Chapter 49
With a bang.
The wild boar slammed heavily into the big tree where Ye Fengjiao was. The trunk shook for a moment and dry leaves kept falling down, looking like rain.
Ye Fengjiao was so scared that she cried loudly and held the tree trunk tightly, not daring to let go.
Jiang Yan frowned as she looked at the wild boar under the tree. She looked at He Hongxiu on another branch and asked, “Sister-in-law, have you ever encountered wild boars when you came here to pick mushrooms?”
He Hongxiu shook her head. “There are indeed wild boars in the mountains, but I haven’t heard anyone say they’ve seen one in the mountains around the military area or the village. Even the hunters in the village would have to climb two or three more mountains to hunt wild boars.”
Yuan Sufeng hugged the thick branch and asked curiously, “The foot of this mountain is the military farm. People are active there. In addition, there has been plenty of rain in the past two years, and there is no shortage of food on the mountain. How could there be wild boars here?”
Jiang Yan looked solemn. “It’s obvious that this wild boar is not an adult. If it hasn’t grown up yet, is there any family of it around?”
Jiang Yan remembered that wild boars live in family groups, and this wild boar was obviously not yet an adult, which meant that there was probably an adult wild boar around.
If this were true, things would be troublesome. Fortunately, Feng Yingchun made up for her knowledge gaps in time.
“Not necessarily. I’ve heard from an old hunter in the village that a half-grown boar like this is the easiest to hunt.
Old hunters like this kind of wild boar the most because they have just left their family, have not yet grown in size, and do not have much experience in independent living. ”
Yuan Sufeng hurriedly said, “Hurry up and see if this is just a boar or a sow? If it’s a boar, it must have strayed from the herd. If it’s a sow, we’re doomed.”
Several people looked at the wild boar opposite, but the wild boar was in the grass on the other side of the big tree and could not see the specific situation.
Jiang Yan looked at Ye Fengjiao and shouted, “Ye Fengjiao, don’t just stand there, check to see if it’s a boar or a sow.”
But Ye Fengjiao was already frightened silly. She hugged the tree trunk tightly and shook her head. She couldn’t hear anything and could only cry loudly.
“Wuwuwu, help me, Lao Ge, come and save me.”
“Someone, help me.”
“I don’t want to die. I don’t want to die. I haven’t lived enough.”
“It’s all your fault. Why did you have to come to the mountain to pick mushrooms? Now you’re going to lose your life.”
Ye Fengjiao cried and howled, and Jiang Yan rolled her eyes.
Yuan Sufeng angrily said, “You followed me here on your own initiative, and you still have the nerve to blame us? If you hadn’t yelled at us, we would have run away long ago and wouldn’t have alarmed the wild boar at all, you troublemaker!”
He Hongxiu said: “It’s useless to say this now. We have to find a way to leave safely. The wild boar is very persistent and will not let us go easily.”
As he was speaking, the wild boar slammed violently into the tree where Ye Fengjiao was standing. The trunk shook even more violently, and Ye Fengjiao turned pale with fright.
Feng Yingchun also looked a little terrified, and said in a trembling voice: “But none of us can beat a wild boar. This wild boar doesn’t look like an adult yet, but it’s not much different. It’s very strong.”
Hearing this, He Hongxiu and Yuan Sufeng both sighed, looking at the wild boar under the tree helplessly.
They are temporarily safe now, but the wild boars can’t come up and they can’t go down. Once night falls, they will have to endure enough snakes, insects, rats and ants in the forest.
“Ahhh, help!”
Ye Fengjiao was still crying and her hands were bleeding from rubbing against the tree trunk, but she didn’t dare to let go.
The wild boar under the tree stared straight at her in the tree with its dark eyes.
Jiang Yan was thinking hard about how to get out of this predicament.
They had no sharp weapons and were no match for the wild boars in strength. Moreover, the wild boars had thick skin and flesh. With their strength, even with weapons they might not be able to pierce the hard panel.
It’s not possible to just force it.
There is vegetation all around, so it is impossible for the wild boars to be hungry. Instead, they will be cold, hungry, and exhausted.
what to do?
Jiang Yan calmly thought about the current situation and tried to find a solution. He Hongxiu and the other two were also thinking about the weaknesses of this wild boar.
Ye Fengjiao was still crying, and when she saw that Jiang Yan and the other three were indifferent, she became overwhelmed with grief and cried even louder.
“What are you standing there for? Try to save me! If I die, Lao Ge will not let you go.”
“If you don’t save me, I won’t let you go even if I become a ghost.”
“It’s all your fault. You are a bunch of troublemakers. You have done a lot of harm to others.”
Yuan Sufeng and the other two were already scared, and they suppressed their emotions and did not collapse, but Ye Fengjiao kept shirking the responsibility.
He Hongxiu broke off a dry branch nearby and threw it at Ye Fengjiao, her temper exploded for the first time.
“You still have the nerve to say that. When we get back to the family compound, I’ll have Deputy Battalion Commander Ge teach you a lesson.”
Ye Fengjiao didn’t think she was wrong. She always believed that it was Jiang Yan and the others’ fault for coming to the mountain to pick mushrooms.
Jiang Yan didn’t want to get involved in this meaningless argument, so she opened the system panel and looked at the warehouse storage.
There is nothing useful. The only thing that might be useful is fish bait.
But she sprinkled a small handful when no one was paying attention, and it had no effect at all. The wild boar had no reaction to it.
Broken system.
It’s useless at the critical moment.
After complaining in her heart, Jiang Yan suddenly noticed from the corner of her eye that there was a sharp rock behind the tree where she was hiding.
In an instant, an idea flashed in her mind and she thought of a solution, but this solution was risky.
She discussed it in a low voice with He Hongxiu and the other two, and the three of them turned around to look at the sharp stone.
“Can you do it?”
He Hongxiu was a little worried that if the plan failed, someone would really die.
“There is no other way. We don’t have any weapons.” Jiang Yan sighed and said, “It would be great if we had a gun.”
“Sister Jiang Yan, I’ll listen to you. Let’s give it a try.” Yuan Sufeng agreed with Jiang Yan’s plan.
Seeing that the four were plotting something, Ye Fengjiao hurriedly shouted, “Do you have any ideas? Save me quickly.”
Jiang Yan rolled her eyes at her and said, “Stay on the tree and don’t cause any trouble for us, or you’ll die.”
“Okay, okay.”
Ye Fengjiao nodded repeatedly and for the first time did not go against Jiang Yan.
Seeing her cooperation, Jiang Yan continued, “Find a way to attract the wild boar’s attention, and I’ll make some arrangements.”
“ah?”
Ye Fengjiao was subconsciously reluctant and murmured, “The wild boar is not with me, how can I attract it?”
Jiang Yan explained: “Not enough, I want to get down from the tree, you have to make sure it doesn’t notice me.”
Upon hearing this, Ye Fengjiao immediately became suspicious and asked, “What if you run away? I won’t do it unless you attract the wild boars and I get down from the tree.”
At such an important time, Ye Fengjiao was still thinking about herself.
Jiang Yan cursed, “Are you fucking mentally ill? If I let you go, we’ll be really finished. If you don’t run, I’ll write my name upside down.”
