Escape
Qin Chaochen sat on the sofa, feeling like his soul was still floating in the sky. He had known since childhood that Fu Quezhi was full of mischief. Despite his cool and aloof appearance, he was more wicked than anyone else. Qin Chaochen had suffered many setbacks because of Fu Quezhi. Now that things had turned out this way, it was quite frightening.
Fu Quezhi was efficient and quickly got him a new… couple’s phone. Qin Chaochen was too exhausted to even complain. He curiously poked at the phone, noticing that five years later, phones had more features. Qin Chaochen glanced at the contacts, which only had Fu Quezhi and Qin Shu’s numbers. He had forgotten that Qin Shu had a genius kid’s watch that could make calls.
Qin Chaochen immediately searched for his own information online. Besides being the second young master of the Qin Family, he now had the status of being married and a graduate of University B. He also looked up Fu Quezhi, who was the chairman and CEO of Chaoque, a publicly listed company, currently focusing on AI and 3D technology. He was married and a top student from University A. It aligned with the direction he wanted to pursue when he was a child.
Did his childhood dream of becoming a street fighter not come true?! Qin Chaochen suddenly stood up. He wanted to make a call!!!
Qin Yuanshen had just finished a meeting and was still in the conference room reviewing documents when he saw a familiar number calling. He quickly answered, as this brat hadn’t called him in a long time unless he needed money or food. After Qin Chaochen’s car accident, Qin Yuanshen stayed until Qin Chaochen was out of danger, but there were too many things to handle at the company, so he returned to work.
“Bro!” The voice on the other end was displeased.
Qin Yuanshen: “? What’s wrong? Why are you so angry?”
“Did my dream come true?”
Talking about dreams right off the bat, did he think he was eighteen? Qin Yuanshen: “You have so many dreams, who knows which one you’re talking about. You got married before your brother, so that wish came true.”
Qin Chaochen clenched his phone. Was this really how his brother talked to him? Had his brother become rebellious?!
Qin Yuanshen: “It takes a hundred days to heal from a serious injury, so don’t run around or fly off. Stay at home and don’t cause trouble, or I’ll have to clean up your mess.”
“Remember not to act up! And don’t go around being a contrarian. I’ll come see if you’ve been behaving tomorrow at noon.”
Qin Chaochen was shocked. “Behave, my foot! What do you take me for?!”
Qin Yuanshen sighed: “A troublemaker, what else?”
“I’ll hang up now. The uncles at the company are hard to manage. We’ll talk at noon.”
Qin Yuanshen was like a whirlwind, coming and going quickly, leaving no room for Qin Chaochen to speak. His space for survival was further compressed. After making a call, Qin Chaochen gained nothing but the information that his brother might still be single.
And how did he become a troublemaker? He had always advocated for world peace, building a common village in City A, and was committed to creating a prosperous, democratic, clean, and beautiful new A Village. He was a high school student of the new era and one of the first to surf the internet.
Qin Chaochen felt wronged and confused. He didn’t understand why his brother’s rebellious phase came so late, and why he had to be a contrarian. At thirty-something, Qin Chaochen instinctively considered himself eighteen, which made sense when calculating Qin Yuanshen’s age.
With this addition and subtraction, Qin Chaochen understood. It was menopause.
*
Fu Quezhi had taken a nap, possibly because Qin Chaochen had returned home and wouldn’t be leaving anytime soon. He slept deeply for about an hour before getting up. He walked out of the room but didn’t find Qin Chaochen in the living room, which made him a bit anxious, though he remained calm on the surface. Since Qin Chaochen had come home with him, he wouldn’t leave the apartment casually. Perhaps something had come up. Fu Quezhi sat on the sofa and took out his phone.
The communication interface stayed on Qin Chaochen’s name, but he hesitated to press it. What would the eighteen-year-old Qin Chaochen be doing now? Without thinking, Fu Quezhi grabbed his car keys and headed out.
Fu Quezhi drove towards the outskirts of City A, near the sea. On the golden beach, there were only a few people. It was close to dinner time, so there weren’t many around. Fu Quezhi didn’t stop and went to the other end of the beach. There were many rocks piled up there, and a figure lay on the rocks, hands supporting his head, his whole body in a relaxed state.
“How did you know I was here?” Qin Chaochen looked up at Fu Quezhi, clearly puzzled.
Fu Quezhi felt a bit pleased. “I guessed.”
Qin Chaochen hesitated to stand up, tugging at the hem of his shirt to cover his abs. He felt a bit embarrassed. If it were other men, it wouldn’t matter, but with Fu Quezhi, it felt strange and uncomfortable.
“You came all the way to find me. How about playing in the water?” Qin Chaochen felt a bit embarrassed. Coming to the seaside, he couldn’t just go back so quickly, especially since he had run out because he was feeling upset. He suggested that Fu Quezhi could play on his own.
“Oh.” Fu Quezhi chuckled. “I like playing in the water at home.” Besides, Qin Chaochen’s arm was injured, and it wouldn’t be fun to play alone.
Good intentions were treated like donkey liver and lungs. How could you play in water at home? The house was so small, with only a bathtub and no swimming pool!
Qin Chaochen felt aggrieved and asked his nemesis, “Are you my first love?”
Qin Chaochen’s topic was quite random, but Fu Quezhi was used to it. His attitude had been strange since leaving the hospital, then going home, and now finding Qin Chaochen. He had become calm, reminiscent of his high school days.
Fu Quezhi: “Yes.”
Qin Chaochen was about to speak when Fu Quezhi glanced at him and said, “You’re also my first love.”
His voice blended with the unique sound of the sea breeze, and under the sunset, Qin Chaochen’s ears turned red, his eyes looking at Fu Quezhi in disbelief.
He stood there, stunned, letting the sea breeze blow into his collar, causing a shiver on his skin.
Qin Chaochen stammered, “Let’s, let’s go back.”
Fu Quezhi looked at the sunset, nodded, and returned to his reserved demeanor.
The two walked in silence until they were about to get in the car when Fu Quezhi stopped. Qin Chaochen turned back, puzzled.
Fu Quezhi moved his foot and found a seashell. He continued walking nonchalantly, his eyes slightly narrowed.
In front of Qin Chaochen, a man in swim trunks suddenly appeared.
“You look really good,” the guy complimented, wearing a pair of boxer swim trunks, showing off his six-pack abs and healthy tan.
“Thanks.” Qin Chaochen glanced at the guy’s abs, feeling slightly relieved. Clearly, they weren’t as solid or as many as his own. He replied perfunctorily, “You’re not bad either.”
In his mind, he wondered if the guy was trying to show off his physique in front of him, wanting to compete on who was more manly.
The guy indeed wanted to show off his physique, and his abs even trembled.
Fu Quezhi walked up, not even glancing at the guy. “Chaochen, let’s go.”
The guy exclaimed in surprise, “Wait, are you two together?”
Fu Quezhi’s cold face remained expressionless. “Yes, we’re planning to go home.”
“Are you a couple?!”
Qin Chaochen found this guy strange.
Qin Chaochen became wary. “What’s it to you?”
The guy waved his hand, smiling brightly. “My name is Chang Hang. You both look really good, very attractive.” Chang Hang smiled and said, “Can I join you?”
Chang Hang earnestly said, “I really like both of you. I can be the top or the bottom, and I’m fine being in the middle.”
Qin Chaochen: “???”
Fu Quezhi: “???”
Huh? What the heck, what do you want to do?
â–ŤAuthor’s Note
Qin Chaochen was greatly shocked.
Fu Quezhi: Are you okay?! If you’re fine, have some Liuliu Mei!
