Tan Weiwei vaguely sensed something and her clear, bright eyes suddenly became as transparent as jade, as though they had been washed clean.
She turned her best friend’s face towards her, “Li Li, tell me honestly, what did you see at Hongxing City?”
Shang Li unconsciously licked her soft lips, her moist little mouth tinted with a layer of water-like color. “Well… I saw Senior Chu and Gu Wanying… kissing.”
As soon as the words left her mouth, the surrounding air became still, so heavy it felt suffocating.
Tan Weiwei only heard a loud boom in her head, as though it had been blasted into emptiness in an instant.
Time passed, yet neither of them spoke.
One second, ten seconds, one minute…
Finally, Shang Li couldn’t hold it in anymore. She grabbed Tan Weiwei’s hand, “Weiwei, are you okay?”
Tan Weiwei took a deep breath, closed her eyes for a moment, then opened them again, trying to hold back the tears that were threatening to spill. “Li Li, you should have told me earlier. These past few days, I’ve been so worried about whether Chu Yan, that dog of a man, would get into trouble. How could I have been so stupid!”
“I’m sorry,” Shang Li choked, tightening her grip on her best friend’s hand. “I didn’t want to stir things up or affect your relationship. I was hoping Senior Chu might come to talk to you, and that it might be a misunderstanding…”
“Tss, a misunderstanding?” Tan Weiwei turned her head, glaring with bloodshot eyes. “How could it be a misunderstanding when they’re hugging and kissing like that? No wonder that bitch Gu Wanying swore yesterday that Chu Yan didn’t like me.”
Tan Weiwei furrowed her brows tightly, her cheeks flushed with anger, “Damn, since Chu Yan treated me like this, then I’ll go even harder!”
“…” Shang Li’s heart tightened. She pulled Tan Weiwei in her direction, trying to calm her down. “Don’t get worked up. You don’t even know who spread this news. What if it has nothing to do with Senior Chu? What if it’s some kind of trap?”
Tan Weiwei looked up at Shang Li, her voice half threatening, half commanding. “If you’re my best friend, don’t stop me. Come with me to get even! Got it?! Huh?!”
Shang Li: “…”
Before they reached the Futing Hotel, Tan Weiwei stopped by the convenience store at the school gate. Shang Li waited for her outside, not knowing what she bought inside.
Shang Li gripped her phone, her heart racing as though it might leap out of her chest.
She couldn’t shake the feeling that it wasn’t appropriate for two girls to barge into a couples’ hotel like this, and she didn’t know who to contact for help.
Bo Yan Zhi liked Tan Weiwei—should she contact Bo Yan Zhi?
As she was pondering this, Tan Weiwei came out of the convenience store, looking determined as ever, with an expression that seemed to defy death itself. “Let’s go. Let’s catch them in the act.”
Shang Li: “…”
…
A short while later, at the door of Room 505 at Futing Hotel.
Tan Weiwei stood tall in front of the door, her chest out, her face, usually full of smiles, now rare and devoid of expression, radiating cold anger.
Shang Li was afraid that Tan Weiwei, in her fury, might do something impulsive and irreparable, so she took a step forward to block her path. “Weiwei, are you sure you want to do this? If it’s not Chu Yan and Gu Wanying in there, we might just get scolded for barging in. But if it is them, just… don’t act recklessly. Take it easy, alright?”
Tan Weiwei snorted. “You’re afraid I might do something reckless? Like chopping people up with a knife?”
Shang Li cupped her mouth in surprise, “You didn’t buy a knife in the convenience store, did you?”
“Shut up,” Tan Weiwei rolled her eyes. “Have you ever seen a convenience store that sells knives?”
Shang Li was stunned into silence for a moment, then realized that since Tan Weiwei could still joke, she probably still had some level of rationality. She grabbed her best friend’s sleeve. “Let’s just go. We’ll talk when the timing is right.”
“Ugh, Chu Yan’s been so deceitful to me, and I still need to wait for the right time? I’ll say it when I catch him in the act. If it doesn’t make him impotent, I’ll change my name tomorrow. I’ll call myself Shang Weiwei!”
Shang Li: “…”
After saying that, Tan Weiwei raised her hand and started pounding on the door.
The loud banging sound echoed through the quiet hotel corridor, making it feel out of place and jarring.
Suddenly, a familiar male voice came from inside the room, “Who is it?”
Shang Li’s heart skipped a beat.
It was over, it really sounded like Chu Yan was inside.
Tan Weiwei, however, remained calm and composed, speaking in a forced voice, “Sir, your room service is here.”
With a click, the door opened. Chu Yan appeared, his strong upper body exposed, wrapped only in a towel, standing in front of them.
When he saw Tan Weiwei, his expression froze, as if he had been struck by lightning, momentarily losing his ability to speak.
Tan Weiwei crossed her arms, giving him a seductive glance. With a playful smile, she said, “Oh, nice body. Have you finally decided to eat meat?”
“Weiwei… what are you…”
He had barely begun to speak when Tan Weiwei lifted her beautiful leg and kicked him forcefully between the legs.
The powerful impact slammed into his body with a loud thud. Chu Yan let out a miserable cry and bent over, half sitting on the ground. He looked as though he would never be able to stand again.
From a few steps away, Shang Li could even feel the intense pain, and she couldn’t help but close her eyes, thinking to herself that this man truly deserved it.
Tan Weiwei bypassed the still crouching Chu Yan, taking quick strides into the room.
On the bed, Gu Wanying seemed to have anticipated something. She grabbed the blanket and covered her chest.
Her eyes widened in shock, clearly not expecting Tan Weiwei to take such action. She nervously moved back, her lips trembling.
Tan Weiwei approached the side of the bed, tilting her head and smiling at her. “Little slut, did you send me that message?”
Gu Wanying continued to pretend to be clueless, stubbornly replying, “I don’t know what you’re talking about. Tan Weiwei, you saw it yourself, Chu Yan is with me now. Please leave, or I’ll call the police!”
Tan Weiwei sneered, her eyes filled with disdain. “You know very well why he’s with you. It’s because you spread your legs faster than anyone else.”
Gu Wanying, unable to bear it, suddenly shouted viciously, “What are you talking about?! You’re the one who refuses to sleep with anyone, and now you’re blaming me because your man left you?!”
Tan Weiwei remained calm. “I only sleep with people who deserve it. As for Chu Yan, a scum worse than a pig or a dog, he’s all yours.”
After speaking, Tan Weiwei pulled out the hot green tea she had just bought at the convenience store, unscrewed the bottle cap, and poured the entire contents over Gu Wanying’s head.
The woman screamed in agony, her voice ripping through the air, “Ahhhhhh!!”
Tan Weiwei casually said, “Here’s your green tea, no need to thank me.”
“Weiwei, stop! Let’s talk this out!”
Seeing this, Chu Yan finally managed to straighten up and tried to step forward to stop it. The next second, Shang Li subtly extended her little leg. Chu Yan didn’t notice.
With a thud, he fell face-first onto the floor, crashing like a dog in the mud.
Shang Li pretended not to care and said, “Oh no, Senior Chu, are you alright? Do you need me to call an ambulance?”
Chu Yan: “…”
Tan Weiwei nonchalantly clapped her hands and turned to leave the hotel. As she passed by the fallen Chu Yan, she didn’t forget to step on his hand, delivering one final blow before leaving.
Chu Yan screamed in agony, “Ahhh!!”
