The Night of the Flash Marriage: Mr. Li’s Vegetable State Can’t Be Hidden Any Longer Chapter 12

Chapter 12: So Cringe, She Doesn’t Think the CEO Will Pay Attention to Her, Does She?

Jiang Yan arrived at the company after nine o’clock.

Yu Lan had arranged for a driver to pick her up and drop her off every day.

Jiang Yan knew very well that while it was ostensibly for transportation, it was actually surveillance.

Standing in front of the familiar Li’s Group building, Jiang Yan looked up at the rising sun, a slow curve forming on her lips.

Li’s Group, she was back.

When she left, she was just a small employee in the design department of Li’s Group.

When she returned, she was the CEO’s wife.

And this, she had accomplished in just over a month.

However, the smile on her lips did not reach her eyes…

Jiang Yan smoothly entered Li’s Group, intending to take the elevator to her office.

Unexpectedly, while waiting for the elevator, she ran into Li Yancheng.

“Good morning, CEO.” The respectful greetings of the employees instantly rang out around her.

Li Yancheng nodded slightly in acknowledgement.

The moment she saw him, Jiang Yan waved at him with a smile, happily saying, “What a coincidence, CEO…”

However, Li Yancheng acted as if he hadn’t seen her, coldly turning and entering the CEO’s private elevator.

“Was she trying to get close to the CEO?”

“So cringe, she doesn’t think the CEO will pay attention to her, does she?”

“Maybe she’s relying on her good looks, thinking the CEO is a superficial man who judges by appearance.”

“It’s a pity the CEO has a fiancée; everyone’s out of luck.”

Jiang Yan, hearing these whispers, felt extremely embarrassed.

Jiang Yan knew about Li Yancheng’s fiancée.

Indeed, it was known to almost everyone in the capital.

Originally, Li Yancheng was the most likely successor to Li’s Group.

However, half a year ago, Li Yancheng was in a car accident and became a vegetable, and his fiancée abandoned him.

In the wealthy circles, most marriages are alliances based on interests.

With Li Yancheng in a coma, he was of no value to his fiancée.

Soon, the elevator arrived. Just as Jiang Yan stepped in, a woman deliberately reached out and shoved her.

The force was considerable, causing Jiang Yan to stumble two steps back towards the elevator doors.

Before she could regain her balance, a sharp voice came from behind her: “The elevator’s too crowded; there’s no room. You can take the next one.”

The next second, a strong arm grabbed her arm, steadying her.

“If I remember correctly, the standard capacity of this elevator is eighteen people.” Li Yancheng looked into the elevator, seriously counting, “If I’m not mistaken, there are only eleven people in the elevator now.”

The familiar voice caused Jiang Yan to turn her head to look at Li Yancheng.

She heard him continue, “Or is there something I can’t see?”

“No, no…” The woman who pushed Jiang Yan, seeing Li Yancheng arrive, quickly stepped back to make way, smiling obsequiously, “Vice President, please go ahead.”

Li Yancheng didn’t immediately enter, but turned to Jiang Yan.

The meaning was clear.

The woman could only grit her teeth and say to Jiang Yan with a smile, “Sorry, please go ahead.”

Jiang Yan naturally wouldn’t press her advantage, gesturing for Li Yancheng to enter first.

After watching Li Yancheng enter the elevator, Jiang Yan stepped in.

The elevator doors closed, and Li Yancheng said calmly, “I hope the employees of Li’s Group will refrain from targeting and ostracizing colleagues.”

“No, it won’t happen again.” The woman chuckled, wiping the sweat from her forehead.

She silently rejoiced; thankfully, it was the Vice President.

If it had been the CEO, her fate that day would have been packing her bags and leaving.

However, the CEO wasn’t that kind; he wouldn’t meddle in the affairs of a regular employee.

Just like before, the CEO would simply turn and enter the CEO’s private elevator without looking back.

Seeing that Jiang Yan hadn’t pressed a floor, Li Yancheng slightly lowered his head and asked her, “Which floor are you going to?”

“Me?” Jiang Yan was momentarily stunned before realizing Li Yancheng was asking her, replying, “Twenty-eight.”

The next second, Li Yancheng extended his long arm and pressed the button for the twenty-eighth floor.

“Thank you.” Jiang Yan thanked him politely, smoothing her hair behind her ear.

When the elevator reached the twenty-eighth floor, Jiang Yan got out, and she found Li Yancheng exiting as well.

Before she could say anything, Li Yancheng proactively said, “I happen to have something to do on the twenty-eighth floor.”

“Thank you again from earlier.” Jiang Yan thanked him again.

“We’re family; you’re welcome.” Li Yancheng smiled faintly, “Those people said those things about you; why didn’t you refute them? You’re the CEO’s wife now.”

Jiang Yan shook her head: “The CEO doesn’t allow me to publicly state our relationship.”

“That’s my older brother’s style.” Li Yancheng said helplessly, “He’s always been a gifted child, only caring about himself and not others. Don’t take it too seriously.”

“I won’t.” Jiang Yan smiled and shook her head again.

They walked side-by-side, chatting casually for a few moments before Jiang Yan reached the design department.

After waving goodbye to Li Yancheng, Jiang Yan entered her office.

She hadn’t been to work for over a month, and her old desk had already been assigned to someone new.

The busy colleagues, seeing Jiang Yan’s return, immediately asked her, “Jiang Yan? You’re back?”

“Where have you been all this time? You didn’t even say goodbye, and you didn’t reply to our WeChat messages.”

“Manager Yu said you resigned; we didn’t believe it at first. You loved this job so much, often working overtime until midnight, how could you resign?”

“Are you back to work? Or just to see us?”

Jiang Yan looked at these colleagues who cared about her, a smile appearing on her face.

“I’m back to work,” Jiang Yan simply explained, “I had some things to attend to these past days, so I took leave.”

“Is it your mother’s illness…?” A colleague said with a heavy expression, their tone cautious.

“My mother’s condition has indeed worsened; she’s waiting for a kidney transplant, but I believe my mother will be alright.” Hearing the word “mother,” the smile on Jiang Yan’s face faded slightly.

“Yes, she will be alright.” The colleagues echoed.

During her time at the company, Jiang Yan worked diligently, was kind and gentle, and was beautiful, so most of her colleagues liked her.

Next, Jiang Yan went to see Manager Yu, who arranged a new desk for her, and then went to HR to complete her re-employment procedures.

Her first official day back at the company began.

At lunchtime, several colleagues invited her to the cafeteria for lunch.

Two female colleagues were close friends.

Three male colleagues liked her.

On her first day back, Jiang Yan didn’t want to cause trouble, so she refused the three male colleagues and went to the cafeteria with the female colleagues.

However, she didn’t expect that even in the cafeteria, male colleagues would sit next to her.

Even people from the neighboring office, hearing that Jiang Yan was back, came to the cafeteria to find her.

The cafeteria was a public dining area, and Jiang Yan couldn’t say anything, so she pretended nothing was happening.
