The fierce glint in Lu Tinghe’s eyes faded in an instant. He leaned lazily against the back of his chair, casting a disdainful look at Shang Li.
“So, your secret crush failed. The other person doesn’t like you?”
“Mm.”
Shang Li lowered her eyes and responded softly, clearly unwilling to continue the topic.
Lu Tinghe said nothing more. For a moment, the atmosphere grew stifling.
Bo Yanzhi propped his chin on one hand, his gaze burning as he stared at Tan Weiwei’s face. “What’s so great about having a secret crush? I have one too. Want to guess who it is?”
Tan Weiwei shuddered the moment she heard this frivolous man speak. “You have a crush on the pig they’re raising over at the Agricultural School.”
Bo Yanzhi burst into laughter. “Tan Weiwei, I didn’t expect someone would actually call themselves a pig.”
Tan Weiwei froze for a second, then instantly caught on to what Bo Yanzhi meant. She exploded: “Screw you!”
Her outburst was so loud that the professor lecturing in the front row immediately darkened his face. Grabbing the microphone, he bellowed, “You four in the back—if you don’t want to attend class, get out! This isn’t a teahouse for chit-chat!”
The teaching assistant beside him whispered, “Professor Wu, that’s Lu Tinghe…”
“I don’t care if he’s Lu Tinghe, Lu Crane, or a red-crowned crane! Even if Jingbei’s richest man came to my class, he still can’t chat in here!”
A student in the front row couldn’t help but mutter, “Jingbei’s richest man is his Father…”
Lu Tinghe stood up and gave a slight bow. “Apologies, Professor. Sorry for disturbing your class. I’ll wait for Shang Li outside.”
With that, he strode out of the classroom with Bo Yanzhi.
Over an hour later, Shang Li and Tan Weiwei exited the academic building after class and saw Lu Tinghe leaning against the wall under the afternoon sun.
He was still wearing that white shirt, and the conspicuous coffee stain on it made Shang Li’s heart tighten. Her temples throbbed.
She quickly walked over. “What did you want to see me for?”
Lu Tinghe tilted his head. Those captivating, flirtatious eyes sparkled with a playful smile, utterly enchanting. “After what I did today, don’t you think I deserve a thank you?”
“…You waited over an hour just for a ‘thank you’?”
Shang Li puffed out her soft, fair cheeks. “Thank you.”
Lu Tinghe: “Not enough.”
“Then… then what do you want?”
“Wash my shirt for me.”
Bo Yanzhi: “……”
Lu Tinghe had a serious case of mysophobia. If it had been anyone else who got his shirt dirty, he would’ve tossed it without a second thought. And now he wanted someone to wash it?
That little scheme of his could probably be heard all the way from the Maldives in the southern Indian Ocean.
Shang Li’s pupils trembled. “You waited until after class just to ask me to wash your shirt?”
“Mm.”
“Oh. Then take it off and give it to me.”
Lu Tinghe gave a roguish smile. “Take off my clothes? Right now? Are you sure?”
Shang Li choked on her words. “Then bring it to me tomorrow.”
“Can’t wait till tomorrow,” Lu Tinghe said, already turning around on his own accord. “Come with me.”
Shang Li, helpless, followed Lu Tinghe. Meanwhile, Tan Weiwei, who hadn’t said a word until now, crossed her arms and furrowed her graceful brows as she stared at their retreating figures, her suspicions growing deeper by the second.
“What’s with Lu Tinghe? Is he hitting on Lili? Trying to two-time?”
Suddenly, a low male voice sounded beside her. “Lu Tinghe isn’t two-timing. But I do know someone who is.”
Tan Weiwei was so startled by Bo Yanzhi that she nearly slapped him on reflex. “Can’t you walk like a normal person? You got legs or not?!”
Bo Yanzhi shamelessly patted his own legs. “My legs are plenty long. Not just these two—my third leg’s long too.”
Tan Weiwei nearly laughed from sheer exasperation at his lewd tone. She glared and snapped, “You jerk, you are sick.”
Bo Yanzhi didn’t look the least bit offended. “So, you and Chu Yan haven’t held hands yet?”
“What’s it to you? Even if I did hold hands with Chu Yan, I’d never get together with you!”
Bo Yanzhi looked a little disgruntled. “Why not? What’s so wrong with me?”
Tan Weiwei looked at Bo Yanzhi’s narrow, fox-like eyes, and suddenly, she smiled with an alluring look.
She leaned in closer to the man, her soft white hand grabbing the collar of his blue shirt, and gently pulled him toward her.
Bo Yanzhi bent down, and his handsome face was now only a few centimeters away from Tan Weiwei’s.
Tan Weiwei curled her red lips. “Do you know where you’re lacking?”
“No, but you tell me.”
Tan Weiwei smirked. “Your third leg isn’t long enough.”
Bo Yanzhi froze for a second, then couldn’t help but snap, “You’ve seen it? Seen Chu Yan’s too? Have you two slept together?”
Tan Weiwei pushed him away with a forceful shove. “Yes, we’ve slept together. Tried every position.”
Bo Yanzhi’s eyes darkened slightly, then he turned with a teasing smile. “Then how do you know he’s better, and not me?”
Tan Weiwei couldn’t hold back anymore.
She had tried to play the role of the seductive woman to scare Bo Yanzhi off, but little did she know, there were always mountains beyond mountains, and people beyond people. She had no experience, and she couldn’t be as seductive as this man who had “seductive” written all over his face.
“Bo Yanzhi, I’m warning you. If you don’t leave, I’ll call the police!”
Bo Yanzhi raised an eyebrow. “The police? What will they arrest me for? Teasing a pig?”
“You’re the pig! Your whole family is pigs!”
“You just called yourself a pig earlier.”
Tan Weiwei looked like she was about to explode. Her bright, almond-shaped eyes seemed to hide daggers as she lifted her leg and kicked Bo Yanzhi’s knee with all her strength.
“Ouch!”
Bo Yanzhi hadn’t expected her to actually strike him, and he bent down in pain.
“Get the hell out of here, or I’ll cut off your third leg!”
Without giving him a chance to react, she turned and ran off.
…
Meanwhile, Shang Li followed Lu Tinghe to the school parking lot.
Lu Tinghe had just driven in a low-profile black Mercedes S-Class. He walked to the passenger side, opened the door, and casually rested his hand on the window. “Get in.”
Shang Li asked, “Where are we going?”
She looked up at him with an innocent and obedient expression, her voice soft and sweet.
“To find a place to take off clothes.”
Shang Li: “?!!”
The Mercedes sped along the elevated highway, and Shang Li’s heart was racing, matching the speed of the car.
Lu Tinghe gripped the steering wheel and suddenly spoke, “Shang Li.”
“Hm?”
“How about you tell me what the person you have a crush on is like?”
Shang Li clenched her small hands tightly, not daring to look at Lu Tinghe. She was afraid that every time they made eye contact, her evasive gaze would reveal her feelings.
She couldn’t say, “That person is you.”
She certainly didn’t dare to say that the moment she laid eyes on him, she wanted to have a story with him.
She was afraid he would laugh at her, thinking she wasn’t worthy.
Shang Li bit her lip and spoke in a soft, sweet tone. “He… he’s really good.”
Lu Tinghe tightened his grip on the steering wheel and casually asked, “Oh? Is he very outstanding?”
“Yes.”
“How outstanding?”
Shang Li fell silent for a long time, as if going through an internal struggle. Finally, she spoke slowly, “It’s all from a long time ago, I’ve forgotten.”
Lu Tinghe’s thin lips moved slightly, and his black eyes reflected the sunlight through the windshield. Suddenly, his mood seemed to lighten.
“Mm, it’s good you’ve forgotten.”
