“Don’t scare Xinxin, Mother,” Lou Manqing protested.
“Don’t you tarnish your mother’s reputation, you rascal. Otherwise, I’ll have you bedridden for half a month,” Madam Lou scolded Lou Manqing discontentedly.
Speaking ill of her in front of her daughter-in-law? Did this son want to court trouble?
Lou Manqing looked at Madam Lou speechlessly. He now realized that his future wife is now the real daughter, while he seemed more like an adopted child.
Ming Wanxin suppressed a smile as she watched Lou Manqing’s discomfort.
Initially nervous around her future in-laws, Lou Manqing’s antics had lessened her anxiety. Moreover, his parents seemed amiable, giving her hope for a harmonious relationship with them in the future.
After lingering for a while, Old Madam Ming attempted to speak several times but was repeatedly interrupted. Eventually, she left.
The Head of the Ming Family noticed her departure but merely glanced at her before turning away, as if she was just a stranger leaving.
After Lou Manqing’s engagement was settled, Wang Jinhe thought about Nan Qiao and the others.
“Head of the Ming Family, Umcle, my husband has some outstanding young individuals around him. Would you consider betrothing your other daughters to them?” Wang Jinhe asked candidly.
The Ming family’s three brothers looked at Wang Jinhe in surprise. The Ming family head chuckled and asked, “Are you planning to match all our girls in one go?”
“The main point is that your daughters are all exceptional, and the people around Su Yu are also good. It’s better to marry within one’s circle, right? It’s better to have a deep understanding than to rush into blind marriages. In the end, happiness matters. I can’t speak for everything, but I can vouch for the people around Su Yu,” Wang Jinhe asserted.
“Which individuals are you referring to?”
“Nan Qiao, Luo Hou, Luo Yan, and Bai Qi. The others are still out; I’ll ask them when they return.”
“They met Su Yu in the Forget Sorrow City.”
The Ming brothers looked incredulously at Wang Jinhe, “They are from the Forget Sorrow City?”
“Do you mind?”
“How could that be? A hero’s origins are of no concern, let alone the scary tales about the Forget Sorrow City circulating outside,” the Ming family head shook his head.
“Moreover, everyone who comes out of the Forget Sorrow City possesses genuine skills. If my daughter marries someone like that, I would be delighted for her,” the Ming family head said with a smile.
They had heard of these individuals she mentioned.
Moreover, they had interacted with them once or twice, and they were nothing like the rumors circulating outside.
Furthermore, as the Princess aptly pointed out, marrying these individuals would ensure a deep understanding, honesty, and the ability to detect any signs of unhappiness promptly.
No secrets would be hidden from them.
Additionally, he trusted Su Yu’s judgment. If Su Yu treated them well, it must be because they were decent individuals.
“In that case, why don’t our two families arrange for them to meet, and then let things unfold naturally?”
“That’s great,” the three brothers nodded in agreement.
If their daughters could marry well, why would they settle for less?
“Afterward, we’ll leave it to the Princess,” their daughters’ future seemed promising.
“Alright.”
After dining at the Ming residence, Wang Jinhe and her group returned to the Royal Mansion.
Upon their return, Wang Jinhe went straight to find Su Yu.
By that time, Su Yu had already returned and was engrossed in a conversation with Nan Qiao and the others, with everyone present.
There was no need for her to search for anyone specifically.
“You’re all here,” Wang Jinhe greeted.
Nan Qiao and the others instinctively turned to look at Wang Jinhe, feeling slightly embarrassed upon her return.
Watching them like this, Wang Jinhe softly chuckled; they were still just a group of children.
“How are things going, Xiao He?” Su Yu asked, noticing their anticipation but hesitance to speak up.
“In a few days, I’ll arrange for them to come over and hang out. You can see for yourselves then,” Wang Jinhe replied, looking at the group.
Nan Qiao hesitated, looking at Wang Jinhe with uncertainty. “Sister-in-law, are they okay with it?”
“Well, actually, no one really cares where you all come from. The ones who care are you yourselves,” Wang Jinhe furrowed her brow, observing Nan Qiao and the others. Why did they keep emphasizing they were from the Forget Sorrow City?
What’s wrong with coming from the Forget Sorrow City? Can’t they live a good life? What kind of logic is this?
Nan Qiao and the others fell into silence.
Finally, Luo Hou spoke up, “Our families have introduced us to people before, but those individuals are just like that. However, they always mention that we are from the Forget Sorrow City, labeling us as a group of killers. They claim it’s fortunate for us to have them. In short, the words are never pleasant.”
It was because of these comments that they constantly doubted themselves.
Wang Jinhe felt disdain towards those people and was quite displeased. “Are you all foolish? Just blindly believing what those people say.”
“No one thinks that just because you’re from the Forget Sorrow City, you’re killers. So what if you’re from the Forget Sorrow City? Does that mean you don’t deserve a good life? Or a good wife? Let them talk; we won’t. I’ll find good wives for you, and then you can bring them back to prove those who doubted your ability to find a good match wrong.”
“We have wealth, good looks, and capabilities. What kind of wives can’t we find?” Wang Jinhe reassured them.
Of course, it wasn’t just reassurance; each of them truly met those criteria.
With everything they had, why settle for inferior choices?
“Who are we to be as great as you say, Sister-in-law?” Luo Hou said sheepishly.
“You are already exceptional. How many of your peers can achieve what you have? Hardly any, right? They simply can’t do it. Be confident and don’t listen to those with ulterior motives,” Wang Jinhe encouraged.
Nan Qiao nodded earnestly, “We understand, Sister-in-law. We won’t listen to those people.”
Sister-in-law was right; those people were wrong. It was better to listen to Sister-in-law, who treated them well.
Su Yu had always been aware of their sensitivity, but he never expected it to be brought up upon their return.
Looking at Luo Yan, she inquired, “The reason you wanted to blow up the Luo family before was because of this?”
Luo Yan nodded silently, “Yes.”
“They wanted me to agree to a marriage proposal. What kind of people were they trying to marry me off to? They came in all arrogant and didn’t even speak properly in front of me. Some relatives even said, ‘If someone is willing to marry me, don’t be picky; otherwise, you might not find a bride, embarrassing your parents.'”
“My parents were quite angry at that time, and I was also upset. I just thought of blowing up the Luo family, so they wouldn’t have a place to gossip anymore,” Luo Yan obediently explained.
Wang Jinhe twitched her mouth, observing Luo Yan. Indeed, he was ruthless, sparing no one, not even his own family.
