Tall buildings, row upon row, mostly populated by nine-to-five workers. From Lu Yin’s perspective, the CEO of the Shiyi Group had the most loyal lackey.
Whenever she spent money recklessly or did anything, her cousin Lu Chengxin would always report it to their father immediately. So, in her eyes, Lu Lin couldn’t escape this fate either.
At this moment, Lu Chengxin was indeed deeply contemplating as he stared at the electronic registration form. He raised his glasses, hesitating to click with the hand holding the mouse. After a long while, he took a deep breath and opened the kiss video uploaded by Lu Lin.
“Huh, it’s been deleted.”
Lu Chengxin was stunned for a moment, then called the technical department to restore the data and transfer the backup to his computer. He leaned his chair against the edge of the desk, stood up, walked to the window, and pinched the bridge of his nose, feeling annoyed.
Really troublesome. Clearly they were his cousins, but over the years, they made him feel like he was both their father and mother, following behind to clean up their messes. One wasted money recklessly and came to him for help, the other was so reckless that they didn’t even know how to avoid trouble with their own hotel events.
“Should I bring this up or not…”
The technical department messaged, saying that the backup had been transferred.
Lu Chengxin sat back at his desk, turned his laptop in a different direction, and clicked. In the video, there was someone familiar to the point of being unforgettable, doing a stylish handstand and engaging in a perpendicular kiss. He turned his head away in disgust but managed to glance back reluctantly.
His pupils dilated.
“Shi, Shi Sheng?!”
In the car, Shi Sheng sneezed.
“Who’s talking about me?” He took the tissue Lu Lin handed him and wiped his nose. “Are you really going deep into enemy territory, spying on military intelligence?”
“That guy, he might know and pretend not to know, but who knows what he might do behind our backs. It’s better to ask than to worry,” Lu Lin parked the car in the garage, unbuckled his seatbelt, and casually rubbed Shi Sheng’s head. “Be good, buy some ice cream and wander around. I’ll be back soon.”
“Lu Lin,” Shi Sheng swatted his hand away discontentedly, “Even if you’re trying to coax me, you can’t just use an ice cream to appease me.”
“Then how should I appease you?” Lu Lin pinched the back of his neck about to kiss him.
“Ge,” Shi Sheng rubbed his fingers and chuckled, “even buying ice cream costs money.”
Not long after the car door closed, Shi Sheng, who had successfully obtained Lu Lin’s salary card as planned, walked triumphantly toward the mall. Lu Lin touched his lips, buttoned up his suit jacket, and briskly walked in the direction of the elevator.
It’s funny, both calling him “Ge,” but it sounded different coming from Shi Sheng’s mouth compared to Lu Yin’s.
In the top-floor office, after reviewing the documents, Lu Songnian casually signed his name at the end. Lu Chengxin stood in front of the desk, reporting in a steady voice.
“The video?”
Lu Chengxin hesitated, “Uncle, do you really want to see it?”
“I told you to delete it completely.” Lu Songnian closed the pen cap, tossed the pen aside, and leaned back, “What about that brat?”
“He got injured on a mission a few days ago. He should be in the hospital now, but he’s almost fully recovered.”
“He’s getting better at hiding things.”
Lu Songnian waved his hand, and Lu Chengxin walked out.
In fact, over the years, Lu Chengxin knew that Second Uncle wasn’t completely unaware. Lu Lin occasionally hinted that he wouldn’t marry, and indeed, he hadn’t even had a female friend for so many years. Second Uncle even once thought about checking his computer chat and browsing history, but in the end, decided to leave some privacy for his own son.
But it was all just speculation, without any evidence. Suddenly, this evidence appeared without warning, and Lu Chengxin couldn’t guess Second Uncle’s mood.
“Ding,” the elevator door slowly opened, and Lu Chengxin was stunned.
“Surprising, Lin Ge,” he looked Lu Lin up and down with a smile, “You really don’t come here for no reason.”
Lu Lin, dressed in a suit, stepped out. “Seeing you like this, just came back from reporting, huh.”
Lu Lin was half a head taller than Lu Chengxin, standing upright like a soldier. The suit on him didn’t look out of place at all, but instead added a touch of restrained sensuality.
“You’ve made it so obvious, I couldn’t hide it either,” Lu Chengxin shrugged, “If you wanted to stop me, you should’ve called me earlier.”
“What did he say? Is he angry?”
“No reaction.”
“Then it seems like he’s really angry.” Lu Lin patted his shoulder and walked around him, heading down the corridor. Lu Chengxin turned to look at him, shook his head, and turned back into the elevator.
At this time, Shi Sheng was still sitting in the milk tea shop playing “King of Glory.” Wu Nan er came over unexpectedly and asked him to help with a side job of playing games. Most of Shi Sheng’s work and salary had been shared by Wu Nan er and Junzi Yu in recent days, and he didn’t feel comfortable refusing.
He touched his nose and slurped a mouthful of coconut milk tea. When he saw “Red 53” send a message: I’m in, see you later.
Shi Sheng quit the “King of Glory” interface, opened NetEase Cloud Music, and sent Lu Lin a song, “Good Luck.”
As Lu Lin put away his phone and pushed the door open, there was a “snap,” and the documents were thrown out and landed at his feet. Lu Lin lowered his head, picked up the documents with an indifferent pace, and put them back on the desk.
“Dad, getting angry is bad for your health.”
“Oh, so you still have a dad, that’s really rare,” Lu Songnian chuckled, looking up and down at his son, who had grown tall and strong.
“I’m here to let you know that I have a boyfriend now. I’ll bring him over another day to meet you.” Lu Lin sat on the table, but was pushed down by Lu Songnian.
“That kid Shi Sheng?”
“Yes, him.”
Lu Lin nodded and smiled. Lu Songnian pointed to his son’s disobedient appearance, stood up, and slapped a file over, “Speak, when did this happen?”
“It’s only been a few months,” Lu Lin adjusted the watch on his wrist, “He had an accident back then, and I took care of him and made everything clear. I’ve always said I wouldn’t date or get married, so you should be able to guess.”
“I can ignore whether you’re married or have children,” Lu Songnian said solemnly, “But have you ever considered how people around here will talk about you when you come home for Chinese New Year?”
“I don’t care.” Lu Lin shrugged.
“Your old man cares!”
“Dad, how much is face worth? Isn’t it better for us to live comfortably behind closed doors?” Lu Lin leaned against the door and looked at him, “I was afraid you’d be angry today, so I’ll bring him to see you another day.”
He pretended to leave, but Lu Songnian stopped him. “Stop.”
“What’s up, Dad?”
“You’re out and about!” Lu Songnian walked over and knocked on his head, “You’re grown up now, don’t you know to be more careful when you’re on a mission? Keeping me in the dark while you were in the hospital, did you think you could hide it from me?”
Lu Lin stepped back and patted his shoulder. “Dad, don’t worry, it’s nothing.”
“Just go.”
“Okay.”
He closed the door and opened it again, bringing in a box of strong liquor from outside the office. He patted it, “All good stuff, take your time drinking.”
When Lu Lin really left, Lu Songnian glanced at the box of liquor and sighed deeply.
Actually, his dad really wished Lu Lin could visit him more~
