In the following days, life in the dormitory was different.
At night, after Lu Lin finished showering, with a towel wrapped around his waist, he came to the recording room next door and brought Shi Sheng a cup of honey water to soothe his throat. He took a sip, and his colleagues’ voices came through the headphones.
“I heard that Fu Xin and Zhou Hancun left, the studio is recruiting new people.”
“It seems like they poached someone from another club, and handed over a BL radio drama to him.”
“It couldn’t be that Xiao Yu Jun, could it?”
“Yes, it’s him!”
Shi Sheng listened to his colleagues discussing. This person seemed to have had quite a few collaborations with their studio. He half-listened to their chatter while flipping through scripts, and Lu Lin leaned on the table, slightly bending forward.
Shi Sheng leaned over and planted a kiss on his cheek.
His colleagues thought it was due to headphone interference and paid no attention.
“Shi Sheng, after you finish recording the first episode of Qingshou, do you want to try that BL fan work? But the client wants to add a bed scene as a fan bonus.”
“Oh, right,” a colleague on the other side said, “practicing more isn’t a bad thing anyway, and it doesn’t matter if you can’t take the job.”
The sound from the headphones reached Lu Lin’s ears, and his face immediately darkened. Before Shi Sheng could speak, Lu Lin reached out and lifted his chin, running his fingertips over his lips, staring at him intently.
“Hey, Xiao Shi, why aren’t you saying anything?”
“Xiao Shi?”
So jealous, Shi Sheng mouthed, raising his eyebrows slightly and leaning in to lightly brush his lips against Lu Lin’s, who then felt the tip of his thumb moistening.
He pushed it further in, curling his tongue around it.
“…Forget it, forget it, let’s talk about it next time.” His colleagues saw he wasn’t interested and resumed chatting before starting their practice again.
Not long after, Lu Lin left, his expression seeming a bit off. Shi Sheng licked his lips, spun around in his chair.
When he returned from recording, Lu Lin had set up a table on the bed, busy with some scattered documents. Was it an illusion, or did he feel like Lu Lin had just taken another shower?
Their beds had been merged these past few days, significantly increasing the space. Shi Sheng jumped onto the bed, flopping around a bit, but Lu Lin remained unfazed.
Was it because the earlier kiss wasn’t up to par, lacking in technique? Shi Sheng tentatively asked, “I’m back?”
“Yeah, you hang around for a while first, I’ll finish this first.”
Shi Sheng squinted at him, grabbed his phone from the bedside table, and lay on Lu Lin’s legs, starting to browse Weibo. Occasionally, he glanced up at Lu Lin, only to find him fully engrossed.
But Lu Lin was always like this; once he had something he wanted to do, he would never give up halfway.
Back when he was studying computer science, he had seen the recruitment video for the National Fire Rescue Academy and decisively switched to the fire command major. During the years of closed training, there were five kilometers of weighted running every day, aerobic training, speed endurance training, HIIT training… Even in the evenings, it was not easy.
Shi Sheng still remembered when Lu Lin first entered, he was so tired every day that he barely had the energy to eat, but he persisted. By the time he came out of the base, Shi Sheng almost couldn’t recognize him.
That guy who had tanned a circle, with muscles all over, was he really the same Lu Lin who used to joke and boast about becoming a CEO in the future?
This path wasn’t easy.
As Shi Sheng scrolled through Weibo, he occasionally thought about the past. It seemed like he couldn’t remember, but when he seriously thought about it, it was all still in his mind.
He suddenly came across a joke and chuckled.
“There was a hunter who found a fox, fired a shot, and then died. Do you know why?”
“Why?” Lu Lin asked absentmindedly while writing the documents.
“Because it was a reflex fox,” Shi Sheng blinked, holding back his laughter.
“That’s so lame.”
“What’s lame?” Shi Sheng reached out and touched inside Lu Lin’s pajamas, feeling warm.
“I mean, your joke.”
There was a laptop on the bedside table, and Lu Lin’s attention was divided as he worked, so Shi Sheng, feeling idle, leaned in again, mimicking a cat’s gesture by nudging him with his head.
Lu Lin’s eyes remained fixed on the computer screen as he pressed his hand down on Shi Sheng’s head. “Stop messing around, I’m busy.”
Shi Sheng dragged the blanket onto the bed and rolled around, forming into a ball.
He wasn’t naive; he held the role of the submissive in the BL radio drama firmly. He felt that he already liked Lu Lin very much. Logically, they were supposed to be in a romantic relationship and living together, so there should be some sparks flying between them.
But compared to before, apart from the occasional kisses and hugs, there wasn’t much difference.
Could it be that because they had known each other for ten years, their revolutionary friendship had evolved into love, then swiftly advanced to familial affection?
Shi Sheng fell into contemplation, realizing that they might have entered the seven-year itch phase.
He always felt that Lu Lin was restraining himself a little towards him, but couldn’t figure out the reason. He decided that he needed to improve himself.
He opened Baidu and searched for “how to kiss.” After glancing at Lu Lin, he rolled over to a corner, put on his headphones, and started studying earnestly on Bilibili.
When Lu Lin finally finished his work, he saw Shi Sheng staring at the screen in the corner, seemingly lost in thought.
He leaned over, and Shi Sheng alertly covered his phone and sat up.
“What are you looking at? Don’t want to tell me?”
“I’m not telling you.”
“Really not saying?” Lu Lin grabbed his waist and pulled him into his arms, tickling him. Shi Sheng’s face wore a painful expression, seemingly smiling through the discomfort as he struggled.
Several firefighters passing by the corridor glanced at each other, then simultaneously put their ears to the door.
“Lu Lin! Don’t—”
“Can’t handle it already? We’re not even close yet.”
The voices faintly echoed, leaving the onlookers’ imagination running wild. Between their exchanged glances, they all revealed a somewhat perverse smile.
“They seem to have some issues, they never seem normal.” “Didn’t expect Captain Lin to be so playful, hehe…”
“Let’s go, let’s get out of here quickly. It’s not good to eavesdrop.” They pushed and shoved each other as they left.
At this moment, a certain man, focused on tickling, had no idea that his reputation within the team was crumbling. Shi Sheng grabbed his hand, preventing him from tickling further.
“I have an idea.”
“Go on.”
“I’m going out for a bit tomorrow, I’ll tell you when I get back.”
Shi Sheng clapped his hands, looking mysterious, while Lu Lin raised an eyebrow, reclining on his pillow, wondering what schemes this guy was planning.
