song Qiao had once been Xie Yanli’s legitimate girlfriend. Though they were both young back then, with youthful impulses and burning passion — no one would believe nothing had happened between them.

Yet here Song Qiao was, standing up with clear eyes, essentially confirming the possibility that the Crown Prince might really be… incapable.

At that moment, Shen Huaichuan meaningfully patted Xie Yanli’s shoulder and, dropping a bomb of his own, quipped,
“Yanli, you really should take some supplements.”
