Chapter 10: Shen Chuning is Playing Hard to Get!

That afternoon, the Zhou family proposed marriage to the Shen family, and the news that Zhou Yubai was marrying Shen Chuning spread throughout the entire Ci Hang brigade.

When the news reached the educated youth center, Wang Yumeng was stunned.

Shen Chuning was marrying Zhou Yubai?

But why was the female protagonist marrying Zhou Yubai?

Although Zhou Yubai remained unmarried in the original book, he was the only male supporting character who disliked and even despised the female protagonist.

Chen Ziyun panicked as well.

Although he was now with Wang Yumeng, Shen Chuning was already his possession in his heart. Even if he didn’t plan to marry her, he absolutely wouldn’t allow her to marry someone else!

He would wait until Zhou Yubai returned to the army before making a move.  Perhaps Zhou Yubai would send his allowance to Shen Chuning, and Shen Chuning might give him an extra share of the supplies!

On the other hand, the Zhou family was also discussing Zhou Yubai and Shen Chuning’s marriage.

Zhou’s eldest sister-in-law, Sun Fengjiao, whispered to Zhou’s second sister-in-law, Xia Yue’e, “Second Auntie, did you hear? The dowry Mother gave was so thick, it must be several hundred yuan!”

Xia Yue’e was straightforward.  Hearing her sister-in-law’s words, she immediately exploded, shouting, “What?  Several hundred yuan dowry? Has Mother gone mad?”

“Sigh!” Sun Fengjiao sighed, continuing to stir the pot, “It’s more than several hundred yuan. I heard she also gave bicycle coupons, sewing machine coupons, radio coupons, and watch coupons the ‘three turns and one ring’ and let Shen Chuning buy them herself!”

“I tell you two, stop whispering about these useless things.  I did give Shen family’s daughter five hundred yuan and the ‘three turns and one ring’ coupons, but it was from the third son, not a cent from the family!

Xia Yue’e was sprayed by Lin Shulan’s words, taking a few steps back, embarrassed. She never expected that the money and coupons were all from the third son.
