Chapter 13: Strangle her

“You bully us orphans and widows, no one is backing us up! You’re pushing us to our deaths, if I die, you won’t live either!”

Mother Gu threw the hoe to the ground, grabbed Madam Jiang’s hair, “Slap, slap.” She slapped her face twice, her eyes were red, and she said fiercely: “My son can’t go to school, can’t pass the imperial examination, I don’t have to be afraid anymore! I’ll kill you! And your two sons too!”

“Let me see who dares bully my family again!”

Madam Jiang’s scalp felt like it was being torn off, the pain made her howl. Hearing Mother Gu’s words, she didn’t have time to provoke her further before her neck was firmly gripped.

“Ah… Help… Help…”

Madam Jiang’s face turned red, breathing became difficult, the last air was drawn from her lungs, a suffocating sensation surged.

She clawed desperately at Mother Gu’s hands.

Mother Gu’s hands were like a big pair of pliers, unmoving.

Madam Jiang’s tongue stuck out, drool flowed out, her soul about to drift away, she was so frightened that she wet her pants, her eyeballs rolled to the side, pleading with the curious neighbors for help.

“Help… Save me…”

The neighbors were preparing to step forward.

Su Wan raised the hoe with the tip of her toes, gripped the wooden handle, and her red lips curving into a fierce arc: “I want to see who else is not afraid to die.”

“What are you doing?!” Song Manfu came out of the house, his face turned dark,  and scolding Mother Gu angrily: “What are you going crazy for? Running to my house to cause trouble, you quickly release her, or else I… Ah…”

Su Wan swung the hoe, hooking Song Manfu’s neck, pulling him towards her, and viciously stabbed his abdomen with the hoe.

Song Manfu’s abdomen was in excruciating pain, as if his intestines had been pierced.

Su Wan kicked his legs, and Song Manfu “plop” fell to the ground.

“Hand over the money.”

Song Manfu was almost out of breath, both angry and furious, having lost all face, his dark face particularly distorted.

“Bitch, you’re dreaming… Ah…”

Su Wan kicked a stone over, hitting Song Manfu in the mouth, knocking out one of his front teeth and his mouth full of fresh blood.

“Don’t… Don’t hit me! I… I’ll give it to you!” Mrs. Hu’s legs went weak with fear. She quickly ran into Madam Jiang’s room to retrieve the money and stuff it into Su Wan’s hand. She said with her eyes full of fear and pale face, “Here, here’s for you, you… you, please let them go.”

Su Wan walked to Mother Gu’s side with the money in her hand: “Is this more than three taels of silver?”

“Yes, three taels and six hundred wen.” Mother Gu threw Madam Jiang to the ground fiercely, her eyes full of fierceness: “I’ll let you go this time, but if you provoke my family again, just try it!”

Madam Jiang curled up on the ground, coughing painfully, feeling like a knife was stuck in her throat.

She wanted to tear Mother Gu apart in her heart, but she was too scared, so she just glared fiercely at Mother Gu and Su Wan, wishing she could eat them alive!

“Let’s go home.” Su Wan called Mother Gu and turned to leave.

Madam Jiang’s eyes were red, she picked up a burning stick and swung it at Su Wan’s head.

Su Wan suddenly turned around, her eyes cold, but she saw a pale hand grabbing the stick.

“Cough…” Gu Huaizhi coughed a few times, his expression cold, and admonished, “Madam Jiang, before you act, think about whether you have nine lives like a cat.”

His tone was calm, without any fluctuations, but it sounded chilling to Madam Jiang, sending a shiver down her spine.

Gu Huaizhi let her go.

And Madam Jiang collapsed on the ground.

At this time, a tall figure came out from the room.

Tall and imposing, like a mountain, exuding a strong sense of oppression.

Madam Jiang seemed to see a savior and almost burst into tears of joy. She crawled to the man, pointing at Su Wan and Mother Gu, and said angrily, “Benefactor, please save us! We’re about to be killed by these two scoundrels!”
