Chapter 33: Chaotic Scene
Yu Mozhi and the little brown bear locked eyes for two seconds. In the end, he squatted down and picked up the chubby ball of fluff, his eyes void of any emotional ripples.
The man’s eyes were completely expressionless, while the little one burst into giggles—an extremely contrasting and adorable scene.
Pfft—
Liu Wu couldn’t help but want to laugh, but he also felt a bit envious.
Although Yu Mozhi’s luck had always been pretty terrible, no one knew where he’d managed to pick up such a well-behaved little dumpling.
He had originally said he’d slowly correct the child’s way of calling him, but judging by the current situation, he’d clearly already given in. Correct it? No chance.
That afternoon, they went to inspect the studio. Since the location was suitable, it was finalized. After settling most matters, Liu Wu didn’t stick around; he was still busy contacting lawyers. The sooner the contract was terminated, the sooner they could clarify things, and then enter a film crew to lay low for a while. It was also a good opportunity to observe how the company would react.
Two days passed just like that. With Liu Wu’s moves, a new storm broke out online. Previously, the comments were overwhelmingly one-sided—praising Jiang Nianyue while stepping on Yu Mozhi.
Now, however, Yu Mozhi’s schedule before his work halt was revealed, along with the announcements he had accepted. Anyone with eyes could see that the gigs assigned to Yu Mozhi were completely beneath someone of his status. These were the kinds of jobs usually given to new rookies—or ads from companies that had a partnership with Suiyue Liuguang (the agency). The agency even tried to force Yu Mozhi into endorsements to artificially inflate his popularity.
Yu Mozhi, dissatisfied with some of the products from these advertisers—and not being someone who liked taking endorsement deals or appearing on variety shows—refused them. As a result, the company clearly had retaliatory motives in his schedule arrangement.
And so, what had originally been a one-sided scolding turned into an unprecedented war of insults in the entertainment circle.
“I don’t care what problems Yu Mozhi has. He bullied his juniors and sabotaged little Nianyue behind the scenes. I can’t accept that. Do you think we Nianyue mama fans are pushovers?”
“Disgusting. How old is Jiang Nianyue already? Still has mama fans? Hasn’t he been weaned yet? So effeminate—I’m starting to suspect he might be gay.”
“What does any of this have to do with our gege?? Mozhi fans, could you please watch your mouths? Your idol hasn’t even said anything yet, and you’re already the ones acting like victims? If he didn’t do anything wrong, why isn’t he speaking up? Feeling guilty?”
“You don’t even know how much our gege has suffered in this agency. Luckily, little Nianyue is the company’s young master. Otherwise, there’d be no one to stand up for him.”
“I think both the agency and Yu Mozhi are equally awful. They’re like dogs biting each other and spitting out fur. Hilarious. Now they’re spraying each other like mad.”
At this moment, in the group chat of Yu Mozhi’s biggest fans, everyone who had been so furious just a few days ago now felt somewhat numb.
After all, they’d been the ones fighting every single day, trying to protect the one person who hadn’t uttered a single word. Investing that much emotion was truly exhausting. Plus, since Yu Mozhi mainly focused on film, he had far fewer fans compared to idol celebrities. A single comment from them could be drowned out by ten responses from Jiang Nianyue’s fans.
Take Wang Yuxiu for example—her online ID was “Chu Xiu.” She was currently Yu Mozhi’s biggest fan and had organized many events. Because of her active involvement, she also had Liu Wu’s contact information.
Seeing the situation in the group, she couldn’t help but sigh.
Fans who had originally gone silent were now popping up in the chat, all asking Chu Xiu what was really going on. They had only heard that Yu Mozhi had some dispute with his agency—they didn’t know things had already been this bad before.
