Chapter 8: The Value of the Boys’ Dormitory
“Professor Qin, it’s getting late. Class should be over now, and I have things to do, so I’ll be leaving,” Jiang Yichen said, glancing at the clock on the wall.
Class started at 2 p.m., lasting forty-five minutes; it was now 2:44 p.m., well past time to end the class.
“In any case, Professor Qin, I sincerely apologize for speaking ill of you behind your back last time. These flowers are my way of making amends. Please, don’t hold it against me,” he added.
Without waiting for Qin Ling to respond, he placed the flowers on the piano lid and swiftly grabbed his textbooks, practically gliding out of the room.
The pressure from the “crazy professor” was too strong; he didn’t want to stay a second longer.
If possible, he really wanted to suggest switching his performance professor to the academic office.
“Jiang Yichen.”
As soon as Qin Ling called his name, there was no sign of him in the room.
She looked at the clock on the wall.
Great, not only did he arrive ten minutes late, but he also dared to leave half a minute early!
He wasn’t focused during class either.
Qin Ling took out the attendance roster, found Jiang Yichen’s name, and deducted five points from his participation grade.
She had three classes that afternoon.
Aside from Jiang Yichen, there were two other girls in her classes.
There were ten-minute breaks between each class.
Taking advantage of the break, Qin Ling didn’t hesitate to take the bouquet of lilies and head downstairs.
“Auntie.”
Qin Ling greeted the cleaning lady who was tidying up.
“You’ve worked hard. Here are some flowers for you.”
Before the cleaning lady could react, Qin Ling placed the flowers down and walked away.
……
In the Boys’ Dormitory.
Jiang Yichen returned to his room, feeling accomplished.
He would give himself a score of one hundred for today’s performance.
With his sincere apology, he almost bowed down to Qin Ling.
And it seemed Qin Ling truly didn’t hold a grudge against him… No, he should say he was the one who had been anxious the whole time.
Thinking about it, how could she possibly hold a grudge against a kid like him?
“I should be able to relax now, but I’ll still avoid her in the future.”
Jiang Yichen felt like he didn’t need to worry about dropping out anymore.
“I’ll take a nap.”
He took off his clothes and climbed into bed.
He hadn’t slept well in the past two days.
Now he could finally rest and catch up on sleep, though it hurt a little to have suddenly spent two hundred yuan…
He received fifteen hundred yuan in total for September, leaving him with thirteen hundred yuan, and it was only September 2nd.
Twenty-eight days left…
As Jiang Yichen slowly thought this through, his eyes gradually closed, and he fell into a deep sleep.
He was awakened by the voices of his three roommates and the sound of rapid typing.
Zheng Mingcheng shouted, “Damn it, it’s off again! Your spirit is off, your collapse is off, and the absolute area is off! Mi Hu You, you bastard!”
Shen An, with a sweet voice, chimed in, “Hey, big brother in the jungle, can you come and help me out in the top lane?”
Zhang Wei yelled, “Damn it! I ran into that dead Hu Tao again. Can’t you stop using that dead sword energy? I’ve already helped you take three executions!”
Three different games were being played simultaneously, yet none of them seemed to interfere with each other.
Jiang Yichen had slowly gotten used to the female voice that had appeared in his dorm over the past month.

Jiang Yichen picked up his phone to check the time, then jumped out of bed.
Zhang Wei noticed him and came over to ask, “Lao Jiang, how was class with Professor Qin? Did you feel something special?”
Jiang Yichen rolled his eyes. “Are you crazy?”
Zhang Wei replied, “Hey, don’t be shy about it. It’s nothing to be embarrassed about. Professor Qin is recognized as the most beautiful woman in our school now, and she’s leading the poll on the confession wall. Don’t worry; your sister’s votes are only second to Professor Qin’s.”
Jiang Suihua, too, was well-known on campus, having secured the title of campus beauty during military training with her natural look.
Ever since it became known that Jiang Yichen and Jiang Suihua were siblings, many students risked getting teased by coming to the Boys’ Dormitory to ask for Jiang Yichen’s contact details, but they were all refused.
“Nonsense,” Jiang Yichen countered. “My sister is much prettier than that Qin Ling. Just look at her cold expression; she can’t compare to my sister!”
Zheng Mingcheng interjected, “Lao Jiang, you’re biased. By public standards, your sister is still a young college student, while Professor Qin is a mature woman, exuding femininity with every gesture. Your sister may surpass her in the future, but not yet…”
Shen An agreed with Mingcheng’s comment. “True.”
Zhang Wei continued, “Did you hear that, Lao Jiang? The public’s judgment is sharp.”
Jiang Yichen scoffed, “Heh, you all just don’t understand.”
Zhang Wei added, “We don’t understand? You’re the one who doesn’t get the charm of a mature woman!”
Zhang Wei continued, “Let me put it this way: if Professor Qin wanted to slap me right now, I would smell the fragrance from her fingertips before the slap landed. By the time it hit my face, it wouldn’t hurt; it would feel great.”
Shen An and Zheng Mingcheng, still gaming, simultaneously exclaimed, “Pervert!”
Jiang Yichen chuckled, “That slap could send you flying to the other side of the Earth.”
While that metaphor was a bit exaggerated, Qin Ling was a formidable character in the story; a slap from her could very well knock Zhang Wei out.
Zhang Wei replied, “You don’t know anything. Even if she slapped me to death, I would still be willing.”
Jiang Yichen muttered, “Unbelievable.”
